Well, as an education major and a college student, what I have observed and what has been reported on in the past, is the ever devaluation college degree. A really great article to describe the general atmosphere in the higher education field is this one from the new your times-
āThere is definitely some devaluing of the college degree going on,ā says Eric A. Hanushek, an education economist at the Hoover Institution, and that gives the masterās extra signaling power. āWe are going deeper into the pool of high school graduates for college attendance,ā making a bachelorās no longer an adequate screening measure of achievement for employers.ā

An article in the Educator also looks at the problem. They say thatĀ āThe devaluation of the bachelorās degree is common knowledge at every university. More incoming freshmen than ever are stating they will go on to get a graduate degree.While not admitting directly that a bachelorās degree has less value, todayās employers emphasize that the degree alone is not enough to set a candidate apart.ā

First off: a bachelorās degree is a FOUR year, not a two year, degree. Meaning this program would have no impact on anything higher than, at minimum, an associates.
Two: College education as a measure for value of potential employee means dick.
Oh, it means a lot in terms of āDO I KNOW WHAT I NEED TO KNOW TO DO THIS JOBā. And if you are applying for a job where you need to have a knowledge base--say, LCDC, RN, medical doctor, physicist--in other words, a job that requires a foundation of information that is not within the average human beingās sphere of understanding, a college degree means a lot. But thatās not something that will be devalued. And hon? The jobs that DO require that kind of understanding? The hiring requirements right now are ādegreeā and āpulseā.
But if weāre talking as a measure of your value as an employee? Having a resume that is in the field youāre applying for and/or having a resume that shows that you 1. get jobs and 2. keep jobs is far, far more valuable than the piece of paper you get from your alma mater. An employer wants to know that you will show up on time, work hard, do good work, do it consistantly, and not fuck them over the first chance you get. Having held two jobs over a four year period means more than having held six jobs in the same two year period.
A college degree signifies one thing: That you have the knowledge necessary to do the job. Not that you know more than everybody else. The bar keeps getting moved not because we have more people with the degree but because we keep finding out new things that need to be taught. In the 1800s it was easy to become a doctor compared to today. You would not want an 1800s doctor today because they wouldnāt know what to do with a bottle of Purell, let alone how to treat MRSA, sew a limb back on, or even administer proper anesthetic.
And there is nothing wrong with jobs that donāt require college degrees. These are the jobs that keep things running. They arenāt humiliating. Hell, to some people, theyāre fulfilling and they donāt want to have some higher stress job. One of the smartest people I know works at a dock as a pipe fitter. Another one left a very, VERY well paying job at a mental health facility to be a graphic artist with a major pay cut. I just left a pretty cushy place as an office worker so I could go work in a line kitchen for eight hours a day because I love it 150% more than I did that fucking goddamn office chair. Implying that easy access to education somehow damages chances of employment is an insult. Itās an insult to people who achieve college-level high paying jobs and an insult to the cook at McDonalds who, for all you know, might have a fucking Ph.D. and just prefers this because it gives him time to think.
Now. This is what those two years of free college mean: Knowledge.
Two years of free college means getting caught up on the remedial classes most people have to take because of potential gaps in their education. Two years of free college means getting the basic shit out of the way so you can move on up into the things you really want to study. It gives the individual time to decide what they want. Two years of free college means being able to use the money that might have gone to tuition to child care, medical bills, gas, rent, insurance, food, or the ten thousand other things currently standing between a potential student and a chance to learn things.
Reality is not a zero-sum game. You do not lose because somebody else gets something, nor do you win because somebody else doesnāt get something. Yeah, maybe a college degree isnāt a blank check for employment anymore, but you know what? IT NEVER SHOULD HAVE BEEN.

What is your reasoning for worshiping this God?
From all of the research I have done, this God seems so ridiculously selfish. He wants all the love for Himself and doesnāt think any other God or Goddess is deserving of any. He wants you to dedicate your entire live to Him and for Him, and nothing else.
To me, it just doesnāt seem right to worship someone so selfish.

TLDR: No, God does not want all the love. Yes, thereās a lot of āKill everything that movesā in the OT, but that wasnāt about converting other folks, but rather about starting the Israelites out with as blank a slate as you could get...using lots and lots and lots and lots of murder to get there. (Yeah, Iām not going to pretend that the Bible isnāt REALLY blood-soaked. Genesis, Exodus and Judges makes Game of Thrones look like My Little Pony, rape scenes included, and thatās before you add in Kings and Chronicles AKA the Emo Saga Of King David And His Very Fucked Up FamilyāsĀ Succession Issues) (I love David, I really do, but DAMN).
THAT SAID: the murder spree was a one time deal. Yes, the Kings of Israel tended to go jump their neighbors (Judah was slightly less war-happy, but only slightly), but these were usually diplomatic things and God did not tend to support anybody, just based on the number of times Israel (and Judah) got its ass handed back to it on a platter. The verses that most evangelicals use to support mass conversion and Chick Tracts donāt support it at all, are frequently used out of context, and usually have as much to do with the subject of evangelism as a porn mag (and, in the case of Song of Solomon, ACTUALLY IS PORN).
The whole āLetās convert everything with a pulseā thing began with Constantine and was solidified when the Roman Catholic church got its own lands, property and army. For over a thousand years they werenāt just a political power, they were THE political power. And when you are the political power, the last thing you want is anybody else challenging you for it. Converting everybody to Christianity meant that the Church itself ruled unchallenged. Thatās why the trigger for the Spanish Inquisition wasnāt witches, or paganism, but the Protestant Reformation. Christians killed millions of other Christians because the choice to worship God a little differently was a political statement that challenged the ultimate authority at the time. (Yeah. Henry the 8th creating the Anglican church was him giving the only people in England with more power than him the finger while he had hot medieval sex with Anne Boleyn. Never let it be said that Henry the 8th did not have balls.)Ā Indoctrinating people to believe that 1. this is the only way that counts and 2. you need to convert every molecule around you was an attempt to keep things together and ensure that power remains centralized. While it did not work at all, it DID get projected onto God because humans really, really like projecting their own issues onto their god-forms. The Catholic church has been fairly good about un-fucking its theology in this respect, but when the Protestants split off (namely because at the time the church was so corrupt it would make the Lannisters blush) they took that baggage with them because nobody saw a reason to chunk it even though we really REALLY should have.
So letās not confuse the Christian churchās baggage with the Christian God. Heās not real happy about said baggage, and I have a feeling the first thing heās gonna do when certain individuals make it to the Pearl Gates (Not Pearly. Single Pearl. Look it up.) is pull them aside and go āHey, we need to have one of those talks.ā
THAT. SAID. God does demand all of the individualās love, if you choose to follow him, because...thatās just the kind of god that he is. Sorry. Itās his nature. But the key phrase here is if you choose to follow him. You donāt have to and if you canāt manage a one-one deity relationship. heās REALLY clear that heād rather you didnāt try.
Every god seems to have their hard limits, and YHVHās big one is sharing. He doesnāt like it. It bugs him, brings up his jealousy issues (He apologized for those during the Crucifixion thing, but yeah, heās got āem) and breaks his freaking heart. Heās not demanding of your time and attention because he wants to bask in it like a freaking sun lamp without reciprocating. He demands it because he really, really, really gets involved with his followers. REALLY involved. Like, I-would-turn-into-a-human-and-get-crucified-for-you involved. He wants your involvement with him to equal his involvement with you. And other than faithfulness, he doesnāt ask for much. I get the feeling that he likes it when I decide to play with the incense, candles and contemplative prayer, but really his only expectations after the faithfulness thing is that you take care of other people, do a lot of self-work (A. LOT. OF. SELF. WORK. Seriously, itād probably be easier to date a psychologist.) and at least try to be healthy.
And thatās pretty much why I chose to follow him.I mean,Ā Heās got a personality. He loves to laugh, though his sense of humor is a bit...odd (never never never never NEVER pray for patience. EVER.) awesome creativity, a love of barbecue (Hence all those burnt offerings), good taste in incense, seriously questionable decorating taste (His ideal House has purple cherub-print wallpaper. PURPLE. CHERUB. PRINT. WALLPAPER. And red cashmere curtains and gold fixtures on everything aāla Liberace. I am not making this up,) and a bit of a temper if you piss him off because, hey, HE CARES. He has an astoundingly emotional knee-jerk reaction to unfaithfulness because the relationship between a Christian and YHVH is supposed to be a deeply passionate one, and that means we are talking about the passion of a fucking god. When you drop that relationship it hurts him. The freaking CREATOR GOD OF THE UNIVERSE chooses to love humans so much that he gives us the power to hurt him and itās...kind of hard for anything else to compete with that. He loves me enough to go AFK from said Universe to hold me when I cry myself to sleep, so the least I can do is not go running off to somebody else before the tear-stains have dried.
Thereās a lot of things you have to unlearn when trying to recover from an abusive childhood. But itās possible, you can do this.
