Where's Mommy?
Okay…[tries to think positive thoughts.]
We’ll look along the driveway and over the wall, maybe she stopped on her way back for you to fix a tyre or a mirror or something.
Thanks!

Where's Mommy?
We… We…
You seriously don’t know?
Why are you crying?
...hello?
No, I haven’t seen him around yet. You must like him a lot, yeah?
Yeah, yeah, I do.
Don't tell him a word, though. He gives me butterflies in the stomach -- ever have that feeling? Like when you look at that one person, it's like a big gulp of soda? Carbonation in my heart, man.
Where's Mommy?
No, it’s Chase. You’re Chase.
Don’t you remember me? Don’t you… remember what we did?
What did we do?

Where's Mommy?
Oh, shut up, Chase, I know you can handle it. You’ve done worse.
No, I’m not going to hit you. I’m not stupid.
My name's Ashton.
Sorry. Sorry.
Where's Mommy?
You’re Chase.
We look alike, don't we? People tell us that all the time, but my name is Ashton.
Where's Mommy?
She sounds like my mother, but mine never really expresses any emotion.
Where did you last see her?
We were on the car? We were dropping him off someplace because his brain wasn't working right and Mommy told me to stay inside but I don't...I don't....
Where's Mommy?
I’m not doing anything.
Please don't yell at me...Please?
You're going to hit me? Please not the face
To Infinity And Beyond // Closed // Tami and Chase
Tami slowly made her way through the hallways, head down hoping not to attract any attention towards herself. She had never been outside the institution before, at least not until she’d been admitted. She felt a bit nervous about meeting with Chase, but she wasn’t scared. He seemed nice, and she felt as though she could trust him, but it was going to be a very long time before she actually did. Unfortunately, Josh had made sure of that. She found it difficult to trust, and even though she couldn’t remember what Josh had done, she still knew he had done something to her, something awful.
Tami let out a sigh of relief as she managed to reach the back door without so much as a glance her way. With a bitten lip she scanned the area for the apple tree, finally she managed to spot it on the otherside of the yard. She let out an internal yelp, before heading towards the tree where she could see Chace setting out a blanket.
She stopped in her tracks behind him. She opened her mouth, but let out no sound. After a few minutes of staring at his back, she cleared her throat. “Um…hey, Chase." she murmured, staring at her feet. “Thanks, um for…uh, i-inviting me…" she spat out, her lip quivering with nerves. After an internal struggle with her mind, she sat down in front of him. “This um, looks nice. You didn’t have to go to so much trouble…" she paused at the sight of the champagne bottle. “Oh, and…I don’t drink. Sorry…"
She looked so uncomfortable -- the bitten lip, the fish-like mouth behavior. It made him laugh a little.
"Relax, relax," Chase said, patting a spot next to him on the picnic blanket. "You look like you just wet your pants; would you just relax? The champagne's not actually champagne, it's apple juice." He grinned, pulling a few glasses out of the basket. He popped the loose cork and poured the two of them some to drink and then he handed one of them to her.
She reminded her of a girl he knew once a very long time ago. The same sad eyes, quiet demeanor, contained zest for life. And also very sweet. Of course, that girl was too sweet, saccharinely so, and it hurt to think about her so he tried not to. Tami was nice.
He took a swig and then looked at her. "So, tell me, Tami, how are you liking it here so far?"
...hello?
An apple tree? Oh, I love apples!
Freddie? …Oh! You spoke about him before, right?
Freddie.
Yeah, did you get a chance to meet him, yet?
Where's Mommy?
Oh…it’s, uh…nice to meet you too, Ashton.
No, no I don’t…there’s just Dani. There was a boy named Josh, he was kind of like a brother, but I…don’t like to think of him anymore, and I’m not sure why.
My brother is everything. He liked to make up stories for me and he liked to fly kites and we were best friends. But he had to go away because his brain wasn't working right.
Where's Mommy?
No… Chase’s brother, he’s dead… You’re Chase…
Please, please don’t do this…
Why do you look so upset? Why are you doing this?
Where's Mommy?
Of course. What does she look like?
She's very tall and she's got brown hair. Her nose crinkles up when she's angry, but not around company.
Where's Mommy?
Ch-Chase. Stop it.
Is my brother here? Is Chase here?
To Infinity And Beyond // Closed // Tami
Chase's feet padded across the brittle grass. The day was warm and the skies were dotted with patches of grey clouds, though the sun seeped through the cracks. It wasn't anything peculiar, though; Washington weather was dreary at best. But what was peculiar was the apple tree in the courtyard. Chase hadn't seen a single fruit grown from that tree in over fourty years. What was it doing now?
He tried not to dwell on it too much -- the optimism in Stygian was dwindling and he didn't want to waste its minimal supply. Freddie seemed to have forgotten the incident between Chase and Ella, Ella was...well, she was still avoiding the both of them, and Tami was nice. She was a nice girl -- a little timid, but that could be beaten out of her with a good strong drink and a few nights of fun -- and he hoped the "date" he set up would go well.
He had in his hands a bottle of champagne (that was actually full of apple juice) and a small picnic basket and blanket. He lay everything out under the large expanse of the apple tree and sat down, admiring the beauty but being unsettled by the strange shade of color the apples were.
Where's Mommy?
…I’m…I’m Tami…
No…my sister did.
My name is Ashton, yeah? Nice to...meet you, Tami.
I never had a sister, I had a brother named Chase, though. Did you have a brother?
