1. Unless you tell a professional that you have a plan and a date to kill yourself, you’re not getting committed. If you show up to the ER with suicidal ideation that’s a different story, but no therapist or psychiatrist actively wants to send people to psych. They will talk through it with you, tell you their intentions, and call someone close to you before anything else. I’ve literally shown up to appointments w my psychiatrist and been like “I was going to kill myself this morning but I didn’t” and he talked thru it with me and trusted when I told him I didn’t need to be committed.

2. The month before I attempted I told my therapist I wanted to die in every session but I was never forcibly committed, she only strongly suggested I go to the ER.

3. Fear mongering about psych is not fucking helping anyone. Of course I hated getting sent to suicide jail for 12 days. But that was after I tried to overdose with intent of dying. I no longer had a choice in the matter. I had finally pushed past the point where my decisions were sustainable at all.

4. Tell your therapist the truth. Tell them you’ve been having suicidal thoughts. They don’t want you in the hospital any more than you want it.

This kind of misinformation is why I wasn’t able to tell a school counselor about my problems. I couldn’t get into my outbursts, self-harming, suicidal ideation, or anything like that because I was deathly afraid I’d get into trouble. It was only after I talked to a therapist and actually vented those issues that I started feeling better.

Stop lying about this stuff, you’re hurting mentally ill people this way.

If you get sent to “suicide jail”, it’s not the fucking end of the world. It’s better to have to spend some time in psychiatric care than to end up dead because you decided to try to go through everything alone. I always try to be very open about the fact that I deal with suicidal thoughts on a daily basis, and guess what? I’m not locked up. I have people around who support me, and I have coping mechanisms… but, if it ever got to a point where I was alone, and my coping mechanisms weren’t working, you bet your ass I’d rather be locked up than to something terrible in a low moment.

Freddy Hacked into a military computer, made a youtube video that could permanently damage your eyes, and also turned a toy gun into a functional laser gun.

Spencer had the gift of pyrokinesis which went off at random and this was treated as only a medium inconvenience.

Carly was able to manipulate all 3 of these people, one of them being her legal guardian. Sam and Freddy were said to be able to argue indefinitely, Sam even getting into a fight with her mom for so long the therapist who forced them into conversation nearly went insane.

Yet Carly could just say “Hey guys shut up” and they would stop talking right away.

Scarlett Johansson is once again at the center of a Hollywood casting controversy over the film "Rub & Tug," in which she will play a transgender man.

In 2016 there was backlash after the actress was cast as a Japanese character in the film “Ghost in the Shell,” based on a popular Japanese manga series.This time there is criticism surrounding her role as a transgender man. Johansson is set to star in “Rub & Tug” as Dante “Tex” Gill, a trans man known for running a string of massage parlors in Pittsburgh that were fronts for prostitution in the 1970s and 1980s.

The film is set to be directed by Rupert Sanders, who also made “Ghost on the Shell.”
