Etherna omegaverse AU. Part 1
I'm not entirely sure about the translation, but the book series is called “Отблески Этерны” in the original, and the TV adaptation is simply “Этерна”. In English, the title would be something like “Reflections of Aeterna/Etherna”. I highly recommend this series: it has duels, battles, intrigues, coups d’état, a wonderfully detailed lore, characters who develop in truly unexpected ways, a 15th–16th century aesthetic, and, of course, just a touch of mysticism
The book tells the story of the kingdom of Talig, where, four centuries ago, through an act of treacherous betrayal, the Ollar dynasty seized the throne. The rightful rulers, the Rakans, were forced to flee to Agaris, where they lived in hiding for generations. At last, Egmont Okdell—a duke whose family had held noble rank even under the Rakans and who remained loyal to them—rose in rebellion to restore the crown to its true heirs. But his revolt was crushed by Talig’s First Marshal, Roque Alva, who challenged Okdell to a duel and кil_lеd him
Five years later, Egmont’s only son and heir, Richard Okdell, arrives in the capital to complete his education at the Laic University and, as tradition demands, spend three years as a squire in the service of one of the high-born nobles who will pick him
The boy is consumed by hatred, obsessed with vengeance, and driven by the dream of killing Roque Alva—his father’s mцrd_еrеr. To his regret, no noble wished to claim the disgraced duke’s son as a squire… nobody except one. On Graduation Day, before the court and kingdom, Talig’s First Marshal himself—Roque, Duke of Alva—chose Richard Okdell as his own
What will become of a sixteen-year-old boy, raised in hatred and vengeance and convinced that he is vital to the revolution? Who pulls the strings that guide his fate—who speaks the truth, and who deceives? Who is a genuine man of honor, and who a sс0undrеl? And what role is played, in all this, by the dark omens of a dreadful future looming ever closer?
Hehe, you really have to read it. Especially because of Roque Alva, he's quite reasonable and adequate characters (witch is rarity today). Sooooooo, my headcanons:
- In this AU, each of the four great families carries the traits of their heraldic animal (raven 🐦⬛ wings - Alva, boar 🐗 fangs and tails - Okdell, octopus 🐙 tentacles, "ears", a lil bit golden skin and blood, curly hair - Pridd, horse 🐎 ears and tail - Epinea)
- In omegaverse AU he is an omega, very rare in this world been inhabitate by men-alfas and women-omegas, who he made a career in the army and at court through all the social and tradition boundaries by his strong personality and an unyielding willpower
- The book not only describes his curly long dark hair and passionate blue eyes, but also his graceful features and face. In omegaverse au he appears even more refined, without being overly feminine (as noted in the book) but possessing some feminine features between his thighs. And utеrцs, of cause
- While fighting on the duel, Roque was in hе_аt (just look at his frowny-face in TV ahow). He usually takes some days off during this period, but the unexpected threat to the crown forced him to act
- Egmont had secretly desired Roque as his omega for a long time. For him—a Man of Honor, a husband, and a father of four daughters and one son—it was a terrible shame, a truth he hid even from himself. But in the last hours, after being defeated yet still not been кi_llеd, Egmont saw the darkness of the approaching dе_аth stripped away his pretenses. As his final wish, he asked the omega on hе_аt to be with him, just once. Roque didn’t mind. Egmont was a strong, handsome man—why not? Especially since it would be their last chance
- 2-3 weeks after the duel and Egmont Okdell’s dе_аth, Roque realized he was pregnant. The discovery surprised him a little. On one hand, it felt almost inevitable: Alva needed an heir, and the stubborn, powerful Okdell bl0_0d would serve their child well. On the other hand, everyone would know of Egmont’s disgrace, for the child would surely bear the unmistakable Okdell traits—the boar’s tail and fangs. Still, Roque decided to keep his son. What he did not yet understand was just how hard pregnancy would be
