Question of the Week
What is academia like in your world? How is information learned and passed on?
This occurred at the height of the Duzanian Empire’s glory. When every path and route had been mapped and its safety guaranteed by the empire, knowledge spread alongside the rapid growth of trade.
Maseli, Carum, Santa (Mind, Purity, Power) was the empire’s official motto.
Knowledge at that time was entirely influenced by various theological teachings from diverse cultures, which were then sorted and unified by the empire. These teachings were not merely texts in books but were translated into tangible reality, such as imperial laws. This is the first pillar: Mind.
However, teachings translated into law were not simply enforced. These laws had to be vetted by the priests of the Lahurzana temple based on universal laws. This ensured that the Lahurzana faith was universally accepted regardless of race—and this is where the empire derived its moral legitimacy. This is the second pillar: Purity.
Nevertheless, laws would be nothing more than empty texts without enforcement. Therefore, the imperial wyvern knights are required to study these laws alongside their military skills. Essentially, the Duzanian Empire originated from a mountain tribe of wyvern riders with the deadliest and most feared military capabilities—conquering territories through intimidation and fear. However, they succeeded in masking this savagery with Mind and Purity, which guide the Power.
One of the empire’s finest academies is located in Loumtune, on the shores of central Lake Vamor. Unlike the rigid and formal Khramuns, Loumtune flows freely. There, poets recite verses like the wind carrying messages from the Twula birds. It feels inadequate to refer to this place simply as an academy.
“Come here, O friends! Let me tell you a soul-soothing tale of the Twins. May the blessings of the moonlight illuminate your journey, O friends!”
The verses are mostly drawn from epics and folktales brought by merchants, then reworked to convey a moral message. The most popular are the Elven poems, due to the depth of their language and their flowing verses, which are capable of stirring the life force within the body. These Elven poems inspire everyone from the empire’s writers to the common people.
“Blessed are those who recount everything from half their lives, who tell extraordinary tales of His Oneness. Every word and letter of their language will be counted as a good deed that will one day save them.” — Elven Poem
The tradition of public storytelling is nothing new in Drazonia; it is a major part of the identity and culture of every race on this continent. This custom was born out of the extreme winters, which can freeze the flow of enchen if the body isn’t warmed by the company of others.
Finally, I’ve finished the worldbuilding draft based on my reimagined magic system.
It’s an urban fantasy story about witches with strong historical elements.
Let’s start with mythology.
It begins with Lilith, of course, a symbol of rebellion, freedom, and femininity. She fits perfectly into any myth about witches.
In an oral tale always told by a witch to her daughter:
//Before there was a name for darkness, Lilith walked alone—not as a monster, but as the first to refuse to submit. From her womb was born Seraphine, an innocent and pure child, free from the original sin that clung to her own mother.
The world never made room for the child of the cursed one. Lilith, knowing her child would be hunted because of the legacy of her name, pleaded to the heavens—not for herself, but for the protection of Seraphine and all her future descendants.
“A mother’s curse cannot be erased. Yet a prayer is never in vain. Thus Seraphine, and every woman born of her line, would inherit both at once, the curse that marks them as children of darkness, and the blessing that protects them from total destruction.”
From this arose the dualism that lies at the heart of the Western Witches’ identity: their magic is beautiful yet unstable, powerful yet vulnerable. They are the children of rejection and protection, of banishment and prayer.//
This is a narrative passed down through generations, not a verifiable historical record.
Within the Witches’ community itself, attitudes toward this myth vary:
- Traditionalists treat this myth as a literal and sacred truth.
- Modernists view it as a psychological allegory—an explanation of the unstable nature of Mana and the inherent dualism within every witch.
- Internal scholars document it as founding folklore, equivalent to a sacred text within the context of their beliefs.
What is undisputed: this myth originated from and is bound to the European Spirit World, and that is what makes the entire Lilith-Seraphine lineage of magic fundamentally different from other magical traditions around the world.
History
For hundreds of years, European witches lived in fear. The era of witch hunts, which reached its peak between the 15th and 18th centuries in various European countries, forced them to hide their identities, split into small, scattered networks, and pass down their knowledge orally and in secret.
During this time, there were no formal structures. There was no written hierarchy. Knowledge of Mana, Renula, and the ways to control magic was passed down from mother to child, from teacher to student, within very small circles of trust.
What was also passed down, though never explicitly mentioned, was something far deeper: a collective memory etched into the Spirit World. Generations who were hunted, burned, and destroyed left an emotional imprint that did not fade with their physical deaths. That imprint is stored within the layers of the European Spirit World, waiting to be sensed by anyone who is spiritually open enough.
The repeal of the Witchcraft Act in Great Britain marked the most significant moment in the history of modern European witches. For the first time in centuries, legal persecution officially came to an end.
Between 1740 and 1745, three events occurred almost simultaneously:
The Birth of the First Formal Organization; A group of senior witches in Britain formed the first organized body, which later served as a model for other European nations.
The Formalization of the Vinculum System; The stages of Mana development, which had previously varied inconsistently across regions, were codified into an eight-tier system that was subsequently widely adopted throughout Europe.
The Pact of Secrecy; An unwritten yet binding agreement was made between the witches community and non-magical authorities: their existence would not be officially acknowledged, in exchange for peace and security.
This pact forms the foundation of the witches community’s status to this day: believed to exist, yet never officially confirmed.
After 1740, the European Witch dynasties that had survived the era of witch hunts began to consolidate their knowledge, including their understanding of adaptive biology, which had long been kept under strict secrecy. Control over this information became one of the most significant instruments of power in the internal politics of the European Wizard community.
I’m a bit tired of the typical witches with pointed hats and dark robes, or those in stylish modern outfits.
This was an unexpected discovery as I was studying the history of witch hunts. At the time, witch hunts were influenced by the Catholic Church and demonology, and I suddenly wondered: what about the Orthodox Church? I looked at Russia and found that witch hunts there were less common—in fact, many of the accused were men.
The Russian Orthodox Church and the Russian Empire viewed the phenomenon of witch hunts in Western Europe quite differently and in a relatively more “calm” manner compared to the Catholic and Protestant traditions. The Orthodox Church did indeed officially oppose witchcraft and magical practices (including divination, shamanism, etc.), but it did not encourage hysterical witch hunts. They viewed it as a spiritual issue to be addressed through faith, prayer, and the sacraments, not through mass terror.
Punishments tended to involve denial of communion, fasting, prayers of repentance, prostration, or exile to a monastery for atonement.
This gave rise to the concept of “sanctified witches.”
So when the exiles descended from the Lilith-Seraphine bloodline arrived in Russia, they did not face the same extermination as their cousins in Western Europe.
Their experience was more like being watched, exiled if they were too visible.
The collective resonance shaped by this history does not sound like a fear of death. It sounds like an imposed silence and an adaptation that has gone on for far too long.
At that time, the relationship between the witch community and the Russian Orthodox Church was informal and unsystematic. The Church was aware of their existence; some priests actively visited women exhibiting symptoms of Renula Kosong, offering spiritual counseling and simple blessing rituals.
The turning point came in 1762. Sophie von Anhalt-Zerbst—later known as Catherine the Great—was a Prussian woman who came to Russia as the betrothed of Peter III. In 1744, she underwent an Orthodox baptism as a condition of her marriage: a public ceremony that changed her name, her religion, and her official identity before the entire court.
Eighteen years of living in the Russian court as a foreigner who was constantly watched, belittled, and threatened. The void that characterized Renula Russia found its perfect state in the isolation and uncertainty that defined those years. And when the coup of 1762 succeeded in placing her on the throne—the moment when that void exploded into something else—Renula was over.
Catherine became the Witch. And she became the Emperor. At the same time.
Catherine did not intervene in any way in the Russian witch community; her mere presence was enough to signal change.
The Orthodox Church, at that time, reacted in a way that only an institution that suddenly realized the power it had long considered marginal was actually at the center of power could: total reorganization.
Between 1762 and the mid-1770s, the Russian Orthodox Church quietly integrated the witch community into its internal structure as an officially recognized faction—hidden from the public, but documented in the Church’s archives.
At the same time, the Exorcism of Witches was elevated from an informal pastoral practice to an institutional obligation. It was no longer merely a suggestion; it became mandatory. Every identified witch was required to undergo Exorcism through a now-standardized ritual, led by a specially appointed priest, and recorded in archives accessible only to the Church’s highest hierarchy.
Through this history, Russian Witch have developed a unique sense of pride that would later manifest in the modern era following the collapse of the Soviet Union.

I found an early draft of my magic system that I no longer consider relevant to my current world...
--------------------- The witch's spiritual body accesses the spirit world. Spirit energy, called Ecen, enters the spiritual body, and this Ecen becomes magic through several methods. However, Ecen is still in a wild and chaotic state, making their magic unstable. Witches need to tame Ecen through principles that shape concepts.
Renula: The moment of awakening of a witch when the spiritual body first accesses the Spirit World and receives Ecen due to a crucial emotional moment.
Activation: -Resonance: Great emotions shake the spiritual body, accessing the Spirit World. -Interference: Ecen enters, wild and destructive fluctuations. -Taming: Forming Principles to bind Ecen, forming Concepts. Usage
Weaknesses & Drawbacks They can use Ecen unlimitedly, which is both an advantage and a weakness. The Spirit World is like an ocean dripping into a small bucket, such is the condition experienced by Serphtic witches. They are like a fragile bucket holding back a large torrent. Every time they use magic, Ecen will return to the user because their magic is an anomaly by nature. Ecen entering from the Spirit World and rebounding back, overflowing the vessel (body), can be fatal. Adaptive biology: Because users are all women, and women have unique biological systems, their bodies adapt to the excess Ecen. During menstruation, the reflected Ecen is concentrated in the uterus and released through menstrual blood. At high stages, if the uterus is fertilized during this process, a unique child with magical innateness will be born, without the Renula phase. At low Vinculum, menstruation is normal, and the body adapts, resembling a normal biological function. At high Vinculum, a new normalization occurs: the expulsion of Ecen through menstruation is no longer sufficient, and the body creates a "grand exit" through pregnancy. Having children also serves as an anchor for humanity to face stages 6-7. The power level of Ecen that enters is wild and destructive and needs to be tamed with principles. However, if Ecen enters too much, the vessel can crack. The principles that have been formed are formulated into Concepts. These Concepts make the vessel large, accommodating many Ecen.
There are seven stages of Concept formation, and these stages involve not only increasing power but also identity, where the soul is reconstructed through the process. Just like Seraphine's desire for true beauty.
These stages are called vinculum. In the wizarding hierarchy, vinculums 1-2 are called Apprentice, 3-4 are called Mentor, and 5th vinculum is called Master. Vinculums 6-7 are the most difficult to achieve, practically countless. However, the number of vinculums doesn't necessarily determine their power; various factors such as their uniqueness, their use of magic, and exploiting their vulnerabilities are crucial. The exception is vinculums 6-7, which are already at a different level.
However, there is one final stage, vinculum 8, or The Byond. This is the most difficult level to achieve, requiring the assistance of other entities such as ancient beings or even gods.
Attributes Attributes are classifications of wizard types based on their Ecen activities and physical characteristics. There are four categories of attributes: Amnru, Resector, Bioner, and Cortive. Ecen can be read like a wave. Witches in normal condition have stable Ecen. Low Witch: 45-58 Hz, Medium Witch: 61-75 Hz, High Witch: 78-87 Hz
Amnru - Connection to the Spirit World - Definition: How deeply a witch's spiritual body opens itself to the flow of Ecen and spirit beings. - Indicator: A spike in Hz when magic is activated. - Normal Range: 105-410 Hz. - Consequence: The higher the Amnru, the greater the chance of the body being filled with wild Ecen or being infiltrated by foreign entities. When their magic is active, it is often detected.
Resector – Rate & Intensity of Ecen Current - Definition: The speed and stability of the Ecen current in the spiritual body. - Indicator: Hz activity during magic use. - Range: >100 Hz indicates active Resector. - Consequences: Fluxa offers the most unique potential, but is also the most dangerous. Due to its flexibility in combat, it resists tracking. However, stamina is quickly depleted.
Bioner – Relationship with the Biological Body - Definition: How the physical body absorbs and bears the Energy that should be in the spiritual body. - Indicator: Observable physical changes. - Manifestations: -- Subtilis → only a minor effect, veins and pupils glow when magic is active. -- Exotica → striking changes, skin speckled with light, hair flowing like water. -- Mutantis → full transformation, body as if "re-stitched" by Energy. Beautiful and exotic. - Consequences: High Bioner enhances an exotic aura, but the body becomes more susceptible to biological rifts (infertility, chronic pain, and even permanent mutations). They are often traced.
Cortive – Direct Control over Ecen -Definition: The ability to control Ecen without relying entirely on Principles, Concepts, or tools (Runes, magical mediums). -Indicator: How freely the magician can control
-----------------------
Earlier I said this magic system wasn’t relevant. but that’s not entirely true. It’s just not relevant to my world, Meytnnis.
Meytnnis has already become too complex and so bloated... in terms of lore and philosophy.
Honestly, this was supposed to be a magic system for the witchthere, but for some reason it turned into an entire nation with a rich history and cultural identity. This might be because I got too deep into the worldbuilding phase, which was supposed to be just a brief backdrop... like generic fantasy.
Fortunately, this magic system can still be repurposed. I already have an idea to incorporate it into an Urban Fantasy story or a Dark Academy-themed one.
Yes, Dark Academy… In Darf, there’s a subculture of witches.
Nerphi: Seers & Dreamers
Velisari: Scribes & Teachers
Luminel: Aesthetes & Innovators
Rhazarii: Librarians & Spirits
Yeah, for somehow this fits perfectly as a witch girls’ club…

After I created the Cosmological Laws of my world, I began to see magic returning to its origins.
What do I mean?
Now I will view magic in its purely traditional sense, grounded in anthropology.
The reason is, when I developed the magic system and it turned into cosmological laws, it all felt mechanical—like a procedural step that over-explained too many methods. Plus, I felt that magic had lost its mystery and soul when treated this way.
There’s nothing wrong with creating laws or a magic system to prevent deus ex machina in the plot. Therefore, this magical system—which has become my cosmological law—serves as a framework for shaping magic in my world.
Magic in my world, like traditional magic in most cultures, serves as the identity and social code of a group.
Take spells, for instance—they aren’t like “fireballs” in the sense of modern classical magic. In the traditional sense, spells can also be called prayers, which provide protection for the community.
Have you ever heard the myth, “If you’re walking in the forest and sense that there are no other animal sounds, run immediately!” This might seem like a folk tale about ghosts, but there’s an explanation: some forest dwellers—like birds or insects—will fall silent when they sense a predator like a tiger. Elders knew this, and as the story was passed down through generations, it evolved into a folk tale.
That’s roughly what I’ll apply as well.
When a community believes in a guardian spirit, the collective energy that has consistently sustained that belief over several generations will give rise to a spiritual being that becomes the community’s guardian. Why does this created spirit entity protect the community? Because its existence depends on the community’s belief, the spirit entity will tend to do this because it also fears the chaos of the turbulent spirit world; it prefers the stability of the physical realm. Consequently, the community also reaps the benefits.
And all of that can be explained through my Cosmological Law.
Encen energy, influenced by emotion and logic, responds to the community’s beliefs through a constant collective emotion. Then, the Law of Crystallization takes effect, followed by the Law of Directional Movement, which shapes the spirit beings. Consequently, spirit beings depend on belief to remain in existence, and the community needs the protection of spirit beings—which is the universal law of interdependence.
Complicated? Just know that I have drawn a clear line between the consistency of the writing and the narrative story. Essentially, the Cosmological Laws guide me as a writer and do not enter the narrative as explanations; they exist as consequences and narrative consistency.
And finally, the mystery remains, and there are laws governing magic.
To live is to forget
And to die is to know
And oh, man
We’re all dying to know
That immeasurable distance
Between soul and ego
As if we know where we come from, but must wonder where we go and the symphony that plays for most is a frequency too low…
Let the dissonance we used to map our ambivalence between the bliss of ignorance and all this goddamn dying to know…
Just to live and let go
Be harmonized with both the science and the magic that create a rainbow
The child-like wonder and the perennial wisdom
That balance on the beam of the sun in perfect rhythm
So that our hearts pound
To the vibrations in the ground
And our souls radiate beyond the capsules which they’re bound
And Oh, man….
The end curiosity is one I’ve never found, but I don’t care
I’ll still sit in my garden breathing in the air
Plucking pedals off all the forget-me-nots
When they become weary
Asking impossible, intangible questions
Laughing while my eyes are teary
And seeing beauty
In all those naked flowers🥀
We romanticize the stars, but forget the dark is what made them visible.
being a writer is
50% daydreaming about plots and writing
50% procrastinating/suffering during the actual writing process
My magic system has evolved into the Natural Laws of my world.
I don’t know why, but the logic of my world compelled me to expand it into something more comprehensive.
Simply put, in the draft of my magic system, magic is created as a reaction between a wild energy called Encen in the Spirit World and the tangible reality of the Physical World.
Wizards need to control that reaction through emotion or logic via biases or cracks in reality.
When I tried to create a mechanism for how magic works, namely: How magic is formed from Encen drawn from the Spirit World into the Physical World.
The basic inspiration was a classic elemental magic system mixed with molecular theory. And there, a connection emerged!
I can’t describe that feeling—it’s somewhere between joy and awe. My Meytnnis has given me an incredible surprise!
In the initial draft, the Spirit World is the foundation of reality that shapes the Physical World through raw, abstract Ecen Energy, and then the Physical World stabilizes it into consistent laws of physics. That is the key.
From the magic system, it evolved into 3 LAWS OF NATURE.
Crystallization.
Raw Ecen transforms into Stable Ecen under the pressure of the laws of physics. The laws of physics were formed at the very beginning of Meytnnis’s creation; through two planetary collisions, Meytnnis came into being, and the laws of physics began to operate. Raw Ecen, which flows freely, is forced to take a position within the emerging definition of reality. Gravity, pressure, temperature, time—these are not merely material phenomena; they are the first crystallizations of Ecen forced into submission. But this crystallization is not uniform; certain natural phenomena can bend stable Ecen into chaos. This is not a flaw, but a law!
Direction of Motion
I was once in a dilemma when assigning positive and negative properties to Ecen, but that dilemma vanished when I looked at the theory of relativity. Positive and Negative are not properties of Ecen or its layers, but descriptions of the direction of motion! No Ecen is purely Positive or purely Negative permanently. The direction of motion can change depending on the context—environmental pressure, interactions with living beings, local physical laws, the ebb and flow of the two moons.
Even so, the positive is the foundation. Why? This is a line of reasoning I’ve been pondering for a long time, drawing inspiration from the theory that God exists within Kurt Gödel’s mathematical formula. I won’t go into great detail, but the gist is that the positive must exist as the foundation of creation; through the collision of two planets, Meytnnis was created, but that collision also created the negative—namely, destruction. This is a consequence arising from the interaction between existing entities. There is no Negative without the Positive preceding it. This connects to the First Law, the Law of Crystallization. When Positive and Negative meet, their interaction is corrosive: Negative erodes Positive. But corrosive does not always mean total destruction; it can be a form of transformation. Positive is not permanent. Under certain conditions, an Ecen moving toward the Positive can become distorted, causing its direction of movement to reverse or become incoherent.
The Law of Universal Interdependence
This is the Law that underpins the Second Law: No entity can maintain its Positive direction on its own. Interdependence in Metynnis is not merely ecological or political—it is cosmological. Because the Negative always erodes the Positive (Law 2), and an entity moving toward the Positive requires consistency to endure—no entity can maintain its positive direction alone against constant negative pressure. Every being, every system, every structure requires something outside itself. Breaking one link in a chain transforms the Negative pressure previously shared by all into a burden that the remaining links must bear.
These 3 Laws are Absolute, but at certain points there is Ambiguity.
Take Law 2, for example. Cosmologically, this is an absolute truth, but its implementation is ambiguous: Is there any Positive strong enough to endure the constant erosion of the Negative? The answer is Trust and Belief. The consistency of trust is how living beings maintain a Positive direction around themselves. But how long this can last—no one can measure it from the outside, and even from the inside, it is not always clearly felt.
"Nei norai-varenei! Lu-na velvaoa lunvael nei velroina."
This is the language I discovered deep in the Boreal forest!
Hehe, discovered. Honestly, I don’t feel like I created this; rather, this language came to me. As I retraced the journey of an ethnic group called the Serphitc, I discovered that this language originated from the heavens and their ancient identity, evolving as they began to settle in the Boreal forest.
Ancient Seerie
It happened at the end of ancient times, when humans from the southeast migrated northward. They were the Ser people; later, a group from that tribe entered the dense Boreal forest, marking the beginning of the Serphitc ethnic group.
The Ser were a nomadic group of sky-watchers, evident from the roots of their ancient words:
Neir: Snow/Cold
Noei: Light
Roie: Star
Vel: Wind/Air Movement
Vals: Sturdy/Mountain
Vare: Path
Sol: Warm
They were quite consistent in their grammar and sentence structure: Noun (Subject/Object) → Adjective → Verb
The most fascinating aspect is their Suffix System—it is the very heart of this language! Among them:
-nei (Activator): Functions to transform a noun into an active verb or adjective. An example is varenei (to endure/stand on the path), derived from the word vare (path)
-sei (Duration/Repetition): Indicates a repeated or continuous action, similar to the rhythm of an orbit that keeps turning. An example is velsei (blowing continuously)
-nari (Genitive of Origin): Indicates the source or origin (“from” or “originating from”). For example, vals-nari means “originating from the mountain”
And...
-nu!
Ah, how beautiful -nu is. It is used to express logic, observations, and conceptual relationships. It is the most versatile particle, capable of indicating the topic, time, purpose, and even cause and effect.
This suffix has a character that is considered “cool” and oriented toward logic and observation
-nu is used to mark the main topic of a sentence, equivalent to the words “regarding,” “as for,” or ‘about’
For example, "Vai nu"... means “As for me...”
Flexibility of Conjunctions: This suffix forms the basis for nearly all conjunctions in the Seerie language:
Purpose: Becomes nu-me (so that) or nu-ma (in order to)
Cause: Becomes nu-ve (because) or nuv-re (since)
Consequence: Can mean “so that” (nu-nel), “until finally” (nel-nu), or even express surprise due to a threshold being crossed (nee-nu)
The suffix “-na” in the Serphtic dialect of Seerie denotes the realm of emotions, interpersonal relationships, and social communication. It is a borrowed suffix that emerged when they settled in the region.
Then, I’ll introduce the common pronouns to help you understand their social system.
For I/Me
Nei: I am a woman
Vai: I am a man
For We (plural)
Nerie: We are women
Varie: We are men
For We (formal communal)
Noivael: We (women)
Vaivael: We (men)
Lunrei: We are the children moon.
For You
Noyei: You (female)
Vayei: You (male)
For You All
Ranyei: You all (women)
Ravyei: You all (men)
Lu-na: Social (this is a loanword!)
For she/he
Nomei: She
Vamei: He
Roie?: Unknown
For They
Ranei: They (women)
Ramei: They (men)
Rare: Outsiders
Furthermore, the Serphtic people do not view time as linear; rather, they understand it through the intensity of light
This perspective reflects the Serphtic people’s deep connection to the cycles of the sky and natural phenomena on the planet Metynnis.
All forms of temporal expression in this language are derived from three root words representing phases of light:
Norai (Past): light that has already reached its full brightness. This refers to things that have been proven, have reached their peak, or have already occurred
Nosei (Present): light that is currently in progress. It is present, real, and active in the here and now
Norei (Future): light that is fading. It refers to things that have not yet arrived or are still fading from their current state
Explain and Example
Now I’ll give an example of a sentence, starting with “Nei norai-varenei! Lu-na velvaoa lunvael nei velroina.”
Nei (I): First-person singular pronoun.
Norai-varenei (Has returned): A combination of the past tense root Norai (past/already happened) and the verb varenei (to remain on the path/to be in a place). Literally means “has returned to the path/place.”
Lu-na You all Guys, the social.
Velvaoa (Telling a story): From the root family Velva- (stories that build structure) with the suffix -oa (I forgot this one) for the active physical act of transforming the external world (conveying a narrative).
Lunvael (Extraordinary): An adjective meaning “like the moon.” In Serphtic culture, this is the highest compliment, signifying calm, beautiful, and evenly radiant (extraordinary).
Velroina (Sharing an extraordinary vision/story together): From the root family Velroi- (speculative/stellar stories) with the suffix -na indicating social interaction or sharing with others.

I just almost destroyed my world!
Not in terms of the plot, but I really almost destroyed the foundation that holds my world together.
Back two months ago…
When I went back to reading some classic fantasy novels and delved into the authors’ biographies.
About how these great masters wrote their worlds, the core insight I gained at that time was the foundation underlying how their worlds were formed.
This bothered me, so I reopened my worldbuilding document, my Meytnnis. What I believed at the time was that my world was already perfect with highly detailed explanations—every origin had been explained, the magic system and laws were established—until I realized something.
My world, my Meytnnis. Had lost its Miracles.
There were too many technical explanations, leaving no mystery to spark the imagination.
The world I envisioned was one of Miracles and Chaos. Two concepts that were supposed to be the foundation of my world, but both were brought down by Logic, which narrowed that foundation.
Damn it, I’m starting over from the beginning, reworking and reevaluating my world.
What I’m starting from the beginning is the Primordial Myth, followed by how this world was formed scientifically. Yes, I’m not simply abandoning logic, but there’s another obsession.
Rather than explaining everything about how this world is so realistic, I’m trying to combine Myth and Logic that mutually support the existence of this world.
This has created three major categories:
True: The truth I believe to be true.
Gray: True, but not always. This is the area that gives me breathing room; when explanations become too technical and strip away the magic, I’ll pull the emergency brake before they bring down the entire foundation.
Lie: This is where I can experiment with various perspectives from the society of my world, Meytnnis. It’s about the overlapping of truth and lies.
I’m quite satisfied with the result; there’s physical mechanics, but there’s also metaphysics that covers the illogical aspects of a phenomenon.
This reflection has changed my perspective on worldbuilding.
Katya
NAME: Yekaterina Sergeyevna Vorontsova, (Katya)
Gender: Female
Born: January 12, 1910
Age: 19 years old (as of 1929)
What I can say about her is that she is a writer. It's not a hobby, but rather the only way she exists.
There is often a misunderstanding between her writing to express her condition and writing because of her condition. These two things are considered different.
In one of the letters she wrote, she emphasized this.
I don't write despite my condition. I write because of my condition, and these are not the same thing. A body that does not provide normal feedback forces me to pay attention. Not attention in a romantic sense like a poet sitting in a park contemplating beauty. More like... someone walking on a surface that does not always tell you when it will crack. You learn to read other signs. You learn to see things that other people delegate to their bodies to feel automatically. The result is that I pay attention to too many things I shouldn't be paying attention to. And from that excess of attention, writing emerges. Not as a sublimation of suffering, but as the most logical place to put everything caught by the eye. --- Katya to Nataly
Katya suffered from Beta Thalassemia Intermedia, Acquired Congenital-like Pain Insensitivity, and mild Anhidrosis. Or, doctors in 1929 might have diagnosed her with:
“Cooley's anemia with neurological complications and sweat gland deficiency.”
She had to struggle amid medical limitations and political and economic turmoil at that time.

This map is only a rough projection. The Meytnnis people do not always rely on maps; they rely on the stars. However, this projection adequately depicts the surface of Meytnnis.
