I think I’m literally never gonna be sick of this masterpiece. I think watching it on a loop for eight hours could fix me. Dancing’s what clears my soul. Dancing’s what makes me whole.
I just love that this very video is an accumulation of thousands of years worth of art made by people who have never met each other. The concept of this video was so completely unfathomable to every single artist who made the sculptures and yet they’ve all put something toward the creation of it.
ITS BACK ON MY TIMELINE
I would kill for them
@justcakethanks I love your template so much thank you <3
Hey. Why isn’t the moon landing a national holiday in the US. Isn’t that fucked up? Does anyone else think that’s absurd?
It was a huge milestone of scientific and technological advancement. (Plus, at the time, politically significant). Humanity went to space! We set foot on a celestial body that was not earth for the first time in human history! That’s a big deal! I’ve never thought about it before but now that I have, it’s ridiculous to me that that’s not part of our everyday lives and the public consciousness anymore. Why don’t we have a public holiday and a family barbecue about it. Why have I never seen the original broadcast of the moon landing? It should be all over the news every year!
It’s July 20th. That’s the day of the moon landing. Next year is going to be the 54th anniversary. I’m ordering astronaut shaped cookie cutters on Etsy and I’m going to have a goddamn potluck. You’re all invited.
Hey. Hey. Tumblr. Ides of March ppl. We can do this
Hell yeah moon holiday
Ooh coming up we should celebrate
PITCH: We call it Moon Day, and then every 7 years when it falls on a Monday, that's an even BIGGER deal and we call that Moon Day Monday and go absolutely apeshit about it (the next Moon Day Monday is in 2026 so we have a couple trial runs first)
MOON DAY MOON DAY MOON DAY
moon day is 20th July!!!
Scheduling this a day earlier to remind you all and myself about the Moon Day tomorow!
I scheduled this in 2025 to give you all a week to make Moon Day Monday preparations! I think I will order a little rocket cake or bake some moon phase cookies!
It's coming, cousins. ...This could be as big as March 15th if we made it that way...
i think this captures the defining pathology of the collective social media psyche right now. we are in the thrall of people who are wantonly cruel but who also demand to be coddled at all times in every way
Rather than distinctly male or female, the human brain is much more like the heart, kidneys and lungs – basically the same no matter the sex of the body it's in.
rb to make a biological essentialist mad <3
“This collapse is a telltale sign of a problem known as publication bias. Small, early studies which found a significant sex difference were likelier to get published than research finding no male-female brain difference.”
the notes on this are toxic - to help clear up any misunderstanding, here’s the actual science paper:
With the explosion of neuroimaging, differences between male and female brains have been exhaustively analyzed. Here we synthesize three dec
in short: brains are brains
Putting this on my good news blog, because yeah, you know what?
Proof that sexism, transphobia, and bioessentialism are biologically incorrect is absolutely a reason for hope - for society and for the world
[disclaimer because this is the piss on the poor era of the internet i am talking about the Show Itself and not any of the surrounding cast member or creator nonsense. i do not support gooseworx and co's actions nor do i really pay attention to creators at large]
this post uses she/her for Jax by defaulkt but idrc what you use in the notes as long as you aren't being transphobic about it :\
tbh the more i think about it the more that i really loved the tadc ending. quinnamon (youtuber) did a fantastic video that goes into the themeing and stuff ! which i highly recommend watching because its peak ! but to cherrypick my favorite part + ramble a little while is that its this
that you have to accept yourself because the aftermath of pushing your feelings down and fighting it hurts not only you, but everyone around you. you have to listen even if it's the scariest thing in the world because if you can't tell yourself the truth then who can you tell?
i disagree with plenty of other things this series did, i think there are parts of the story that are a bit pushed together oddly and the series Did lack consistency and unified storylines overall (in my Personal opinion you should be able to tell who the main character/s are from episode one and the fact that it flip flopped so damn much until gooseworx had to outright Say It is a bit disastrous) jax's story is told the way it is and ends the way it does is because it is trying to tell you something very powerful and personal to the person who wrote it. Jax is not a good person. She has pushed people away, hurt them, and continued the cycle of abuse she herself was trapped in originally. But this is not the only way that it could have been. We as the audience are shown one side of her up until the end, and she only lets us see that side. What we see in ep9 does not absolve her actions AND ABSOLUTELY does not justify them, but it does show us why she acts the way she does throughout the series. We also, at the very end, see Jax's real life counterpart, Lee (or Leeroy but as I remember Lee is used more often by fandom i think). Lee, while not 'out' yet, is already on a much better path towards accepting herself and healing from the abusive household she was priorly in. She can be considered a 'good ending'- but as I stated originally, there is a reason the show does not tell you about her until the end. Jax and Lee are not particularly opposites but they are diverging paths, and it is so important that Jax's story is focused on because (in my opinion at least) it is forcing the spotlight on what so many people do not want to see. When transgender youth are oppressed, are told they are wrong, or bad, or ruined for who they are- this is a representation of what can happen. Jax is not justified in her abuse of the other humans but her ultimate abstraction (death/suicide) was just as much a result of the abuse and transphobia she experienced and internalized. It is meant to hurt, it is meant to make you feel, because TADC did something that you do not see in so many recent show productions and absoLUTELY not in streaming services. They show you something real, wrapped in a package of animation and (admittedly, sometimes questionable) surrounding plot. Someone who is hurting, who has hurt others, and is not the pretty sanitized rainbow capitalism that so many stories choose to display. And isn't that beautiful?

general rant down below. sorry im not Quite done yet
I think in general fandom culture we've forgotten the importance of putting your heart and soul into something- and I don't mean in effort, I mean putting a real, specific message into it. Something meaningful, something brave that maybe you've never seen said before.
It's something shied away from, something set as 'cringe' or 'immature' or even 'problematic'- but isn't the whole point of making art to be shocking sometimes? What would you remember more? Something that played it safe, or a show that for better or worse, screamed to the sky about something real. Even if it didn't make sense. Even if (god forbid) it made you uncomfortable. Especially if it makes you uncomfortable.
There are too many people out there that pride themselves on being 'good' that they forget that so much of the 'great' was made by artists, writers, and more that were not afraid to stand up and create something that actually meant something to them, and stick by it.
After all, you only live on this earth for such a short time.
Why would you waste it trapped in a little glass box?
Jax haters will do anything but admit that maybe being trapped in a virtual reality for years while being a suicidal closeted trans woman with a shitty real life ON TOP of grieving the only friend you had might eventually make you a jerk who's not exactly enjoyable to be around.
Just saying.

proponents of the sex binary love to say that the Essence of your sex is stored only in one or another part of your body, and this Essence loves to move the moment it's pointed out that that aspect is not always aligned with one's other sex characteristics via being intersex or transsexual
"sex is in your genitals, I mean it's in your chromosomes, uh I mean it's in the size of gamete your body produces, uh I mean it's in the size of gamete your body is intended (???) to produce"
there are plenty of body parts that are regularly attributed to sex, and yet people are terrified of the idea that they may not always come in one of two particular configurations
all the talk about which part your Sex Essence really lies in is just drawing and redrawing linguistic boundaries as a method of erasing intersex and transsexual people. it's pure word games played to deny reality and define those of us who don't fit into the sex binary out of existence
the mythology of the Sex Essence, by the way, is how the patriarchy attempts to keep people bound to their assigned classes so it can categorize and control. you don't have a sex. you have a configuration of body parts and you have a state assigned class loosely based on only one of those body parts
when they say "sex is real" they really mean "Sex Essence is real"
btw when a lot of you say "amab" and "afab" it's obvious you're actually referring to Sex Essence rather than referring to the process by which the state assigns a class
AMBTS (Assigned Male By The State)
CAN WE SWITCH TO THIS ACRONYM ACTUALLY
- people need to be reminded who does the fucking assigning
- doesn't roll off the tongue, so you will never hear a trans woman called "an ambts" out loud
I hate that people say 'amabs' so much so I may begin to use this as well
and out of the darkness - you you you you you
"You don't know me. I'm not the same person anymore."
"That's okay. I'll get to know you again."
