The Mary Nixons - AdrianÂ
NYC duo the Knocks have been busy in between releasing albums. Teaming up to form their second âsuper group,â in as many months, J Patt & B-Roc have enlisted the production help of the legendary Mat Zo to create The Mary Nixons. The debut single, Adrian, is everything a summer hit should be. Catchy vocals, up beat production and the collaboration of two artists who you might not put in the same realm when thinking of musical styles.Â
The Knocks are showing everyone else how it is done in continuing to put out great content even when not on an album cycle. The two side projects they have unveiled in the off season have not only been stellar musically, but also kept them relevant in the important summer months as they build to the release of their next album. Other acts, take note.Â

Goldwash - Why Hide It (Song of the Day)
We have been digging Goldwashâs Existential funk music for some time now and his latest release might be his best yet. Check out âWhy Hide It,â on the cover of Spotifyâs Fresh Finds playlist and if you are in the LA area, catch Goldwash at Hotel Cafe on August 19th.Â

Private Island - Turbulence (Song of the Day)
We have recently found a deep appreciation for California indie rock band Private Island. There most recent tune, âTurbulenceâ has proven to be no exception to our new found fandom. Keeping an airy, mysterious mantra throughout the track, PI are able to still breathe pop aspects into the 3 minute tune that resembles similarities to Mothxrâs lone album.Â
Private Island will be heading out on a co-headline tour with NYC band Future Generations at the end of this month and tickets can be found here.Â

Macklemore - Glorious (Official Music Video)
Macklemore music videos have become must see âTVâ over the years and his latest offering for new single Glorious is no different. Celebrating his grandmotherâs 100th birthday, Macklemore takes her on a wild adventure of all the things you would want to do if no one was allowed to tell you no. Enjoy this one to make you feel a bit better about the fact that we are on a Monday  of the first full work week in who knows how long.Â

City to Sea Summer Starter Pack Playlist
Here are 10 songs have been listening to this summer. We are going to update this playlist every week until labor day.Â
Happy summer.Â

The best producer who you may not have heard of is back with a wild take on Kendrick Lamarâs Humble. Utilizing only one line from the original, â This that Grey Poupon, that Evian, that TED Talk,â the Dallas native crafts an entire new production that very few artists could could replicate. Weaving in and out of genres, the 3:49 tune feels as if you have been taken on an hour long journey.Â
If you are in the Denver or Michigan areas, catch Whereisalex at Cervantes on 7/22, or UpNorth Festival on 8/18.Â

Parcels - Overnight
This song is making the rounds across the inter-web today and for good reason. German band Parcels were somehow able to enlist the production services from Daft Punk on their latest single Overnight. The guitar riffs are instantly recognizable at the onset of the tune, as you wonder if there might have been a bonus song on âRandom Access Memories,â that you never heard. Jump on the Parcels bandwagon now while the band is still relatively unknown in the US. If they keep pulling in production credits like this one, they are sure to be playing some large shows stateside soon.Â

Muto - Through The Fog
This track came out 6 months ago, but we were introduced to it after we saw Odesza announce Muto as a support act for their upcoming European dates. Whenever you see a great act add a support name you donât recognize, do yourself a favor and check those artists out. We are sure glad we did when it came to Muto. Listen to Through The Fog and then go back to his Spotify and Soundcloud and enjoy the whole catalog.

Flyte - Victoria Falls
If you sit at your desk and stare out the window long enough on a Friday at 1:36pm, you just might be able to visualize yourself at a beach or even the local park. You might have some music on in the background of this daydream. We would imagine this song would fit right in with this nice thought.Â
Happy weekend.Â

Lady HD - Inca Queen
I donât know much about Lady HD, but I know this song is awesome. Stumbled across this tune on soundcloud and I am very glad I did. This has a hint of Tame Impala/UMO with a bit of a grungier vibe. Regardless of who you want to compare it to, there is no denying it is incredibly well done. Seems quite early for this duo, but this feels like something that could get a lot bigger.Â

Amelia Airhorn - Miracle
Keeping with the recent disco vibes, The Knocks and Skylar Spence have united to create Amelia Airhorn. The collaborative project released their first single âMiracle,â last week and while it has a similar vibe to âCollect On My Love,â we arenât one to complain. Grab this one for free right here and be on the lookout for more free disco in the future, as the new project will not be offering future tunes on any streaming platforms.Â

Oliver Nelson - Rhubarb
One of our favorite producers around, Oliver Nelson, has returned with a new single âRhubarb.â If you are at all familiar with the Swedes past work, you know this one will be packed with the disco vibes perfect for the weekend. Give this one a listen and be sure to follow ONâs socials for what we can only imagine will be much more coming soon.Â

Harts - Peculiar (Official Music Video)
One of our favorite new artists, Harts, just released his new music video for the stunning single âPeculiarâ via Team Coco. Harts (Darren Hart) has been dominating the Australian music scene for the past couple years and now it seems he has turned his focus to the US, announcing a slew of tour dates in conjunction with the video. Be sure to check this one out and follow Harts for more updates, as the debut album is set to be released July 21.

Sundara Karma - Explore
Sundara Karma might be our favorite band of the moment. Their debut LP was stocked with hits such as âFlame,â âShe Said,â âHappy Familyâ and many more and now they have given us a new stellar single, âExplore.â The key to staying relevant in todayâs industry is content and no one can currently compete with the amount of quality content this band is delivering. Check out âExploreâ and letâs hope for some more US dates soon.Â

Father John Misty - Kings Theatre
Father John Misty is a true showman. From the way he carries himself on stage, to his unparalleled lyrics, there is no one doing what he does today - and this is might be a good thing.Â
When FJM (Josh Tillman) nails it, he hits it out of the park. âHollywood Forever Cemetery Sings,â âBored in the USA,â âNothing Good Ever Happens at the Goddamn Thirsty Crow,â and âNancy From Now On,â were all examples of tunes that captivated the audience and brought a sell out crowd at the Kings Theatre out of their seats.Â
With that being said, there were a number of moments where having a seat for the performance almost seemed like a necessity. Pure Comedy, the latest studio album and name of the current tour that FJM and his 14 (or so) person band are currently on, features multiple tracks that play like spoken word pieces rather than melodic tunes. At times, it felt that Tillman may have gotten too into the lyrics and less about the music. In todayâs day and age, this didnât feel like a negative.Â
The balance of powerful, melodic ballads and thought out lyrical pieces reflecting on events happening in todayâs world have put FJM in a class all by himself. No single artist in his age demographic has the type of affect on his fans that he has in todayâs music scene. Instead of relying on radio, or taking a path that far more have traveled in getting to his level of stardom, FJM has organically become a symbol of protest and a superstar in his own right. In these uncertain times, it seems that the legend of Father John Misty can only get bigger, especially when he delivers performances like the one on display at the Kings Theatre. Â

Foreign Air - Call Off The Dogs
This song is plain awesome. Hints of Rufus, a mix of Portugal The. Man, but ultimately Foreign Air have established themselves as a duo that can make music with the best of them. A debut album is expected to be coming sometimes this year, but for now, check out âForeign Air,â and be on the lookout for more.Â
