truly obsessed w midousujis fashion style rn..i honestly cant tell what the designers/illustrators are going for most of the time except sum kind of alt style cos idk anything abt fashion, but my hypothesis is that at som point they needed an illustration of him in street clothes for smt but they didnt hv a ref cos.. hes always in his cycling attire cos this is a cycling anime & hes a cycling otaku whos life revolves around cycling only, & since hes a villain of sorts in the story, but most of all kind of a freak, they were like..we gotta make him wear smt edgy, he cant b wearing normie clothes on ads or merch or whatever thats not weird and/or intimidating enough. so they drew him in a kinda emo-ish outfit, n then.... had 2 keep doing that each time. THEN AGAIN maybe this was actually canon all along, maybe they asked the mangaka n they were like midousujis fashion style?? oh yeah hes rly into like,..casual(?) visual kei fashion.. he just doesnt rly hv time 2 rly buy or plan out outfits, so we dont see him wear that often(??) in the manga/anime. but trust me....idk dude but. amazing
