Okay so first of all, we all know that a person’s soul is deeply involved in their weapon. And Jaune’s weapon was shattered after killing Penny, symbolizing the way his soul/self was shattered by being forced to do that

The pieces of the sword with Penny’s blood on them were literally broken away by Cinder. Doesn’t get much more blatant than that

As such, the reforging of Jaune’s sword is going to be deeply tied to him healing from having to kill Penny. It won’t happen until the latter half of the volume (if it happens in V10 at all) and I wouldn’t be surprised if Pietro is the one to do it

I know people have mentioned Jaune switching to only shield, but I just can’t see that. Yeah, he’s the support character, and he knows it, but he needs an offensive weapon. And besides, he doesn’t know how to fight with only a shield, it’s just not practical

That being said… the Relic of Destruction IS a sword

And Mr. “I hurt destroy everything I touch” is currently without a sword

So ya know

If they go relic of destruction route, then it makes sense that it would have a massive price to pay for it, double so considering its Jaune we are talking about here...

I mean like big consequences for example, having to give up memories in exchange, saps your lifespan in years, forces you to watch previous battles in the history of remnant in grimm detail basically tormenting you for as long as you have the sword bound to you

Lets be honest here. The reason why they didn't include JNR is that they had no abilities that translated to effective combat oriented super powers which would have resulted in them slaughtering Grimm by their weapons and skills alone which would greatly diminish the threat the Grimm pose to the DC universe. I mean imagine Jaune having a higher kill streak than the armies of the world using a sword and trying to explain that his super power has nothing to do with combat. In order to avoid having to work around that fact, the writers just decided to not include them.

TLDR JNR is too good of a combat team to be utilized

A Sad and Happy Day

The trailer for RWBY X JL part 2 dropped today...

Okay first the movie like the first part looks like a fun watch so I'm still going to watch it of course. But after the first part, I be lying to myself if I didn't say Jessica and Jaune carried the movie for me.

And the possibility of Team JNPR not showing up did take a huge chunk of my interest in the second part.

Its just a bit confusing in how the second main line team isn't in the movie, JNPR has been with team RWBY since volume 1, so them not being in this movie just feels...wrong.

Still it looks like an enjoyable watch and it might be to early to draw conclusions, so I'll keep my hope up, but not to high.

You know i really hope that there is a notable time skip for v10, because it gives a chance of a spinoff of the characters that managed to escape to Vacuo coping with the loss and tragedy of the Fall of atlas.

Just think about it, the Schnees mourning Weiss presumed death and trying to bond and be a family once again.

Oscar, ren and Nora also having to go through the grief of losing their leader and friends of team RWBY hell if it happens give a backstory to how team NERO is created (if it happens of course)

NERO: Is a possible team i tought of being formed after the fall of atlas, it consist of Nora (leader), Emerald, Ren and Oscar

Why Nora as a leader? Well i believe it would fit her character it would be a massive change, her taking on the mantle of leader wich is a big responsibility will probably maker her act far off from the Nora we normally see. (Also no hate against Oscar but putting him as a leader is waaay to obvious with that wizard in his head).

Jaune in volume 10

Jaune is back in a weird situation again, as I've seen hate on him on the rise and thought what would be a logical next step for him.

I think Jaune should go on his own journey away from Team RWBY and course from the others. Why would I say this? It's not out of malice but because of his situation. Due to his time in the Ever After being at a maximum of 20 years, he may have gotten his youth back, but the memory remains. Jaune being back (if they don't do a Marco/ status quo is god thing) should feel like a stranger back in Remnant. With this in mind, where should he go, I say to visit his family, meet Saph, Terra, and Adrian....then to see the rest of his family.

In a sense, he needs to find himself again and possibly get another mentor to train him and work on his semblance. When he returns, I do expect a shift in him more skilled, sure, but have a worldly outlook while keeping his dutybound mindset. I'm trying to think of a good comparison...Vash....Cecil Harvey... If anyone else thinks of a good choice, please say...closest I can think is Ky Kiske

I want to start a conversation. Where do you think Jaune journey should go next? Now, do I think they'll let himself be removed from the group....no, but i do think it's something he needs. Plus, it would be a chance to get him out of the spotlight, so to speak (and rwde ire, but they'll find something to say).

Honestly a really like this route because not only would it give him a greater character dev but it would also give a chance for spin-off based on his journey, lone wolf Jaune has always been a concept i liked, imo in this version he is lot more skilled maybe not superior to the strongest in the show, but he makes up with his tactics and improvisation skills, he is a lot more grounded not goofy anymore but still Jaune at heart,

What is also really important would be that he has to know the right choice even if it is choosing between two evils, morally ambiguous Jaune is perfect imo, it perfectly goes with him turning into a warrior lile his ancestors rather than a hero, he will have to make hard choices and learn to accept them (wich is something he hasn't come to terms yet in the show), also a good dive into his martyr complex
