Hi mx batwitch. I'm a trans gal and I've heard/read that trans women can get periods. Do you have any resources about what period symptoms there are and what is similar or different between trans and cis women or anything else I might want to know about them. I've been feeling all sorts of things recently and I want to see if it might be the hormones doing their thing.
Thx
hi anon,
I just reblogged a post that I hope will be of interest to you, with a list of common symptoms :)
when it comes to trans periods, estrogen can bring about pretty much anything and everything minus the actual ovulation and menstruation. everything else—the bloating, the mood swings, the exhaustion, the soreness and aches, the weird bowel movements, even the cramping—seem to be on the table, at least per anecdotal accounts. and why not? hormones are great at what they do; estrogen doesn't care if you have ovaries or not, and there's waaaaaay more to the menstrual cycle than just the bleeding.
have a gander at the post right below this one on my blog for a fuller list, as well as some helpful notes on what's typical and what may be cause for concern.
first they came for me and i was all like "hang on, aren't you guys supposed to come for other people first" but they pointed out that they had to come for someone first and we can't all be the guy from the poem and i couldn't really argue with that logic tbh

For the record, OP appears to be thinking of the Canon a 2 cancrizans from J.S. Bach’s Musical Offering. It’s written out as a single melody that can be played forwards, backwards, and the forwards and backwards versions can be played simultaneously in counterpoint with one another.
Either that, or they’re thinking of “Jumping Queen” by Beethoven.
a little artist :)
how about nuance island for a change . does anyone want to go to nuance island
i mean it's more complicated than a simple yes or no isn't it
In theory, maybe I get the “we’re all just playing with barbies, they’re fictional characters, no interpretation is incorrect because it’s an interpretation” argument. But actually no, not all takes are equally valid. Framing something as an interpretation doesn’t mean it inherently has merit. Some takes are completely incorrect and betray a fundamental misunderstanding of the source material. They just aren’t a reason to harass people or send death threats

I really like the ideas I’ve seen about Jax’s abstraction hair showing her emotions—especially ones that she might be trying to hide :)
