got to see tgwdlm in the west end this weekend! accidentally showed up half an hour late tho because Iām an idiot who canāt read numbers š i missed the opening number and la dee da day
genuinely incredible, ive been a starkid fan since 2017 so getting to see them work their magic in person was such a surreal experience. anyone whoās got tickets you are in for such a treat
also shoutout to the venue for being so supportive! as a wheelchair user going to the theatre is often a stressful experience but they made it so smooth and were so reassuring and helpful
you need to listen to rap and hiphop you need to listen to jazz you need to listen to blues and country and bluegrass or else you will be inflicted with something most foul of the soul
and if you say you do and post a video game ost you will be hexed by an evil shaman
the internet is a place for reading wikipedia articles and watching every movie for free. social media is an invasive species. never forget this
what nonphannies donāt understand is that it isnāt about āknowingā itās about dnpās queer joy and comfort level. weāre not happy bc they told us, weāre happy bc they felt comfortable and joyful enough to tell us. āknowingā has a weird power connotation. If you āknewā all along youāre trying to establish power over information that you donāt have authority on, and it takes power away from the people (dnp) telling you the information.

Friendly PSA on radical feminism - because it's so heavily demonizedĀ
Friendly reminder that radical feminism isn't inherently born out of misandry, but of thousands of years of abuse and mistreatment against women. That it isnāt about deciding that men canāt control themselves and canāt learn but itās about seeing the hundred of years of evidence of men behaving that way and choosing to protect your own safety above hurting people's feelings.Ā
Abusers arenāt exclusively men, anyone with half a brain knows that - and radical feminism isnāt denying that. But what radical feminism is saying is that they make up the majority, and it's women who are systematically targeted for nothing other than existing in the same space as them. Radical feminist donāt want segregation of male and females, they want a safe space. Take the word harem, which is now connected to sexual events, it originated from a safe women only space. It was men who changed the meaning. Women-only spaces aren't segregation, itās a necessity born out of the society we live in - in an ideal world they wouldnāt be needed, but this isnāt an ideal world, it's a world that hates women.Ā Ā
Anyone who says that theyāre a radical feminist but excludes trans women isnāt really a radical feminist - theyāve misunderstood. Radical feminist donāt exclude non-binary people or trans women. What they do talk about is the experiences that AFAB women have in their lives, especially whilst growing up which may not affect trans women or non-binary people as much. Thatās not a reflection of radical feminist, that's a reflection of a transphobic society.Ā
People talk about radical feminists as if theyāre the āevilā side of feminism, theyāre not. The feminism they practice is radical, it's in the name. You don't have to agree with every aspect, but stop acting like radical feminist are misandric transphobes - because theyāre not.Ā
One thing I recommend thinking about when you see a radical feminist talking on a topic you don't agree with or donāt understand is think about the context. Andrea Dworkin was a radical feminist who had very strong black and white opinions on porn and sex, which not everyone agrees with (including radical feminists) but when it's put into the context of her spending her whole life being abused, assaulted and raped by men it makes alot more sense how she got such black and white opinions. That's not to say all radical feminists are necessarily abused women.Ā
as a severely mentally ill 14 year old, I remember thinking āthe medical system would treat me better if I was physically ill and not mentally illā and then I coincidentally developed multiple chronic illnesses and found out that actually they dgaf even when youāre essentially bedridden
taylors i drew for a fanzine last year !
The Australian Ballet is doing Alice in Wonderland again and on one hand Iāve seen it before, and on the other, their Queen of Hearts has my favourite costume in anything every
Itās just this and her court pushes her around the stage on wheels and every act it gets taller until she towers over everyone
Also in act 3 (I think) it swings open at the front and her husband is sitting inside reading a newspaper
I saw this again on Tuesday so here are some things Iād forgotten about:
This is the only Alice adaptation Iāve ever seen that doesnāt cut the caucus race
The mad hatter wears taps throughout and itās so jarring and surprising itās perfect
The executioner shadows almost everyone who dances with the Queen
Lewis Carroll is a character in the ballet and becomes the white rabbit who leads Alice into wonderland which is bad and wrong because Carroll is the dodo but does work very well
They started dropping rose petals from the ceiling onto the audience when Alice looked through the door to the garden and it was utterly magic
The Cheshire Cat is made of about 10 different puppets that dance around the stage
Which reminds me Alice is styled after Alice Liddell rather than the John Tenniel illustrations
I donāt think the king of hearts actually dances he just wanders around looking confused
hereās a video
more. (btw this is a parody/reference to the very famous ārose adagioā from sleeping beauty)
the Caterpillar is pretty neat too
(all of these videos are from the Royal Balletās productions in 2014 and 2017)
Finally an adaptation that makes feel like Iām going to have stroke, itās perfect
This looks fucking bonkers, I love it.
Wow fascinating!
tit is late so I blocked Phil and dan
and they say white people canāt cook
God sat next to me on the bus today and I wish I asked her what perfume she was wearing.
She listened to the talking heads on her off brand earphones
Messaging her probably equally fashionable friends about 40th birthday plans.
I imagine her dancing in the mirror,
belting Bowie at the top of her lungs.
She spins in circles, itās choreographed chaos, the definition of dancing like nobodyās watching.
Maybe sheās got a partner.
2 beautiful kids,
A house on the seafront,
overlooking the ocean.
Or maybe sheās just got a cat.
I donāt know much about the experience but I imagine being a deity makes you quite busy.
But I do know that she could change the world with a click of her fingers.
Mountains could move, oceans could part
at the sight of her.
Or, at least, the smell of her.
