Genuinely so important to me that there was no romance in phm.

And the person he needed to be brave for was his best friend. It wasn't a lover, a partner, a romantic interest. It was his best friend.

And honestly this isn't even specifically about aroace grace- Rockys story could so easily be a romantic one. He's been completely alone trying to finish an impossible mission without his crew for years. And then an alien comes and they learn how to communicate. And with that alien they both save their planets. Rocky gives Grace fuel with no hesitation, even if in the movie it means he will get back home 6 years slower. 6 years longer to see his mate. And he still does it without hesitating for even a second.

That kind of devotion and story could have so easily been romantic. Two aliens who help save each other, who are both the most important people to each other, but they're not lovers.

I don't think my dad understands how important having a phone is to just existing. He said the only reason I need one is to call him/mom or the police bc I have other electronics. And like? No? I would need a phone for job? I already moved so much and could have kept contact with my friends if I had had a phone? I can barely socialize now and I understand it's my fault but it's so easy to blame it on this bc I'm so used to not having contact to other people outside of irl. I'm surrounded by people who just understand how to socialize and text people and I feel like I'm not getting something. Also, I need it to fucking do an extracuricular? We need to scan stuff and be in group chats that hold info about dance. And once again I'm seperated from my peers.

Just to be clear they gave me a watch phone that sucked and then gave me a flip phone. The flip phone can't scan QR codes(which I need for dance) or download apps(which means I have to go through my parents for access to certain resources) I constantly have to ask if there's a website bc I can't download apps to just be something I can check easily. Also, group chats don't work with my phone unless I have pre-saved Every. Single. Number. Which is inconvenient on a team of 20 something people.

I was SO close to getting a real phone on vacation when my phone got wet and broke. I didn't freak out about it, so my dad said that if I continued to show this maturity I could get and actual phone. But then the damn thing turned on again. My camera still doesn't work on it, one of the few things that helped start text conversations. He talks about how the phone and social media rots your brain but I don't care. If I tried hard enough, I could access almost every social media, yet I don't because I don't think I need them above a random urge. I have kept all A's for YEARS except for one B in 8th grade. I am doing a sport. I am driving. Am I too anti-social? Am I too rude to people? What is preventing me from having this tool to make life just an inch easier?

This is kinda insensitive considering how privileged I am financially and socially that the most I have to worry about is not having a phone and that being difficult to work around. I know that. But I just wanted to rant bc I'm tired and my dad's comment pissed me off more than it usually does.

It's unfair how well the "I barely studied I'm about to fail this test" strat works. Like complain about it all you want, but my best test scores have been on test that I had constant anxiety whether I was gonna do well on them. The second I got an inch of confidence in myself I got a bad grade and honestly that made it hurt worse. Constant self-deprecation is bad and annoying to the people around me, but it has done wonders for my grades.

I just finished watching the TGWDLM reprise and LOVED it, AND I have come to warn that there are a couple scenes that contain pretty substantial flashing lights.

the timestamps are: 1:46:05-1:46:22 (the helicopter scene), and 1:55:04-1:55:25 (the end of Let it Out. There is also some minor flashing from 2:00:58-2:01:11 (during Inevitable).
