In general I am taken out of the story when fanfics make Stede's voice kind of a generic polite easily scandalized type. It ignores how absolutely buckwild insane this man is. The same guy who said "calm down Mr. Wavy Blade" is not gonna say shit like "oh goodness gracious me you mustn't do that!"

But I have one big exception to that, and it's that Stede absolutely would say "goodness gracious" and similar shit while he's having sex with Ed. He just would. That's just a fact about Stede Bonnet unfortunately, and Ed would 100% be really into Stede saying "good heavens!" while they're actively fucking. The first time Stede sees Ed naked he's like dabbing at his forehead with a handkerchief like he's a Victorian maiden
