Ok. Following this logic, since Sokka had show interest only to girls in the series, shipping him with Zuko, or any other male character, is mischaracterization.

Make content that isn't comparable to canon, is mischaracterization.

Like, you imagine how boring fandoms would be if we couldn't ship fanon ships, write fanfics and such.

Shipping is fun. Shipping canon and/or fanon ships is fun.

As a multishipper, in this fandom I cannot imagine shipping ONLY one ship.

Azulaang? Help this woman get her healing arc, Aang.

Zukaang? Sozin made gays illegal just because he was pissed his situationship dump him. Zuko, Aang, do what Sozin and Roku couldn't.

Zutara? I love Sun X Moon and enemies to lovers dinamic and they have BOTH!

Zukka? These two idiots are beautiful both platonical and romantic.

Sokka X Suki? Do I even need to say anything?

Taang? Opposite attracts.

Tagah X Toph? Girl was ready to repopulate the air benders.

Tyzula? Toxic Yuri!

Jinko? Girl gave the akwards cute guy a chance and end up being queen of a nation, is a concept WAY too funny.

Jetko? Bro wasn't thinking straight with that prince.

I'm not saying you're dumb for liking only few ships and dislike others, but dislike a ship and saying that ship is trash, is a whole different thing.

The one thing I really hate about this fandom is how much the ship wars take away from the characters and their relationships. Like even if people don’t ship Kataang, Katara and aang have a very deep and close bond that is strengthened throughout the show. The fact that he brought her on his journey so she could learn waterbending and subsequently teach him is integral to the show for both characters and their development. Zuko going through trials and tribulations with all the gaang members in order to earn their trust is why his arc is so impactful especially with Katara who he betrayed in ba sing se. By reducing all of these relationships to romantic ships we lose a core part of the show which is found family and friendship.

I wish I had the time and energy to do. (I don't have the mental energy nor the time to do it. Sadly) But I would love to start a community for the chill Kataang and Zutara shippers who want to find a safe space away from the shipping wars and hang out.

Remember not all Kataang and Zutara shippers are toxic. I'm sure a lot of them are done with the fighting and just want to have fun without worrying over a potential toxic shipper wanting to start a fight.

Shipping is for fun and I think a lot of fans have forgotten that.

If you can't stand a ship block the tag and the people supporting it.

I'm a Kataang shipper that also likes Zutara.

Zutara shippers always get so much hate and it gets worse every time there's a fandom renaissance :'> it's best to just ignore it and to not engage in any of the discourse. There's so many wonderful fanartists and fic writers in our community so just enjoy the ship and don't bother with all the hate people throw our way
