My dog has flipped my laptop more than once. I’ve learned it’s better to give him a few moments of love.

For anyone who doesn't get that this virus is a real thing, a painful thing, a vicious thing: I have two friends with it. One recovering at home but the other is in a hospital bed, going on a week, in a medically induced coma and on a ventilator.
Numbers start small-maybe 3 people in your town have it. Then it becomes 15, then 30, then 44. . before you know it, it's a 100+ and rising. People are recovering but also people are dying.
Be careful. Take all the steps and precautions.

I've had an emotional day. Ups and downs. Two people I know have recovered from Covid but it was a nasty ordeal and one friend was hospitalized for a long time, unable to breathe on her own. Both are at different levels of healing.
But I know others, too who are newly ill. So, I'll do what I can and remember that we don't want people who are super high risk and vulnerable to get this virus. We take these measures so it doesn't happen. Do what you can to protect the people who are the most vulnerable of *us.* We are one.
Thank you so much to people who reached out to express that they care. I appreciate it.
I also had Covid-19. It was the sickest I’ve ever been; I’m 55 yrs old so that’s saying a lot. My greatest fear was to go to the hospital and die alone. So I stayed home, dealt with 104.7 fever and hallucinations. My lips turned blue. I prayed so hard.
I work in social services and lost 2 of “my guys” to this virus. Currently have 7 more in the hospital in various stages of illness.
So for those who say it isn’t real, I say nothing. However, 🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻

Time to propel forward....
We really need to normalise exercising and eating well for reasons other than losing weight or building huge amounts of muscle. I’ve started going to the gym recently to relieve stress and help me sleep but despite the fact that I fit into shirts and skirts in size small, I’ve been asked if I’m trying to lose weight numerous times.
Here’s a list of non-aesthetic reasons to exercise:
relieves stress
keeps you healthy
improves sleep
can have a positive effect on mental health
makes you stronger and fitter
something to focus on other than work/school/uni
IT’S RECOMMENDED AS PART OF A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE

My parents….
Yes, submissives have parents. We’re not hatched. I have this photograph of them framed on a wall. She was his princess. He was always looking at her like this, even on her death bed. They wouldn’t have even known what D/s was, but they lived it.
She openly and utterly adored him. She knew his every need and saw to it without needing to be asked. She relied on his calm. He was her rock.
He created a world of order and predictability. He never raised his voice or his hand. He always made the decisions after they talked through things. But he decided.
They had rituals and protocols, although they never called them that. And when Alzheimer’s came to slowly steal her mind, their decades of these were the only thing that soothed and calmed her. Even when she didn’t know his name, she responded to “Who’s my best girl?” with “I’m always my best for you.”
And when it was time for her to go, he looked down at her, placed his hands over her eyes, closing them “Shhhh… it’s time for you to rest. Go on now. Go and get things ready for me. I’ll be along shortly.”
Hand to God, her last words were “Yes Sir….”
She died quietly about 36 hours later.
My parents had no idea what D/s is. But they lived the principles of the Power Exchange. And I am certain everything was ready for him when he joined her.
Holidays always get me thinking about them….
This story is so sweet that I choose to believe it is true and am reblogging it to make more people smile.

It was only after my own entry into D/s that I recognized the Power Exchange in their marriage. My short blurd about them skipped over the ravages of Alzheimer’s and how it broke our hearts. It avoided the dark sadness that weighed on him for the years he carried on alone after her death.
My dad was a class act and always teaching me how to live with dignity and honor by example. When he died at home with us, he was mostly semi-conscious for a day or so when he had a short burst of energy. He woke up, and asked for chocolate ice cream and wine. He ate a few bites, drank a few sips and said he was tired and “Hey, thanks for your all help…” He went to sleep and died the next day.
His last life lesson to me was….
Eat the Chocolate
Drink the Wine
Always Say Thank you
