Hey just so you know, I know we say a lot of shit like "MAGA will never abandon him" or "He can do whatever he wants and they'll still support him" but that's honestly just more of the sort of defeatism we definitely don't fucking need. MAGA IS demonstrably getting smaller. Every new excess and atrocity drives a few more people away. I agree that largely as a demographic our activist time is better spent elsewhere. But even high profile supporters like Marjorie Taylor Greene and the crazy fucken QAnon Shaman have left him. QAnon Shaman definitely still crazy, but hey. And right wing asshat influencers like Joe Rogan are withdrawing support as well. You don't have to forgive them, but that absolutely makes a difference. There are even cracks in the FOX reporting these days.

By the same token, yes, some Republican politicians are taking exception to the "he had a gun so we had to shoot him" narrative the administration is trying with Alex Pretti. And yes, the NRA has objected to the narrative.

I'm not asking you to forgive anyone or work with anyone. I'm just saying that no, the regime cannot just do anything they want and not lose supporters. They are constantly losing supporters.

i just can't convey the frustration and sorrow that it's been to grow up at first without the internet and then watching it bloom into this useful, fun, connecting force you sometimes spent time on, only for it to degrade into this constant oppressive waste of time and energy where people are constantly pumping out algorithmically designed content for max algorithmic appeal and even the most simple search generates either no results or an infinite abyss of ai generated slop none of which is usable or correct. we briefly had a library of alexandria and then fed it into a paper shredder so advertisers could sell a random mash of pulp back to us at a premium.
