i think because of the whole "writers write for themselves" notion that's becoming increasingly popularized, people forget that we still thrive off interaction and kindness. i write for myself but kudos and comments and bookmarks and really any sort of interaction with my fics genuinely motivates me to keep writing and keep sharing my works.

Okay but the fact that Finn chose to add in the "you're my superhero" line in that "love confession" when he very likely knew about El's arc and that she didn't like to be called or seen as one lowkey solidifies to me that Finn always acted with Byler endgame in mind and noone can convince me otherwise. Combined with literally everything else he chose to do (the lip glances, the Will voice, the Will SMILE, the constant literal heart eyes, stroking over wills binder which was deleted, the "you didn't have to" which was also added by him, the list goes on) and the fact that he and Noah HAD to have talked about the way there were acting these characters out, nothing else makes sense to me. The evil twins might not have "realized" what they were doing, but we know Noah believed in Byler and it would be wild to me to think that Finn didn't. Like idc, I might be delusional but whatever. Bury me on this hill, I don't wanna die anywhere else

Tldr: Finn acted Mike as in love with Will so Byler is canon

some people think writers are so eloquent and good with words, but the reality is that we can sit there with our fingers on the keyboard going, “what’s the word for non-sunlight lighting? Like, fake lighting?” and for ten minutes, all our brain will supply is “unofficial”, and we know that’s not the right word, but it’s the only word we can come up with…until finally it’s like our face got smashed into a brick wall and we remember the word we want is “artificial”.

Whenever I say I hate S5 of Stranger Things just know I am NEVER talking about the end of Sorcerer. That entire sequence was so perfect and so so beautiful.

Actually the whole of Will’s Vol.1 arc was brilliant. There was a lot of bad stuff in Vol.1, but what they did with Will was amazing, and I don’t understand how it went from that to his coming out scene and the tower scene. They had a beautifully crafted queer arc, and then they completely bombed it, and I don’t understand how or why, and I’m eternally pissed about it.

And that’s not even touching on the infinite other issues in S5 but that’s not what this post is about.

Every second I think about stranger things, I get angrier and angrier. I hate that I still love it. I hate that I ever loved it. I hate that I placed all my hopes, everything I've ever wanted to see, on writers who never cared about their audience. I hate that they baited everyone. I hate how they built something up for years and years and did nothing with any of it. It isn't even about byler for me at this point, it's how blatantly the duffers and netflix ruined mike, jane, lucas, and will's characters. They simplified every one of them into some cardboard cutout version of themselves. Mike was nothing except being jane's boyfriend and will's crush. Jane was reduced to a 'superhero' and nothing more, everything that made her Jane disappeared. Lucas was also reduced to just being Max's boyfriend. Will's only personality trait according to the finale was being gay. Was that all they were? No. They were so much more than that and it pains me to see how the series ended.

this frame is always so devastating to me because will has basically just come out of the most horrifying experience someone, let alone a child, can go through, only for his best friend for ever and ever to run off with this girl that he barely knows but apparently saved his life??

like, he comes back, probably wanting nothing to change between mike and him, but el is physically tearing him away from will and he can’t do anything about it
