Fan-made variations of Digitamamon
Since I've come across only some Digimon fan variation sheets, here's a Digitamamon-themed one, which ended up being posted post-Easter. Variations already are a thing of Digimon, but this one specifically utilizes the various fields the digimon are grouped into. As mentioned above, it's not an original idea; been utilized before by artists like dorkofspace on Tumblr. But there are still lots of Digimon ahead to diversify.
NOTE: The following data about the original Digitamamon is headcanon-heavy and should not be taken for canon. Also, japanese prefixes have been taken from Google translator and OP is not a good japanese speaker.
Digitamamon (ATTRIBUTE: DATA) - the original variant utilizes the principle of the stability in the life cycle nearly all digimon go through. Since every destroyed digimon has the capability to be reborn in an egg, the eggs are, in most cases, indestructable until hatched, so the same goes for Digitamamons shell, even though its inner being and legs are (presumably) still vulnerable. If they get injured fatally, the shell loses its data and becomes destructable too. Although it is said to be the apex of evolution, no rule stays the same forever apparently as it has been recently mysteriously been able to digi-adapt (digidapt) into eight different specialized forms each representing some certain field in the digimon world. Some say that it is due to some exodimensional interference that Digitamamon shell and safety have grown weaker, forcing them to adapt to some degree.
Ahododigitamamon (ahoho = short for jap. "albatross"; ATTRIBUTE: DATA) - a peculiar variation of Digitamamon that possesses elongated shell that is weak to fall damage to some extant. About five separate occasions of falling can cause the shell to give in and break, so at one point of its species update log, Ahododigitamamon's ancestors integrated the data about the shape of sea bird eggs into its own shell, enabling it to roll in circles and not tumble down cliffs. Sometimes, when Ahododigitamamon tumbles down anyway, it pulls out its "wings" and attempts to glide back to where it fell from using air currents.
Dachodigitamamon (dacho = short for jap. "ostrich"; ATTRIBUTE: DATA) - a speedy variation of Digitamamon that is both vulnerable to being in a longer contact with heated surfaces and also can be successfully smashed by certain digimon (some of which are reported to be aliens). Dachodigitamamon has a layer of twigs and branches attached to its lower body, which, when the digimon pulls its legs in, creates a barrier between the egg and the surface, such as the hot sand. Dachodigitamamon enjoys running, but is forced to sit still and hide within tall grass to evade digimon bearing power above the durability of Dachodigitamamon's shell.
Hofudigitamamon (hofu = short for jap. "crawling"; ATTRIBUTE: VIRUS/DATA) - a brash variation of Digitamamon, which compensates the lowered durability of its shell with increased toughness of the ghoul that the shell has housed so far. The shell is not actually weak to physical attacks, but it is exceptionally flimsy against digimon that know complicated coding, a.k.a. magic. Good at clawing, grabbing and scaring digimon, Hofudigitamamon's ghoul's hands are too fidgety to be good at original handcrafting and tool use, so its raptor legs adapted instead becoming claw-like and proficient up to the point of knowing basic alchemy. Moreso, when Hofudigitamamon's ghoul sleeps or is knocked unconscious, the claws can still operate and drag the egg considerable distance.
Nebadigitamamon (neba = short for jap. "under"; ATTRIBUTE: DATA/VIRUS) - a diminutive variation of Digitamamon that has the brittlest shell amoung its fellow variations. It has a leaf glued above its body with some syrup-like substance that is secreted by the egg itself. This leaf never wilts as long as Nebadigitamamon supplies it with its own data or attaches it to some other plant for camouflage purposes. Those with a keen eye can tell something's amiss right away, as despite Nebadigitamamon's best efforts, the leaf cannot change its shape and colour, standing out like a sore thumb among surrounding foliage. If Nebadigitamamon gets discovered, it attempts to release foul odour and slime to deter attacker at first, but will fatally explode if left with no other choice.
Ondodigitamamon (ondo = short for jap. "rooster"; ATTRIBUTE: VACCINE) - a hot-headed variation of Digitamamon, whose inner ghoul-like body seems to burst into flame whenever it's poking out of the shell (except the legs). Despite looking like it's burning up, the "burning" energy of Ondodigitamamon drifts back inside the egg and reconnects with the inner body after some time. Due to this, however, the Ondodigitamamon's flame is not actually hot and is there purely for intimidation and illumination. Ondodigitamamon is a brave Digimon that is willing to put all of its data on the line and crows at a great volume to drive away Virus-types. If that doesn't seem to be enough, it attacks with its claws and spurs, fighting until threat or Ondodigitamamon themselves is vanquished.
Puradigitamamon (pura = short for jap. pronunciation of engl. "plankton"; ATTRIBUTE: DATA) - an aquatic variation of Digitamamon, whose shell, although the second brittlest among Digitamamon's variations, plays an important role of converting water enclosed oxygen into breathable air which Nebadigitamamon then sips up with its pink protrusions intervined into the shell. Nebadigitamamon can only swim when facing downwards, so it mostly just waddles along the ocean bottom, its eyes illuminating the way. While Nebadigitamamon evades foes by jumping, dodging and spewing slime, it is still comparatively weak among its fellow variations and the one that falls prey to underwater digimon, even Champions sometimes, despite being Ultimate level.
Sayadigitamamon (saya = short for jap. "pod": ATTRIBUTE: VIRUS) - a mysterious variation of Digitamamon, said to be sealed by an unknown faction into a metallic eggshell due to them fearing the power it holds within. True to this tale, Sayadigitamamon does seem to have a potent power within itself as it has proven to be able to break free to some extent and possess the ravaged machinery and wires to act in places of its former appendages. Being sealed up in the metal egg has not done good for Sayadigitamamon - to amass power huge enough to tear through the specific metal, it had to permanently consume its own legs and eyes and its unknown what became of its original eggshell, though given that Digitamamon has the power to crack it open from inside, it probably got destroyed as well. Sayadigitamamon, having went through such ordeal is mistrustful and hostile towards most beings it meets on the way.
Tamagodigitamamon (tamago = short for jap. for a dish similar to scrambled egg; ATTRIBUTE: DATA/VACCINE) - a peculiar variation of Digitamamon, brought into being by the heat of a volcano (and nearby exodimensional interference). Being a omelette/flying saucer, instead of a dragon/dinosaur, this variation has a mixed reception with the digimon already living in its area. Some are terrified of Tamagodigitamamon and others try to eat it as soon as they spot it. Tamagodigitamamon's power may have torn the eggshell apart, but, on its own, it is not brittle - the eggshell pieces are sturdy and hard enough to be used as combat shivs. Tamagodigitamamon wields the shivs by spinning and mixing around its omelette saucer and can also pop out its raptor legs anywhere outside its omelette body to deliver painful kicks.
