A few years ago, @cathalinaheart recorded two podfics of my fics, and I encourage everyone to give them a listen.
Podfics are so cool once you get over your embarrassment and shyness of being seen, especially in a way that you're not used to lol. It's magical to hear your words come to life, in the voice of someone who enjoyed your writing enough to read it aloud to others and back to you.
Somehow, it makes it even realer that there's another person out there who opened my fic on their phone or computer and spent time with it. It feels more intimate like it's just that reader and me and the words I excavated from someplace deep inside existing in the space between us.
All this is to say, these podfics are special to me and even more so because they're the first two I ever received! For some reason, I never imagined someone podficcing any of my fics.

Last week my mother gave me several old tablecloths and napkins. When I saw this 100% cotton blue tartan I knew I wanted to make it into a new overdress.
The table cloth was elliptical and I had 5 matching napkins. At first I wanted it to be a full bodice, but i decided that having it more apron like was easier and I don't need any hardware for closing this way. I'm just using a belt (though I'll probably add ties on the sides where the skirt panels meet so it stays in place without the belt). I didn't have a pattern and improvised my way through the construction of the top, but as long as you don't look at the wrong side of the dress it looks neat enough for my taste.
In the end I only used three of the 5 napkins for the top, so I have 2 leftover to eventually do something else with. For the skirt I just halved the table cloth, gathered it and attached it to the bodice halves.

An easy way to track your bids
With so many amazing fanworks on offer this year, you might be struggling a little to keep up with all of them: spending a lot of time refreshing bidding spreadsheets, or maybe even scrambling to keep track of all of the auctions you're interested in.
Now, thanks to a fantastic tool built by @cathalinaheart, it's easy to track a bunch of auctions all in one place!
You can find the watchlist template here. It's currently filled in with a couple of the mods' own offers just to demonstrate what it looks like when it's filled out, but here's how to set it up for yourself:
Make a copy for yourself
Delete the auctions you don't care about
Open up the auctions you do care about, and put in links to the bidding sheets, bidding forms, and auction posts in the appropriate columns
label each row with the name of the creator, and fill in the "what?" and "notes" columns in ways that will help you remember why you're interested
Once you've done that, the sheet will then populate the colored columns with the current high bid amount, and the name of the high bidder.
Now you have a tool that keeps track of the current high bid on all of your auctions, and also makes it easy to jump over and place another bid whenever you want to.
While we your mods do a lot of work behind the scenes, a lot of what makes the auction amazing comes from you all. We're so grateful to @cathalinaheart for building and sharing this tool!
In case people are wondering about the colours, if you put your name in field K1 spelled the way you are placing your bids every row you are currently winning turns green. The label Your name: apparently went missing to indicate that you should add in your own name

If you want to see some wip pictures you can find them in the album here! Sadly i don't have as many as I planned because my micro sd card died and I didn't have a backup.
The base pattern of the dolls is inspired by @notanicedragon 's keyring buddy. The clothes are all free handed and for the most part ironed for a better drape. Originally I wanted to make the wips with small leaves but it didn't work out in the scale I was working at, so both are just a series of 3 chains followed by a picot stitch. I did Jiangui first and it took a bit for me to get the hang of twisting the chain so that the small bumps are always on opposite sites. By the time I made Tianwen I had it figured out though.
I've had two super busy weeks, but I finally want to share my dokomi haul!

From July 8th to August 5th you can once again compete with your fellow SteveTony fans for points and glory by creating fanworks. You can check out this year's rules and full schedule here. Voiceteam is a Discord-based team scavenger hunt for the podfic community. Teams can earn points for making different voice-based or voice-adjacent creations. There are three 7-day rounds in the month of May—for each round, teams will get a list of ten point-earning challenges and then will be set loose to strategize, create, and have fun!
