On Magick

The pockets are strongly tied to the receiving and giving of money. One can go and stitch a sigil to retain money and good fortune and guard against poverty and loss in the pocket.

The feet and head are the most vulnerable parts to spiritual attack. The feet can are the instruments that walk the path and connect us to the earth and the spirits therein. The head is connected to Heaven and the Higher Spirits. Sigils can be kept in the shoes to protect against harm and a ritual can be established where the feet are washed in salt water with a few other protective herbs. The head can be wrapped, the hair can be plaited and so on.

The underwear is a good area to keep spells relating to lust and to bind a lover to you or inspire passion.

One can take prayers, psalms, verses and the like and create an acronym for them. They can then write these on a piece of paper that has been cleansed and charged and seal it. This acts as a potent talisman and amulet.

The paper in of itself can act as a spell sachet. The magus can write a charm, prayer and the like, take certain herbs or items and fold it in the paper, binding it with thread, wax etc. to make a charm.

Basil can reconcile lovers, attract good lovers, bring fortune and good spirits, protect against evil eye and evil forces, divine the outcome of a relationship and attract abundance and good fortune.

A rinse of rosemary can be used to help with issues relating to the hair. Although the rinse in of itself is a good idea, I would find that a nurturing oil such as olive oil would be of good use.

Fir Tree. / French Folks Tradition

Hand of Protection : in Savoy, the fir tree is used to make a sort of protective "hand" that is placed above doors or on roofs to protect dwellings from lightning and the evil spells of sorcerers. This "hand" performs the same functions as the crosses that are nailed to doors, but the two cannot coexist, otherwise their power is cancelled.

To make this "hand" it is necessary to find a small fir tree whose terminal bud, at the top, is atrophied and which has only five shoots of branches which must stand up towards the sky, like an open hand. We cut the end of the tree, and all that remains is to debark it, then to cut the five branches at different heights, like fingers.

Healing fears In the Dauphiné, you can cure your fear or shyness by passing several times under fir trees whose branches touch each other. (Rite probably related to an older rite of transference of evil.)

Panacea In the Côtes d'Armor (Brittany), it is the vital power of "pine cone" juice that refers to the belief that the child who manages to absorb it in full would - his whole life - be spared by any disease.
