You have to read historical works. You must educate yourself by reading classic literature, and sometimes—unfortunately—that includes reading things by people with dogshit opinions about their dogshit opinions.

Because you have to understand what makes a dogshit person in order to not be a dogshit person. Erasing the stories of everyone problematic throughout history will do more damage than good.

But, as OP states, that does NOT mean contributing funds to someone you KNOW is using them for evil. If Donald Trump published an epic wizard novel tomorrow, would you really want to pour millions more into his campaign? Really?

Sometimes, you have to weigh all the potential consequences of your actions, and make the uncomfortable decision that even your favorite story isn’t worth it.

Meet my newest fursona/truesona, minty! This sketch page was drawn by my wonderful friend @ded-rat-whore !!

Decided I'm a furry now cause I like basically everything furry since I love animals so much and I also really love hybrids (such as centaurs!!), including art and fursuits. I never thought of myself as a furry until recently, so I designed minty very recently and will probably make some tweaks to them. I also have many other designs for furry OCs too that I'll hopefully get to share one day.

I'll make a reference post for minty soon but here's some quick fun info on them!

Minty is a genderfluid and autistic Border Leicester x Merino sheep, with thick torso wool and shaved legs, arms, and head. Hoof has small horn stubs from being on hrt, but has larger prosthetic horns to wear when presenting masculine (using pronouns ram/rams). Baa will comb their wool to form a more feminine shape when presenting feminine (using ewe/ewes). Hoof wears glasses on a necklace of beads and a green sunflower lanyard, and is always carrying stim toys and/or baas ESSAs!

Sometimes I end up on a weird side of Pinterest where it’s all practically built Zombie Armor made of everyday objects and I forget zombies is NOT a problem we are already dealing with in day to day life

i’ve warmed up significantly towards the concept of small talk ever since i learned that its sole purpose is to make friendly noises.

as long as you smile and nod, people are satisfied. it’s just to show that you are nice and there with good intentions. we’re small in a big world and have to rely on other people to be decent to us. so we do our little human dance to each other to say, “i’m not here to hurt you. here’s something we have in common, like the weather or sports or itchy sweaters, so we both know we’re on the same team. we both agree on a basic fact, like that it is rainy or that being itchy is uncomfortable, and this proves we can get along. i’m being light-hearted and non-threatening right now.”

small talk isn’t to get to know a person. it’s just a greeting to affirm you’re buddies in the universe.

i am motivated by wanting the other person to know i am friendly, so i have gotten pretty decent at small talk when i used to hate it.

I have several tarot decks, but I also am quite socially observant, so in high school I used to do “tarot readings” for ditzy girls with boy problems and toxic friends… Instead of any actual reading I would just give them my genuine advice for their lives and because it was coming from The Cards they would listen…

(My point being, what a manipulation tool if you were being a dick about it.)

did you know the cops once found a fully functioning movie theater with a well-stocked bar inside the catacombs and they when they tried to go back later to formally investigate it was completely emptied out save for a note that read "don't search for us"

my little bro is part of the catacombs community and yeah, it's basically a fully autonomous society! enough that when my bro goes in on a friday night, they don't come out until monday for work- sometimes longer if they took days off.

some of the rooms have fully stocked pantries with cooking equipment, some have movies like the one described above, some have books you're allowed to just take but people always put back- every day people bring things from the outside. artists often set up galleries there. there are rooms with mattresses and hammocks set up for people to sleep. one of the room is just a place where people leave shoes for the fun of it.

this is Known, it's not a secret by any means. the catacombs are as big as paris itself, and people live there just as people live above. it's wonderful when you think about it.
