One really funny thing about Worf is his significance in Klingon politics. Like he has no official position in their government but he’s stopping civil wars, killing politicians for personal and political reasons, conspiring to rig elections, etc. His brother is on the high council and the only reason Worf himself isn’t on it is because the truth about his father would fuck up this already fragile society. He is making political decisions that affect the entire Klingon empire. He’s basically Klingon nobility. But he still spends most of his time on the Enterprise making suggestions that Picard doesn’t listen to.

On April 5th 2063, within minutes of the Vulcan ambassadors’ arrival to Earth, the Wikipedia page for The Fermi Paradox was edited to include the words “was”, not “is”.
Given how fast wikipedia updates I can see that happening. Maybe. Assuming that one of the potential Very Fast Updaters of the future lives in a place with reliable enough internet access post WW3.
There’s a heated argument in the discussion section between people who haven’t heard yet.
The page gets rolled back and then updates again by a guy who’s been waiting for their signal strength to increase and actually got to the page first.
Someone asks if these ‘Vulcans’ are really aliens or just cosplayers, starting a whole new discussion argument.
Meanwhile, on Vulcan, some poor sod has to update their wikipedia-equivalents page on humans, and wonders how to possibly phrase ’S'chn T'gai Solkar kissed the first human to travel at warp’ without it sounding illogical.
Logipedia editor, updating the First Contacts page with an image of The Handshake: computer, render SolkarTheSlut.jpg

What is it about Benjamin Sisko that makes a certain type of guy go insane about him? Dukat and Eddington spend every waking moment facetiming him like "Oh, you want to fuck me so bad..." Meanwhile Ben is thinking like "chili would be good tonight..."
I finished the Star Trek Doorway quilt. It turned out lovely. I know it looks simple but this was a complicated build. I honestly don’t know how I managed to get the height and width to line up with the outer blocks. #startrek #quilt #handquilting

DISCOVERY SEASON 1 IS ABOUT HOW STARFLEET BECOMING HYPER MILITANT IS BAD AND MILITARIZATION IS HOW PEOPLE LOSE THEMSELVES AND THEIR IDEALS, AND THAT SYSTEMS CAN HOLLOW YOU OUT IN THE NAME OF SERVING YOUR COUNTRY, AND YOU CAN NOTICE IF YOU PAY ATTENTION TO THE THEMES OF ANY EPISODE OR LISTEN TO ANYTHING THE CHARACTERS TALK ABOUT.
THE ONLY WAY TO CONCLUDE THAT THE SEASON IS PRO-MILITARIZATION IS TO LITERALLY WATCH IT ON MUTE WITHOUT SUBTITLES AND LOOKING AWAY FROM THE SCREEN FOR EVERY NON-ACTION SCENE

How is he gonna tell command about this one
I really wish that more pre-reform/pre-surak fics leaned into cyberpunk instead of going for "shirtless men with spears". Like if I'm being honest, it feels like people sometimes turn vulcans into the "noble savage" trope. Which is, I cannot stress this enough, very weird. You're writing about spacemen and you're somehow managing to be racist against native people. And like. I don't think it's deliberate, and I'm aware that this conception of vulcans has been around for decades and that many people have just kind of picked it up by osmosis, but. Like. It's not great. It is, dare I say, a little bit problematic. It also isn't at all accurate to canon? People just made that up. Because Surak died in the 4th century, just about 2000 years before canon, and do you know what his cause of death was? Radiation poisoning. When they say, "vulcans were extremely violent pre-reform, and nearly wiped themselves out," they don't mean they were having tribal battles on the backs of sehlats or whatever. They mean they were having nuclear warfare.
i've searched every combination of words imaginable and i still can't find that gif of the german star trek parody where gay spock is quickly drinking coffee and smoking freaking out PLEASE send it to me i need it urgently
