Fandom: Katekyo Hitman Reborn – Toyko Ghoul
To say that Tsuna was surprised was an understatement. In fact, Tsuna didn’t know if there was a word in existence to describe what exactly he felt. Until this very moment, most surprises in his life have been negative and mostly caused by a sadistic Arcobaleno who created more problems than should actually be possible. He never thought that he would have any pleasant surprises in his life after getting involved with the Mafia, to be honest.
But here he was, sitting in a coffeehouse in some garden, being ‘protected’ by this strange new project his friends got him into and drinking the best hot chocolate he ever had. Really, this one even beat the ones his mum makes and that had been impossible until this very moment, or so Tsuna thought. The young Mafia-boss-to-be wondered how exactly Kaneki-san, that was at least the name he read on the barista’s name tag, could create such a great flavor. Another boy was sitting at the other end of the table and patiently waited for Tsuna’s reaction.
For once, things were actually going pretty well. Tsuna could wander around without suddenly being attacked by some random mafiosi and there was nothing he had to worry about. He even found a nice new friend with whom he could talk about his problems with Reborn. And his new friend, Allen, didn’t cause any problems when Tsuna left him alone. He loved his friends and family, sure, but sometimes they could be too much for him to handle. Just take a look at Hibari and Mukuro. They were probably causing trouble somewhere right now and… on second thought, don’t take a look at them. Concentrate on the lovely scene right here, focus on the hot chocolate and the nice people who made that perfect drink possible. Well, it was actually not ‘people’ that made the hot chocolate. It was more the barista boy and his best friend.
“This hot chocolate is incredible, Kaneki-san.” Tsuna said while smiling at the boy in the barista uniform who was still standing behind the counter. “That’s Anteiku quality, you won’t find anything better! Kaneki’s coffee is even better than his hot chocolate.” The blond boy answered with a happy grin. Kaneki’s face turned slightly red and his best friend starting laughing. “Hi-Hide, don’t say stuff like that. There are people that are way better than I am.” “But your coffee is still better than the one the girls serve in the main building,” Hide defended his earlier statement. Kaneki just sighed as he finished cooking his own cup of coffee.
Kaneki wasn’t really sure how he should feel about the coffeeshop he and Hide found hidden behind the main building. He was actually even more confused to see an uniform in his size and with a name tag on it that clearly read his own name. Where did those girls get their information, anyway? But Hide seemed quite happy and demanded his coffee. Soon after that, a short middle school kid, who introduced himself as Tsuna, walked in. This was not Anteiku and it would never be, but since he and Hide found this place and Tsuna did, too… maybe some of his old friends would find the coffeehouse as well? At least, he hoped so.

Hinata stood in front of a large building. A little sign next to the big door said “Library – Please come in and enjoy yourselves”. He wasn’t someone who liked books very much, Hinata just never had the patience to sit down long enough to read more than a page when he could be outside and training. But Kageyama seemed to have gotten lost while chasing after him and maybe Hinata would find enough people to have a match with inside, so he shrugged and entered the library. Hinata saw bookshelves. Lots of bookshelves. Everywhere around him were people, some sitting in armchairs, others standing in front of the bookshelves, but all of them were reading. With big eyes and mouth hanging open he walked through the aisles, here and there bumping into a person, an armchair, or a person sitting in an armchair. As soon as the first amazement went by, Hinata noticed the books were arranged after genres. But as he looked at the sign for the section he stood in, he gasped in surprise. “Complexes and how to overcome them”, was written there. ‘What kind of genre is that?’ Just as he decided to leave, he noticed a movement in the corner of his eye. Hinata turned around to see a boy about his size with a red cloak and blonde, braided hair standing on the other end of the corridor. He was holding a book and he behaved like he didn’t want to be seen. “Oooi! What are you doing over there? Wanna play volleyball?”, Hinata ran towards the boy. Latter jumped and looked up “Ehm…I…volleyball?”, the boy looked confused. “Yes, Kageyama and I are looking for teammates to- Oh, I forgot to introduce myself, I’m Hinata Shouyou, who are you?” “Edward…Edward Elric” ‘Eh? A foreigner? Well, he sure doesn’t look japanese. Their names are other way around aren’t they? So his name would be Elric Edward…should I call him Elric? That sounds strange…and he is so young! Maybe I could call him Edward… or is that rude?’ Just as his head seemed to explode, Edward (he would just call him Edward, that sounded best) spoke again. “What’s volleyball?” “You don’t know- okay, I guess I can explain it, you just have to”, as Hinata took a deep breath to get ready for a demonstration, his eyes fell on a book lying on the ground. Edward must have dropped it. He realized that a second later and tried to grab it, but Hinata was faster. “Height complex? Grow out of it!”, he read. ‘That’s really a bad pun.’ “Give that back!”, Edward’s face was bright red as he snatched the book from Hinata’s hands and hid it behind his bag. “Why are- “, he began, when realization hit him. “You got a height complex? Why? I don’t have one and you’re just as short as-“ “I am not short! Don’t call me short!”, Edward shook his fist angrily in Hinata’s direction. “Ah, but it’s okay! Really, you see, I am short but I can jump! I’m sure you have something to make up for your shortness, too!” “I. Am not. SHORT!”, the other yelled. ‘Wow, he has the same temper Kageyama has. Maybe I should leave him alone…I don’t want to find out if he has the same glare, too.’ “Sure, ehm...I’m sorry…”, Hinata began, but before he could say anything more, Edward seemed to calm down, well, a little, turned around and stormed off, mumbling. All Hinata was able to hear was “…gotta kill that useless colonel for bringing me here.” “Oi, so do you wanna play volleyball or not?”, he called after him. No answer. ‘I guess I have to keep looking.’
This one’s a bit short (still waiting on those prompts!)
Fandoms: Haikyuu!! – Ookiku Furikabutte “Kageyama, come on! They have a volleyball court, let's go play!” As the short redhead dragged his teammate along, Kageyama could only try to keep up. “Hinata! We're not even enough people for a match- Would you stop?!” That effectively stopped him in his tracks. The setter sighed in relief before noticing that Hinata wasn't moving at all. “Hina-” “But I wanna play!” he cried out in despair. Then, his eyes suddenly lit up in realization, “We need more teammates!” Kageyama groaned, running a hand down his face, as Hinata bounced off to the first person he saw. As he reluctantly followed, he got a better look of the boy his teammate had approached. The dark blond hair would've signified a delinquent if it weren't for his posture, hunched over, arms around himself, head down. Either he was really shy or really scared. Judging by his incredibly startled reaction when Hinata addressed him, he thought it might be a bit of both. He sighed as Hinata asked him to play with them and then started bombarding him with questions when he didn't get an answer right away. Fed up, he grabbed Hinata by the back of his shirt and pulled him away from the poor boy, who by now looked like a terrified, cornered bunny. “Hinata!” “What?” he tilted his head obliviously and Kageyama, eyebrow twitching, had to suppress the urge to give him a good slap over the head. Instead, he ignored the little firecracker and turned towards the stranger, not quite knowing what to do. He didn't know what his face looked like at the moment, but apparently it wasn't very nice since the boy just cowered away from him. Just as he was about to apologize for the dunce beside him, Hinata spoke up. “Hey, what's your name?” The boy flinched and took several seconds before replying, gaze still fixed to the floor. “Mi-miha... shi... R-r-r-ren...” Kageyama raised an eyebrow. He had barely heard that. Mimihashi Ren? Hinata just smiled “Mihashi Ren?” Mihashi gave a small, almost imperceptible nod, “Cool! I'm Hinata Shouyou and this guy here is Kageyama Tobio. Ne, ne, why don't you play volleyball with us?” The flinch this time was somehow even more pronounced than the first one and Mihashi kept nervously glancing sideways, as if looking for an escape route, “...I-I... I don't... volley... I... base... pitch...” with every word he spoke even more quietly so Kageyama could barely make it out. What the heck was he saying? This guy was incomprehensible! “Oh, so you play baseball?” another tiny nod, “And you're a pitcher too! How cool!” Kageyama looked on in disbelief. How had this guy deciphered that kind of mangled speech?! ...then again, with Hinata's usual communication skills, the notion didn't seem as farfetched. “Well, we're gonna keep looking for people to play with. See you around, Mihashi!” he grinned before running off. Kageyama scrambled to follow after the sudden departure. “Hinata! Oi! Don't just run off like that, you idiot!” seriously, why was he so overly energetic today! Five minutes later, Abe finally found Mihashi in a corner of the room, still spazzing and twitching in absolute happiness. 'He called me cool!' Abe had no idea what had him in such a good mood, but decided not to look a gift horse in the mouth as he caught his pitcher's attention with a wave.

Fandom: Katekyo Hitman Reborn – D.Gray-man Tsuna wasn't quite sure what to do. The supposed “opening ceremony” had been over a few hours ago and mostly everyone had spread around. His family was off to who knew where (something about keeping Reborn from finding him?) and he was still freaking out because he had no idea how he'd gotten himself in this situation – not that he hadn't lived through weirder stuff, but at least then he knew how he'd ended up there... most of the time. As he looked around for something to distract himself with before he went on full out panic mode, he noticed a large billboard to his right with an appropriately large sign above it that read “What do you want to do today?”. Figuring he had nothing better to do he walked up to it. On the far right was a chart that listed the basketball court, the volleyball court, the baseball field, the football field... how big was this place?! Trying to shake off the shock, Tsuna's gaze slid to the left, over leaflet after leaflet detailing all kinds of activities, until one caught his eye. [How to avoid your teacher from hell!] [Forced into an apprenticeship you never really wanted? Is your teacher a downright demon? Fear not!] [Seminar starts at 5:30 p.m. in Room B 503] Stunned, he moved to stand directly in front of the sheet – or tried to at least, instead bumping into someone in the process. “Waaaah! Sorry! I'm so sorry!” “Oh! It's alright. Really! No harm done.” a smooth, youthful voice answered. Tsuna looked up, brown eyes meeting silver ones. The person before him seemed to be only slightly older than him, even if his snowy hair suggested otherwise (then again, Onii-san also had white hair for some reason). He rubbed the back of his neck nervously, “Sorry.” The other boy just smiled, “I mean it. There's no need to apologize, um...” Tsuna stared for a moment before he realized what the other was getting at with a yelp. “S-sawada Tsunayoshi! That's my n-name, sorry. You can call me Tsuna.” he introduced himself with a nervous smile. The stranger's smile grew brighter, “I'm Allen Walker. It's nice to meet you, Tsuna.” Tsuna blinked, “Your Japanese is really good for a foreigner. Ah! Not that it's bad that you are one, just...” And there went his mouth again, talking without permission. Allen frowned a bit in confusion, “Foreigner?” A blush of embarrassment spread across the brunet's cheeks, “A-ah, well, I'm not quite sure where we are, but everyone's speaking Japanese so I thought we were still in Japan...” “Japanese...?” Allen's frown deepened a bit, “I was under the impression that we've all been speaking English.” Tsuna stared wide eyed for a moment, “...eh?” They stared at each other, vexed, the very same thought crossing both their minds. Weird... Unable to take the awkward silence any longer, Tsuna opted to change the subject, shoving the whole language ordeal to the back of his mind, “W-were you also looking at that flier?” Allen blinked at the question but answered anyway, “Ah, yeah. I've already fled my master, but a few extra pointers wouldn't hurt. You know, just in case he decides to show his face again.” He seemed to be glaring at something far away before looking back at Tsuna with a curious expression, which he interpreted correctly. “Hah~ You're lucky you managed to escape him. My tutor won't go away until I become a Mafia boss – which I don't want to do, for the record – and even then it's not a guarantee.” “Are his methods also...” Tsuna smiled wryly, “Absolute torture? Yes, definitely.” Allen winced sympathetically, “You have my sympathy... and my condolences.” Tsuna released a startled laugh at that and Allen's expression just grew more amused, “I never thought I'd be able to laugh about that.” Allen chuckled in response. A familiar, monotonous voice suddenly reached Tsuna's ears, “Bel-senpaaai~ Stop throwing knives at me.” He froze up, taking a quick glance towards the direction the voice had come from. Sure enough, he caught sight of a tiara sitting atop messy blond hair and an apple shaped hat. Without thinking, he gabbed Allen's hand and ran for the closest door. Allen's eyes widened and he tried not to stumble as he was dragged around, “Wha-! Tsuna! Why the sudden hurry?!” Tsuna almost tripped over air at the question, “Uh, to the seminar! Yeah.” A look of bewilderment took over Allen's features, “But that's in an hour!” “Uh...” inwardly cursing, he scrambled for a response, “We- we can explore! This place is huge! And we have time, right?” Allen looked at him weirdly and asked him to slow down, but conceded. Tsuna sighed in relief. No way was he staying in the same room as the Varia.
Mou~! nobody’s sending us prompts so I have to make up my own stuff. how mean! I better see some prompts in my inbox in the next few days! -sigh- meanwhile, have some introductory fluff! Also you can interpret Kaneki’s thoughts and behavior however you want.
Fandom: Tokyo Ghoul Kaneki Ken was very confused. Okay, so apparently he was stuck in this place with lots of other people that was supposed to... protect them? And there had been something about baked goods, but he couldn't quite remember the relevance of that particular part. Also, some of the uniformed girls were smiling and giggling at him – and at every other person in the middle of the room, really, but he still didn't feel comfortable with the attention. It was a bit creepy. Just a little. Maybe a lot. Everyone else seemed to be mingling, but he didn't quite feel like it. It was hard to imagine that anyone would accept such a drastic situation so easily. Then again, who was he to talk? He had lived through his fair share of drastic situations. As he ran a hand through his hair in a show of nervousness, a strand of black fell back in front of his eyes. Hm, weird... for some reason it felt... nostalgic? No, that couldn't be it. Before he could ponder any further, a vaguely familiar sound caught his attention until he finally recognized it. “Kaaaaaaaneeeeeeeeekiiiiiiii!” He turned around – only to be tackled to the floor by a sunny coloured blur. “Ow! Wha- that- you-” he stuttered for a moment before regaining his ability to speak, “H-hide?” “Kaneki, you're so mean~!” his best friend whined. Startled, he could only utter a questioning sound from beneath the blond. “I haven't seen you in so long! What's with that?! You completely abandoned me! Is it a girl? It's a girl, isn't it?” “E-ehhh?!” Kaneki exclaimed as a blush of embarrassment spread over his face, “No! How do you even come up with these things?” The mop of blond hair that had been blocking his vision shifted and a slightly surprised and somewhat shrewd expression took its place, “Really?” He beamed and finally got off of his friend to sit properly. “Then it's okay!” Kaneki sweatdropped as he sat up. 'Why?' “Ne, Kaneki, who brought you here?” “Huh? Oh, eh, Touka-chan did.” “Touka-chan's here?” Hide's eyes widened as he pointed an accusatory finger at him, “So it was a girl!” Kaneki felt like his cheeks would burn off at any moment, “H-hide!” he yelled in outrage, then closed his eyes and shook his head in exasperation as the blond laughed, “And you?” “Huh?” “Who brought you here?” he said with a small, almost chiding smile – Listen when people talk, you airhead. “Oh! Ehehe~” Hide smiled sheepishly at Kaneki's expression, “Amon-san brought me here.” Kaneki put a hand to his chin as he thought. Amon? That sounded slightly familiar... Hide waved his hand in dismissal “Ah, you wouldn't know him. He's from the CCG.” Kaneki sent him an incredulous look. 'And how do you know people from the CCG?' Their conversation was interrupted by one of the uniformed girls with a trolley asking if they wanted anything to drink. Taken aback by the sudden intrusion, Kaneki ordered on instinct, “May I have a cup of black coffee?” after which he mentally berated himself because he didn't really want anything to drink. Still, he accepted the cup she offered him shortly after. Hide smirked at him in a way that made him nervous. Reluctantly, he spoke up, “What?” “Your social skills are as bad as ever, Kaneki~.” The half-ghoul muttered something that sounded suspiciously like “Oh, shut up.” as he hid his mouth behind the cup and took a sip. Immediately, his eyes widened as he identified something different in the coffee, something he was by now intimately familiar with. (Something that made his hunger ebb away, if only just a little.) A voice broke him out of his shock, “Kaneki? Are you okay? You look like you've seen a ghost.” “A-ah, no.” he stuttered as he scrambled for an excuse, “It's just, uh, this is really good. The coffee I mean.” “Oh?” Hide seemingly left it at that, but a look into his eyes quickly revealed that he didn't believe one word. “Ah! Look, Kaneki!” he suddenly yelled, “There's Touka-chan! I wanna go greet her!” Hide stood up, dragging his friend with him, who was valiantly trying not to spill his coffee. As the blond went further ahead, Kaneki smiled to himself. 'I missed you too, Hide... But...' He looked down at the half empty cup in his hands. '...this place sure is strange.' After all, the girl had smelt one hundred percent human.

Welcome to the C.R.P.P.!
On a bright, sunny day, two figures walked through the courtyard of a large building. The first was a bit tall, although perhaps not so much. They walked with conviction, gaze sharp and practically oozing protectiveness. The second one, being almost dragged along by the first, was not tall but not quite short either. They followed along, trying to catch up with the first's long, determined stride, confusion written all over their face. If there was one word to describe them, it would be... Endearing. As the two figures entered the building, they found themselves inside a large, crowded hall. The mass of people milling about was as diverse as could be, but almost every single one looked as confused as they were. The second figure startled when they realized that their companion was gone from their side, but calmed down after catching sight of them a few seconds later. How odd. They was lining up with the rest of a long row of vaguely menacing looking people that went from one side of the hall, all the the way to the back and to the other side. What were they doing? The figure's attention was suddenly redirected towards the small stage in the middle of the room (had that always been there?) where a woman in some sort of uniform had started speaking into her microphone. “Hello, everyone! You can all call me Queen, and I am more than proud to welcome you all to the Cinnamon Roll Protection Program!” Queen? Cinnamon roll? What? A faint voice made the figure look to their right, where a girl in the same uniform as the woman on stage was apparently offering them some sweets. “A-ah, no thanks.” she just smiled and went to move on to the next person, but stopped when they spoke up, “Uhm, is that really her name?” they inquired, pointing at the stage. She looked surprised for a moment before she replied, “No, not really. We just call her Queen.” “...why?” “Because of all of us, she's the biggest fangirl, the queen!” The biggest... what? She giggled a bit at their utter befuddlement before turning to the next person, “You'll get it sooner or later.” she called over her shoulder. The figure just stood there, but the woman on the stage demanded their attention once again. “All of you have been brought here by people who cherish you and want you to live a long, happy life. For your protection, as well as for your mental, emotional and physical well-being, you all have been enrolled into the Cinnamon Roll Protection Program, the C.R.P.P., with permission from your families, guardians or responsible person, of course. “Leave all your worries behind! Here, we want you to grow and learn and interact without any negative distractions.” Wait, wait, were they being kept here? But what about- “And don't worry about all these unfamiliar things! Many of the people who agreed to bring you here have volunteered as guards for our facilities.” she gestured towards the row of people the figure's companion had joined and some manner of understanding dawned on them, “Of course, they will be working in shifts so they'll have plenty of time to join you the rest of the time.” It was as if the entire room had released a collective sigh of relief. Borderline creepy, really. “So now, we hope you have fun! There will be much to do, many people to meet, so don't be shy and mingle a bit! We hope to make your stay a happy, unforgettable one, so if you need anything, simply ask any member of our extensive staff, recognizable by this uniform.” she said, gesturing to herself. “So once again, have fun! Talk to the person next to you!” Startled by the last sentence, the figure reflexively looked to their left, meeting another person's gaze. The two stared at each for a moment before simultaneously breaking into twin sheepish smiles. “Well, I guess we're stuck here for a while, heh.” The other person huffed amusedly. A small smile pulled at the figure's lips, “I guess.”
