"the ghosts that inhabit this place are more alive than you'll ever be" is an unfairly intense quote to be under a tiktok comment
You know, an interesting tumblr transformation that's happened gradually, and which I've seen no one talk about: ask-culture has essentially dropped off to nothing.
By which I mean, asks used to be WAY more of the tumblr economy. They used to be more common to send, and receive, and see. They were integral to the collaborative, forum-like behavior of old tumblr communities, not even to speak on the HUGE number of ask-blogs that used to exist to only be interacted with in ask-form.
I'm not saying this in a vying-for-attention way but instead in an observational way: I used to get way way more asks in like 2015, even with a fraction of my follower count. I wonder if it's due to the homogenization of social media sites? There's a lot more of this divide between "content creator" and "consumer" instead of just a bunch of peer blogs who would talk to each other. "Asks" aren't really a thing on twitter, are they? And as I understand it, the closest thing to an "ask" on instagram or tiktok would be a creator screenshotting some comment and responding to it in a new reel or video or whatever those content mediums are. Are asks just too tumblr-specific? Is that aspect of the site culture dying out as more and more people converge to using all their social media sites in the same way?
it's probably from assholes making asks a minefield of trolling/harassment for years with no real blocking ability, which turned people off from allowing asks on their blogs so as a whole the site moved away from it
but now that we do have better blocking, we should try to revive it.
Reblog if your ask box is open.
If you want to be married, what do you want to do with your last name?
I'm married - I have my partner's last name
I'm married - my partner has my last name
I'm married - I have a hypenated/combined last name
I'm married - I didn't change my last name
I want to be married - I'll probably have my partner's last name
I want to be married - my partner'll probably take my last name
I want to be married - I'll probably have a hypenated/combined last name
I want to be married - I probably won't change my last name
I don't want to get married
My marriage and or last name situation is more complicated
No judgement for anyone's choice! I'm just curious what folks think/have done in these situations. If you've been married multiple times, answer for your most recent/current one, or what you would do if you got married again.
We hyphenated which kinda sucks because my maiden name alone is already longer than most forms allow. But it does get comical… because most people will see my last name and get cranky and say why didn’t you just pick up the shorter last name… i am sorry but i spent all of k-8 biting teachers who said “ugh your name is too long, you should marry someone with a short easy to pronounce name… like Casey” and the poor dude would just get me raging at him for catching strays from the teacher.
okay it is a little bit funny….
So the 13 year old is starting to get more into his own interests and that has lead to us realizing he is definitely going to be a theater kid… and that’s great he finds acting a fairly easy way of getting around whatever blocks he is experiencing in speech.
But we are a little afraid of what goes into being a theater parent… ugh.
It is a bit funny because we realize that despite being in our 30’s, a lot of people assume my Husband and I to be teen parents… which gets a bit funny because like people will see us with the baby and think “aww they got a struggle ahead of them” but when they see us with kids, they are all “oh dear g-d what system failed you.” Like no… what do you mean you thought we were 17 and you freaked out when you saw us with a 13 and 10 year old. So like if the parents at the middle school think we are young what are the chances the parents at the high schools are going to think…
okay also like i have seen my own high school’s theater parents break the most ardent of den moms… and ugh…

Would you recommend good omens the tv show to a friend?
yes
only s1 + s2
only s1
only s2
only the finale
only the book
only to an enemy
haven’t seen it (fully) but yes
haven’t seen it (fully) but no
no
Mainly at this point it is more of “hey watch this if you need to get the speed run on how i process my religious trauma.”
Writing tips:
“You feel the bulge in his pants” - implies that you are feeling some guy’s penis, may be sexy depending on context
“You feel the bugle in his pants” - implies that this guy has a military horn in his pants, invites confusing questions like why does he have that and how big are his pockets
Both options convey that he's horny
How dare you be funnier than me on my own post
DOT DOT DOT THE COMIC
