bigotry.... just because i said straight people cant conceptualize the idea of being treated the way they treat gay people? DKDJSKDMDKDMK when straight people feel an OUNCE of what it feels like to be tormented and treated like a joke your entire life, having people use your identity as an insult, THEN you can come to me talking about some bigotry. straight people will never ever be oppressed because of their sexuality and thats big facts. and dont even try to come for me with that lame ass "but double standards!!!" because heres the thing boo. these "i hate straight people" jokes are nothing compared to the "i hate gay people" jokes. because theyre not jokes. you dont see gay people rioting about straight pride. you dont see gay people banning straight people the right to adopt. or get married. or even get a fucking wedding cake. you dont ever see straight people get fucking murdered or put out onto the streets because of their sexuality. you dont see gay people fetishizing straight people, and then turning around to demonize them in the same breath. you dont see straight people have to fight for their rights as HUMANS. if youre offended by these jokes, then thats fine. thats up to you. but what you not finna fucking do, is come into my asks, and tell me how IM a bigot for making a joke that doesnt have YEARS of oppression behind it. foh. (p.s. gay people arent obligated to feel sorry for straight people or forgive them. its completely up to a gay person. again, if you want to forgive straight people and be buddy buddy with them, then thats great you do you. but mind youre fucking business and stop being so loud.)

In one episode of Brooklyn Nine Nine, they talk about how trans people have it difficult in prison. In the very next episode the sentence “Nothing is more attractive in a woman than the clear absence of a penis” is uttered.

It’s almost like B99 is a show made by liberals for liberals and its progressiveness is entirely performative.

Just want to point out since the post kind of glosses over the fact that the last sentence is uttered ironically by a gay character who is trying to pass as straight to distract a guard at a women’s prison. The running joke is that he believes straight people are transphobic and homophobic, so when he tries to pretend to be one, he acts that way. The joke is, no one around him acts like what he’s saying is off, making further commentary on how transphobic and homophobic our society is.
