It seems everyone has an opinion on this latest celeb scandal so i thought i’d add my two cents as well.
I see a lot of posts saying believe the victim first, or we need to believe the woman or your’re a horrible heartless person if you don’t.
And although i do believe victims should be supported, i don’t think their gender should have any baring on whether someone is believed or not. The strength of their character should determine that. Not the size of their fame or popularity or how great a creator or talented actor they are but their character - how have they behaved in the past, what do they stand for and what have they supported?
Because if i look at those things what Bob’s stood for and supported seems contrary to what he’s been accused of.
Although i’m sure Bobs previous relationship was likely incredibly bad and it clearly did not end on a good note - i don’t think we should be trying to destroy a mans career, character and life after 1 post.
There needs to be balance, moderation, patience.
People are so quick to judge and slow to forgive.
We should feel outrage at injustices. But please remember you don’t support a victim of abuse by becoming an abuser yourself. These are still people. Don’t send them hate. That is such a cowardly thing to do.
When something like this happens bring light not darkness.
All of this is to say, im team Bob. He has always been one for patience and tolerance and although i know he’s not a saint i’ve never put him on a pedestal.
There’s 2 sides and i’m waiting to hear the other half of the story.
