OP had a username relating to the idea that trans people don't shower.
Why do these people think they know what gay men want better than them?
I don't know what to say. I just woke up. I'm tired of this shit.
Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the "not like other girls" trend or more accurately the hate that people who display that behavior get. I specifically don't like the idea that growing or "healing" from that phase means accepting femininity and enjoying being feminine.
I thought about trying to explain the concept without addressing the elephant in the room but it's way too obvious if you think about it for more than two seconds. This is a trans masculine narrative, it always has been.
What are these people being mocked for exactly? A failure to associate with their female peers, perform femininity in a socially acceptable way if at all, and being loud and "annoying" about that distinction. Instead of this being labeled as some sort of gender incongruence that could be explored with compassion, it's labeled as internalized misogyny or a character flaw that needs to be worked through.
I don't know folks, refusing to shut up about not being a girl or at least like any you've ever seen seems pretty transgender to me!!!
Obviously not everyone who claimed "not to be like other girls" ended up being trans or even gnc. But personally, I didn't even know being trans was an option. I went through the whole arc. Practically just a boy as a little kid, tomboy in elementary school, "not like other girls" in middle and part of high school, then I supposedly I "healed" and started dressing more feminine later in high school. I even identified as sapphic for a while.
But I'm not, I didn't like dressing feminine and I wasn't into women. I can't stress enough how much responses to the "not like other girls" trend like "omg they're gay and in love" or "you'll enjoy being feminine when you get over your internalized misogyny" delayed my transition. It made me unnecessarily cringe at early parts of my life that were just me trying to tell someone, anyone, in any way I could that there was something not right with my gender.
I really think we need to retire this concept. If someone is being rude or misogynistic about their discomfort with womanhood or femininity, by all means call that out. But if someone's just being kinda cringe about it? Leave them alone man. And maybe analyze the biases you have that make you feel like that behavior is cringe.
Regardless, just know that there never has been and never will be anything wrong with trying to tell the world who you really are. Even if it was just you insisting that "you weren't like other girls".

protestants: god is not an absent father! talk to god like a friend! god is always with you! bring your problems to god, no matter how small! it’s not at all weird to call god “daddy!”
catholics: god is far too important to give a fuck about your lost keys or your algebra exam. please address your petty concerns to one of god’s ten thousand holy secretaries. if it’s really important, consider asking his mom.
I remember as a teen finding out that catholics pray to a Saint when the lose shit instead of going straight to god and wondering if God ever got angry when I asked him to help find my ipod
