The people reporting on Europe are conveniently overlooking the fact that the United States is a far bigger and more populated country than any one European country. I mean, they felt the need to add all sorts of ethnicities to The Witcher, despite that taking place in medieval Poland. Mulan takes place in medieval China, yet everyone’s Chinese, or at least Asian. They’re both essentially in the fantasy genre, with lots of crazy monsters, magic, and so on, so you can’t say that Mulan is pursuing scrupulous historical accuracy.

So why is it that one story is obliged to create this weird ahistorical melange where jet-setting minorities all congregate thousands of miles from their homeland, while the other just lets everyone be Chinese?

We have USPS whistleblowers coming forward to say they’re being told to engage in illegal activity. We have videos of people ballot harvesting. We have a video of a guy counting ballots actually crumple a ballot after getting visibly upset and flipping it off.

I was against mail-in voting to begin with. The US system was not prepared to handle it. I wouldn’t care who was in the White House at the time.

-We got a glitches that are switching thousands of ballots and even overturning elections.

-We just got another glitch in the highly contested state of Georgia where officials are saying 80K votes might be affected.

-certified poll watchers not being allowed access.

-poll watchers being forced to watch from afar with binoculars.

Not to mention the insane jump in overall voter turnout. 2008/2012/2016 all saw 125-130 Million

Everyone with half a brain knew mail in voting would end up being chaotic. Back in April, Paterson NJ had to vacate its entire election due to the staggering amount of issues with mass mail-in voting. Thats just one city with a population of under 150K people total! Only about 60K actually voted!

Yeah let's review that.

60K mail in votes in one city of 150K people resulted in so many issues they had to vacate the entire thing.

Now with 144 million votes with id say probably at least 60 million being mail-in ballots, we're supposed to put our heads down and look away.

Talking about “rampant violence, rape, and deaths in custody” does not actually change the fact that the people committing assault, rape, and murder in jail are breaking the law, or explain why prisons cannot be reformed.

She implies prisons haven’t changed much in three centuries and the Quakers were necessarily right about their criticisms. And she ignores how there are people who can be given every chance imaginable, and they will still do bad things. In fact, this exact same comic uses a dog-murdering millionaire.

Notice how she doesn’t really admit violent crime outside of prison even exist. And she doesn’t talk about self-defense when her…ideals fail.

Societies have always had ways to punish people who wouldn’t play along. Sometimes death, sometimes physical punishment, sometimes social punishment, sometimes banishment, etc. Many of them were a lot worse than prison. You probably heard of this guy who was whipped, paraded to the streets, and nailed to some wood.

The Ancient Romans had prisons. Galley slaves are, in fact, imprisoned.

I don’t think it’s a good idea to start off a comic intending to persuade people by saying you don’t listen to questions and going off into, frankly, unsupported tangents about assumed motives.

Robin Hood occasionally has random black guys, like Morgan Freeman in Robin Hood Prince of Thieves. Crap movie but at least they tried to explain why Morgan was there. When Robin Hood came back from the Crusades he had made a friend who came with him.

It’s like the uncanny valley. People will readily accept obviously nonexistent things like dragons since no one knows what a real dragon is supposed to be like, but the closer you get to human, which people actually have a lot of experience with, they start picking it apart.

Same kind of thing with something like (for example) Italians eating tomato based food before the 1700s. Now? A lot of stereotypical Italian food has tomatoes in it, but they don’t belong there in that time period, so it feels wrong if you know anything about it, and it breaks the suspension of disbelief.

As I understand it, the recent Guy Ritchie movie had some blatantly obvious parallels to the War on Terror, which even movie critics didn’t like.

And sometimes moviemakers will be deliberately inaccurate because people would think accuracy is inaccurate. such as showing vikings without horned helmets.
