CHD - My Broken Heart

I was born with T.O.F (fallots) and have had open heart surgery an many other during my 26 years on earth!... I have just had another OHS replacing a valve and patching 2 more holes... Could be more in the future so I have decided to share my story for awareness!

Hello. I had a question. Do u cover your scar when you go out. I had open heart surgery 15 years ago and it never bother me untill recently I been very like ashamed and wants to hid it.

Hi Hun! Don't be ashamed, your scar shows people how strong and brave you have been! I don't cover it up, I am extremely proud of how far I have come in life, embrace your scar! 😘

hi there! I just was looking over your blog and I too have a CHD. My pulmonary valve was closed when I was born. I have to have surgery for it in a year or two and I'mm getting really nervous... thanks for sharing your story! It's making me much braver.

Hi, I also have Tetralogy of Fallots and had open heart surgery at 8 weeks old. I'm 18 now and I need another surgery sometime in the future but not sure when! How old were you when you had your first and do you have any tips for not freaking out like I do occasionally? It's scary not knowing when I'll have it done but that's life I guess😘😘 thanks xxx

I don't come on here often, I've only just seen this!... Massive hugs Hun! I was 11 months and 23 years old... Just be gentle on your body, trust yourself and make sure you listen to yourself and the doctors! Xxx

Been AGES!!!

So a few days ago I was 3 years post heart surgery!... I have never felt better... So many mixed emotions, so much happiness, so much reflection, so much love and so much family time since them! I actually love my little family! 😘

So it's been AGEEEEEES

I don't post much on this blog anymore, life at the moment is extremely hectic!... Along with housework and a never ending clothes basket, the kids take most of my time up, from school runs to cooking! Harriet is 1 now, Bradley is almost 5, life is full of ups and downs for us mostly up :) Heart wise, I've been discharged (have a feeling it's by accident) but I am referring myself back to hospital as I am not happy and need checking! As of September I started losing weight when my scales told me I was 20stone 4lb! Obviously extra weight on a heart condition is asking for trouble, I want to be here to watch my children grow and start there own family so 2 months later I am now weighing 17stone 10... Almost 3 stone!... Proud! Still got roughly 6 stone to lose but I am in the right frame of mind to do so! :)

It's been too long...

It's been far too long since my last post and ALOT has happened... - I am now 2 years post op - I am now Mrs Vincent - and we are now a family of 4!... I have given birth just 5 months ago to a gorgeous little girl to complete our family unit and to add more fun and joy to our lives!... ❤️❤️❤️❤️

This man is my amazing grandad he passed away in 2010... He was awesome and the best grandad anyone could wish for!... I wish he was here today to see how brave and strong his special girl was!... Love you loads grandad always have and I always will <3

Earlier this year I had open heart surgery, I was supposed to go to a vampire diaries convention but due to my condition I needed a carer and they refused and banned me, a company in Italy are running a similar convention and I’m a finalist to win a free pass… Now all you have to do is click the link, and like the photo! Support Group!

Since starting up PATCHES - Bravehearts I've made a lot of friends that I have a lot of things in common with... It's nice to have some people to talk to an it seems that they also think the same, some have thanked me for starting up the support network which is awesome, this is what I wanted to do, help others. CHD is 1 in 100 but 9/10 you don't no anyone else that has a heart defect until early/late 20's... I didn't no anyone until 1 year ago!... I felt so lonely growing up and the fact no body understood me growing up affected me quite a bit... I love helping people :), so rewarding!!!
