If a leadership figure (or anyone, honestly) calls for unity in one breath and then calls out a member of a group they are not a part of for being a "problem," they are not actually calling for unity.
Look at what your political and spiritual leaders are saying after they make the socially required call for peace.
If yesterday they begged for unity and today they are referring to members of another political party, ethnicity, or religion as especially violent or problematic, ask yourself why they want you to not to trust that group. Ask THEM why. Because with those words, They are not actually calling for peace.
Make them explain themselves.
