I love the Norman Chaple scenes in Hannibal but I do find it pretty funny that this mural isn't actually in the actual Chapel and just something they added for the show but it works so well!
This pattern was pretty tricky to work out but I love it ā¤ļø

Craft stores are just like "can I interest you in some...objects? some items? would you like some things?" and every time I'm like Oooh I love objects and items and things!
May 1, 2021: 350 hexipuffs! For my own records, this is 16 by 22(ish) puffs and is approx. 31 by 42 inches. I like the black background as a change of pace, but I think Iāll go back to white for the next one.
oh this is gorgeous!!
It's glorious.
my adhd brain: iām gonna start another project!!! my rational brain: but you didnāt even finish the other one my adhd brain:
The intimate connection with clothes you make yourself is truly something.
Like āThere are three twisted stitches on the shoulder of this sweaterā
Or āI accidentally picked up an extra stitch on the gusset of the left sockā
No one else notices, but you know. You know.
"no one knows but you" - indeed
where are my other boring 20somethings i love you let's start a union or a knitting circle. maybe they're the same thing
An Advent Playlist series curated by two sopranos during a pandemic to bring you some of your favorite (and new) Advent music and hymns into your home inspired by the Readings and Psalms for each Advent Sunday. This is meant to be listened through in order.
Hey all....Iāll be back on here eventually but I wanted to share a project Iāve just started with my fellow knitting soprano friend. Iām a professional singer and this year has been hell for that, and today is usually the kick-off for my busiest season in the Winter.Ā
Advent has always been my absolute favorite, and not getting to sing any of this music this year is hitting me pretty hard. So since Iām stuck in quarantine (š) my friend and I are going to be doing a series of Advent playlists that are based off of this years readings and psalms in the Anglican cycle. Theyāll be around 30-45ish minutes each, and feature some classics and interesting covers of the tunes you know and love.Ā
This is supposed to be listened to in order as if youāre going through the actual service.Ā
I hope you take a listen and enjoy this little offering- as we all begin to hunker down for this Winter having a moment to listen to some beautiful music can be healing and wonderful.Ā
Gonna need a pattern for this sweater
the Good Trouble cowl ā Knit1Designs
Hey!! Did I get your attention? 𤪠good ā
I would like to introduce you to āThe Good Trouble Cowlā designed by Karen Clements
ā
Karen reached out to me and shared a story that instantly made me know I had to get involved. The fear of taking a risk at publicly speaking up against racism. The sole purpose of this Cowl is to support the work of Black Lives Matter in Jefferson County WA! This is the epitome of stand in the gap āš¾ ā
ā
This is a small rural community so you can imagine the Black community, which is severely underrepresented, could use your help. This cowl is available by donation only starting as low as $5. ā
I already gave my heart, my smile and $25. If you would like to make a cowl AND help the BLM community, click the link Thanks š¤
Karen said she was inspired by the following words ā
āDo not get lost in a sea of despair. Be hopeful, be optimistic. Our struggle is not the struggle of a day, a week, a month or a year, it is the struggle of a lifetime. Never, ever be afraid to make some noise and get in good trouble, necessary trouble.āā
~Rep. John Lewis 1940-2020
Inexplicably annoyed by men writing about knitting!
The tags on this are extraordinary:
girlfriend: *does a completely harmless craft that she enjoys, creating something while she watches tv*
boyfriend: āwhat is this anti-feminist spinster shit, iām so alienatedā
this is literally why I feel like I have to apologize for sewing
āsweetly oblivious old ladiesā Hon I 100% guarantee to you that those old ladies are aware of you, your bloodline, your daily habits and your breakfast order and gossip about how rude you are as soon as you leave.Ā
āIf you want to eavesdrop on someone, knit or sew or some sort of womanly craft. Men will act as though you are deaf and blind even when shown evidence otherwise.ā - Trickstersā Choice.
@macabre-danse-off @chelidona
The optimistic side of me hopes that this is at the beginning of the book and our dear narrator here will learn that he was utterly wrong in judging his girlfriend for knitting.
Maybe after she stabbed him with a knitting needle.
(And maybe he has learned that there are surprisingly few āsweetly oblivious old ladiesā.)
WTF?! @incredifishface Can you believe this shit?
it does seem from the sentence above that this guy has A Lot of Man Problems.
can you even imagine his thoughts on crocheting?
I want āI will knit you a coffinā on a tshirt.
I will put your t-shirt on my knitted coffin.
Life is too short to knit with shitty yarn or deal with shitty men.
That moment when you finish crocheting the main body of the shop sample baby blanket, only to realize the pattern was in UK terms and not US. So now the entire blanket of US double crochets shouldāve been single crochets, and you have to take it all out and start it again š
Today felt like fall!! Celebrated with some autumn-y hexies. Ft. my ol reliable dpns which will be stained a million different colors by the time Iām finished with this blanket
