My uncle is really into warhammer and would win every miniature painting competition he was in. I have not very steady hands and he saw me messing up my nail polish for prom. He sat with me and carefully painted my nails and that moment meant so much to me all these years later.
EMBRACE PROFOUND PLATONIC DEVOTION
Let the soul rot with the flesh! See through the unseeing eye into the technicolor world of decay!! Thats just what she told me though.

I hope the nervous awkwardness isnāt apparent in my faceš¬
I couldn't find an official translation so forgive me but it says
"Sometimes we have to look at things that aren't cute and make us uncomfortable."
"Because I don't really understand it."
"Because it has nothing to do with me."
"Because it just feels unpleasant."
"If we keep turning a blind eye like that until we can't see anything anymore, then eventually even the cute things will disappear."
My wife pointed out to me the other day that apparently most people were literally only taught how to say Sorry and not how to Apologize or even that they are different things so here.
If all you ever do is step 1, not only did you not apologize, but people will rightfully stop believing you and start getting pissed or hurt.
š·ļøAKIRA (1988)š·ļø
Always remember that the EU did a study in 2013 about the effects of piracy on media publishers and found that there is no correlation between piracy and sales! (And then they tried to hide that study bc that's not the result they wanted)
So piracy is at worst not even a problem, and at best it's free advertisement.
Source: (the link to the actual study is in the article)
In 2013, the European Commission ordered a ā¬360,000 ($430,000) study on how piracy affects sales of music, books, movies and games in the EU
Plus this one:
A new report out of the UK once again deflates the common narrative that pirates are exclusively looking to obtain free stuff.
common advice for social anxiety is to tell yourself "people aren't going to think less of you just because you said something a bit daft" but the thing is. sometimes they will. and you just have to learn to be cool with that and to treat it as a dnd random encounter rather than letting it ruin your whole day
recent example. lady at my careers appointment had a post-it with her name on it stuck to the monitor, so i introduced myself by saying cheerfully "hello, i'm eliot! you must be [name], it's nice to meet you!" and she stared at me as if i was the stupidest person alive and said icily, "yeah, i'm [name]. congratulations, you can read."
in bygone times this would have reduced me to a sort of quivering blancmange. thankfully i am now in a place where i was able to pull back, evaluate this interaction, and say to myself "this woman should probably not be working in a customer-facing job"
Reply from OP I really liked
[ID: reply from beaft that reads: i fully get that! but sometimes when a stranger is unexpectedly nasty you just have to treat it like a wasp sting. it hurts but it does not reflect on you as a person. maybe the wasp saw you as a threat for reasons best known to itself, maybe you were in the way, maybe it was just in a stinging sorta mood. ultimately it doesn't matter because it wasn't your fault. the sting will heal and hopefully you won't have to see that wasp again. end ID]
