Happy 20th anniversary to #Supernatural

This show and fandom motivated me to step out of my creative comfort zone in huge ways. I would always watch the show while working on cosplay projects. 10 years ago, I created a Dean Winchester cosplay, one of my first cosplays, and assisted @doctor--whom with his Castiel cosplay. While the costume did not demand much sewing work, I loved experimenting with prop builds and working in new mediums like paper craft and thermoplastics. I even gathered up the courage to have a cosplay photoshoot at LCTC in 2016 where I lipsynced to Eye of the Tiger on an Impala (which, for a girl who doesn’t even like the attention when people sing Happy Birthday to her, was a big deal.) That creative confidence helped me become the costumer I am today: eager to learn and proud of what I’ve accomplished.

Thank you Supernatural, not just for the stories you tell, but for inspiring the fans in so many ways. Carry on 🖤
