Laziness in The Dead Shall Rise
I know The Dead Shall Rise (TDSR) is a dead horse at this point, but with Ascendence coming out at the end of the month and BitBot's recent behavior on social media there is something about it I'd like to discuss. Something I haven't seen many people touch upon. That would be the use (and abuse) of copy/paste and reused panels.
The above image is one of the least offensive examples. This sort of panel re-use is common in comics where a character does not move in between panels. There was no reason to re-draw Mathias as his pose is largely unchanged. If this was the only type of copy/pasting used in TDSR, I would not be making this post.
I believe that the overwhelming majority of TDSR's pages contain at least one instance of reused content.
Examples provided below the cut. My intention is not to dissuade fans from spending their money on Ascendence, it is merely to inform others of what I consider to be questionable practice from BitBot.
chatgpt is the coward's way out. if you have a paper due in 40 minutes you should be chugging six energy drinks, blasting frantic circus music so loud you shatter an eardrum, and typing the most dogshit essay mankind has ever seen with your own carpel tunnel laden hands
hey uh, i dont really make posts or really enjoy looking at stuff like this but please help, the ai cringe has gotten to where i am.
Can you spare a minute to help this campaign?
i live near this area. they're still working on the project despite the people speaking out and resisting pretty heavily.
The Saline Township Board voted Wednesday to maintain agricultural zoning for more than 500 acres slated for a massive AI data center, thoug
here's a news article on it.
please share this around, i want to be able to have clean and safe water (especially for my cat).
fuck generative ai and what it's doing, if you support this shit i hope you parachute off a cliff and forget the parachute. <3
If you haven't heard, the em dash has been getting a lot of attention lately…
Because it was trained on pirated work—including freely accessible online writing (like fanfic, academic texts)—ChatGPT picked up patterns and quirks native to human writing.
Including (sigh) the em dash.
There are other victims here (RIP tapestry and delve 🫠), but the appropriation of the em dash—a punctuation mark beloved by writers everywhere—feels especially personal.
A kind of low-grade panic is ensuing. Writers who once memed their own em dash overuse—the greatest punctuation mark ever to grace the control-freak’s lexicon, frankly—are suddenly backing away to avoid accusations.
No. More. We have centuries of dash-abusing writers behind us. We will not sit quietly while AI repurposes our beloved stilted aside—or the just-one-more clarification the sentence demands—or the dramatic pause your comma could never—etc.
You don’t write like AI—AI writes like you.
Defend the em dash.

Can't afford art school?
After seeing post like this 👇
And this gem 👇
As well as countless of others from the AI generator community. Just talking about how "inaccessible art" is, I decided why not show how wrong these guys are while also helping anyone who actually wants to learn.
Here is the first one ART TEACHERS! There are plenty online and in places like youtube.
📺Here is my list:
Proko (Free, mostly teaches anatomy and how to draw people. But does have art talks and teaches the basics.)
Marc Brunet (Free but he does have other classes for a cheap price. Use to work for Blizzard and teaches you everything)
Aaron Rutten (free, tips about art, talks about art programs and the best products for digital art)
BoroCG (free, teaches a verity of art mediums from 3D modeling to digital painting. As well as some tips that can be used across styles)
Jesse J. Jones (free, talks about animating)
Jesus Conde (free, teaches digital painting and has classes in Spanish)
Mohammed Agbadi (free, he gives some advice in some videos and talks about art)
Ross Draws (free, he does have other classes for a good price. Mostly teaching character designs and simple backgrounds.)
SamDoesArts (free, gives good advice and critiques)
Drawfee Show (free, they do give some good advice and great inspiration)
The Art of Aaron Blaise ( useful tips for digital art and animation. Was an animator for Disney. Mostly nature art)
Bobby Chiu ( useful tips and interviews with artist who are in the industry or making a living as artist)
Sinix Design (has some tips on drawing people)
Winged canvas (art school for free on a verity of mediums)
Bob Ross (just a good time, learn how to paint, as well as how too relax when doing art. "there are no mistakes only happy accidents", this channel also provides tips from another artist)
Scott Christian Sava (Inspiration and provides tips and advice)
Pikat (art advice and critiques)
Drawbox (a suggested cheap online art school, made of a community of artist)
Skillshare (A cheap learning site that has art classes ranging from traditional to digital. As well as Animation and tutorials on art programs. All under one price, in the USA it's around $34 a month)
Human anatomy for artist (not a video or teacher but the site is full of awesome refs to practice and get better at anatomy)
Second part BOOKS, I have collected some books that have helped me and might help others.
📚Here is my list:
The "how to draw manga" series produced by Graphic-sha. These are for manga artist but they give great advice and information.
"Creating characters with personality" by Tom Bancroft. A great book that can help not just people who draw cartoons but also realistic ones. As it helps you with facial ques and how to make a character interesting.
"Albinus on anatomy" by Robert Beverly Hale and Terence Coyle. Great book to help someone learn basic anatomy.
"Artistic Anatomy" by Dr. Paul Richer and Robert Beverly Hale. A good book if you want to go further in-depth with anatomy.
"Directing the story" by Francis Glebas. A good book if you want to Story board or make comics.
"Animal Anatomy for Artists" by Eliot Goldfinger. A good book for if you want to draw animals or creatures.
"Constructive Anatomy: with almost 500 illustrations" by George B. Bridgman. A great book to help you block out shadows in your figures and see them in a more 3 diamantine way.
"Dynamic Anatomy: Revised and expand" by Burne Hogarth. A book that shows how to block out shapes and easily understand what you are looking out. When it comes to human subjects.
"An Atlas of animal anatomy for artist" by W. Ellenberger and H. Dittrich and H. Baum. This is another good one for people who want to draw animals or creatures.
Etherington Brothers, they make books and have a free blog with art tips.
📝As for Supplies, I recommend starting out cheap, buying Pencils and art paper at dollar tree or 5 below. If you want to go fancy Michaels is always a good place for traditional supplies. They also get in some good sales and discounts. For digital art, I recommend not starting with a screen art drawing tablet as they are usually more expensive.
For the Best art Tablet I recommend either Xp-pen, Bamboo or Huion. Some can range from about 40$ to the thousands.
💻As for art programs here is a list of Free to pay.
Clip Studio paint ( you can choose to pay once or sub and get updates. Galaxy, Windows, macOS, iPad, iPhone, Android, or Chromebook device. )
Procreate ( pay once for $9.99 usd, IPAD & IPHONE ONLY)
Blender (for 3D modules/sculpting, animation and more. Free)
PaintTool SAI (pay but has a 31 day free trail)
Krita (Free)
mypaint (free)
FireAlpaca (free)
Aseprite ($19.99 usd but has a free trail, for pixel art Windows & macOS)
Drawpile (free and for if you want to draw with others)
IbisPaint (free, phone app ONLY)
Medibang (free, IPAD, Android and PC)
NOTE: Some of these can work on almost any computer like Clip and Sai but others will require a bit stronger computer like Blender. Please check their sites for if your computer is compatible.
So do with this information as you will but as you can tell there are ways to learn how to become an artist, without breaking the bank. The only thing that might be stopping YOU from using any of these things, is YOU.
I have made time to learn to draw and many artist have too. Either in-between working two jobs or taking care of your family and a job or regular school and chores. YOU just have to take the time or use some time management, it really doesn't take long to practice for like an hour or less. YOU also don't have to do it every day, just once or three times a week is fine.
Hope this was helpful and have a great day.
"also apologies for any spelling or grammar errors, I have Dyslexia and it makes my brain go XP when it comes to speech or writing"
Boosting this in case any of the programs and books suggested are useful.
All the photos on this tumblr ad the animal photo reference site I run is another resource available for artists to use!
As long as you’re not using AI to create your art, you can reference / trace / draw / recombine / make any sort of art you want, with any of the photos, for free.
There's also MORPHO, a really good book series on anatomy by Michel Lauricella, with very clear explanations and sketches!
And for pose references, there's @adorkastock who shares a ton of them for free, with different models and props, and her website is amazing <3 you can also buy pose packs from her.
And the best thing for learning how to create art in any medium is practice.
100 rough gestural sketches are better than 1 meticulous drawing where you spent months (and eventually gave up) trying to get everything perfect
It’s going to look bad until it doesn’t- and when it doesn’t look bad anymore- you’re going to feel so proud.
It’s about being able to translate what you see & think in reality & developing muscle memory so you don’t even have to think about how to draw that hand- you just know
HOW TO TURN OFF GOOGLE AI in GMAIL:
Open Gmail in your browser
Click on the Gear Icon ⚙️ in the upper right
In the General Tab, scroll down to "Smart Features" and UNCHECK THE BOX. It is about halfway down.
Then, right below that is Google Workspace smart features. Click on the "Manage Workspace Smart Features" and make sure both toggles are OFF
Important note: you must do this from a computer. Doing it from a phone browser does not work.
Thank you for this OP! I went looking for the settings in my phone and they weren't in the app.
i do have to say that no matter how shitty any sort of media is or how shitty your own creations are. always remember
Reblog if your art project has not, does not, and never will make use of generative ai at any point in your creative process.
So... just found out about the situation with CorpseSyndrome. I hope everyone who was involved in the situation is okay and safe, and my condolences go out to the daughters, the family, and the friends of the father. What happened was horrific...
Here's the information about the situation.

I honestly don't even know what to think anymore. I'm just in shock and horrified. I was a fan of MTMB since I was young, and while I was more of a silent lurker, it and Corpse's art really inspired me a lot, and hearing about what happened was so disheartening and horrible; I almost didn't believe it. I don't know how to feel about MTMB anymore.
I hope we find out more about what happened in May, because I hope that what happened isn't true and a misunderstanding, but judging by the information we have at the moment, that's probably unlikely, and if what Corpse did is true, accident or not, I hope CorpseSyndrome suffers through severe consequences and is kept locked away from the public.
Neil Cuckman has a fucking problem with women.
my best friend @chromaticnoodles replayed all of @michaelathisten 's games recently and i had the idea of drawing the silly doctor himself!
i like how it came out ngl
An animation of Rayman never seen online since 2001!
Hi everyone, I made a great discovery! While rummaging through my box of Rayman Rush, I noticed that the Yamakasi movie had a collector edition which contains a ton of Rayman goodies, and notably an animation that has never been shared online since 2001!
That's right, this is Rayman and Globox in their Rayman M / Arena versions doing some funny flips on a roof, Yamakasi-style!
The CD-ROM from the box set also contains:
-A demo of Rayman 2 The Great Escape.
-Two Rayman M wallpapers of Rayman and Tily.
-A Rayman M screensaver.
-A Rayman M theme, with five cursors, six sounds, an icon library (and the Rayman background again).
-A French trailer of Rayman M, which you can also watch below!
It also contains an executable that can launch all of those features, though some may not work correctly on modern devices.
Here's what the collector set looks like! Luckily, despite the obvious age of the box, the discs were in mint condition thanks to its caring previous owner! :)
All of this has been archived!
Rayman bonus content provided with the French collector CD of Yamakasi.YouTube previews:Rayman as Yamakasi exclusive animation:...
It's crazy to think that this was lying right under our noses for the past 24 years! I was genuinely believing that such a thing must have been shared many times on the Internet since 2001, but little to no one even knew about any Rayman/Yamakasi collab despite some releases of Rayman M and Rush promoting it! :0
If you ever think you may have found something rare, please look it up and share it if it's not already online, so many media get forgotten despite some of them being pretty easily available for decades!
I hope this nostalgic discovery brought you a smile, and have a fantastic day! :)
