i have to get this out of my system because the amount of uproar i have seen in the past few days about the idol glorifying mental illness bc a character says (and I'm paraphrasing) "look at her, that's why mental illness is sexy" and characters around her agree with her. and that put everyone out of their pants and i just don't understand because it's such blatant irony. the uproar isn't about how poorly the scene is executed, how on the nose this statement is, how it's meant to trigger you because they rely on you taking it literally and at face value. no, it's about this author wrote something horrible so clearly he agrees and condones it. have you guys ever heard of villains???? how does this one fly over so many people's heads, please my brothers in christ, this is such blatant untruth meant to showcase how mentally ill people in the media are exploited by their managers and whonot. it's piss poor execution with zero subtlety, the whole show is a shitshow, no one argues that. but saying the creators glorify mental illness bc they wrote a scene about exploitation of mentally ill people................. i guess every writer ever approves and loves every horrid act they write in their creations and agree with every evil motive they give their characters
okay i have seen a few more scenes. it's not that toxic team member saying mental illness is sexy that glorifies mental illness. the fact that the more the episode progresses, the more it becomes what it's criticising and whose satire it started out as. the show portrays jocelyn's team as horrible people but then the camera/costume/irl team proceeds to exploit her character just as much. that's the real issue. not clearly morally wrong characters speaking lines

you think Kaz Brekker's most iconic kill is the guy he threw overboard because he nearly killed Inej
I think Kaz Brekker's most iconic kill is the law clerk he dropped off a lighthouse because he was blackmailing a sex worker
we are not the same
I just realized.
Kaz and Wylan were both reborn in the Ketterdam Harbor.
because they can't say break a leg
*glances at Kaz*
the premise of tsats and solangelo in general
I'm at like 52% into the starless sea and i love it so much, it's weird, it's dreamy, it reminds me of the hazel wood and it's so goooood
