Instead of endless wastelands of mowed grass lawns, consider:
this only works in places with lots of rain, a temperate summer, and a nice cold winter. like England. or Michigan.
True! Unless you can find an economical way to irrigate, more appropriate lawn alternatives in hotter, more arid places might lean more to prairie meadows using local grasses and wildflowers:
Or, they might mean doing classic landscaping, but with rocks and xeriscape plants:
Or having a cactus garden:
There are lots of exciting possibilities once you throw the classic turf lawn out the window!
Another successful SpaceX mission (sound on)

One of my favorite parts of the Hunger Games was how, in the beginning, Katniss was jealous amd resentful of the townies for not having to work in the coal mines. Then, over time, she realizes they aren't the true enemy. Then she sees the other district kids as so much better off than she is, because at least they don't come from district 12. But then she realizes they aren't the enemy either. And then she hates the other victors, before realizing they have all been exploited just as much as she has. So the enemy must be the Capitol citizens, who benefit from the exploitation of the districts, right? Wrong again. They are just uninformed and pampered people who have been kept in the dark about the true horrors faced by the rest of the country. Most of them, when push comes to shove, are perfectly willing to help the war efforts.
And slowly, over the three books, all theses separate factions of downtrodden people start to see each other as allies instead of enemies, and that is what propells them to eventual victory over the true enemy, the government that tried to pit them against each other. Just fun, totally fictional things to think about that have nothing whatsoever to do with our current life.
While I love seeing people sympathize with insects, I’ve noticed an increasing trend in the insect groups of people who think killing their natural predators is a good thing to do. Come on! I don’t think these folks would advocate shooting a lion to protect a gazelle.
One particularly unfortunate example I keep seeing are people putting caterpillars “out of their misery” for being covered in parasitic wasp cocoons. It’s well meaning on paper, but what it really means is that a bunch of baby insects just died instead of only one, and those baby insects were a plant’s most important line of defense against the caterpillar. Empathizing with living things is important, but you can’t play favorites or treat some as “bad guys” for fulfilling their whole purpose!
A lot of people are genuinely terrified about what will happen if Donald Trump wins reelection and it's really weird how some of y'all are acting like everyone begging you to vote for Biden is some privileged, rich, out of touch, neo-liberal when a lot of them are just vulnerable people who don't want to like...die in a brutal civil war or watch all their remaining rights get stripped away by an increasingly authoritarian Republican Party.
I do not know how to express to you how much worse it can get.
Why beehives are hexagons.

Honestly, one of the best things I’ve gained from getting older? The increased ability to say “Nah, I’m not into this” and walk away from uncomfortable situations.
Realizing you have the POWER to walk away and say no without caring or worrying about what other people might say or think.
I can set down that book or turn off that show my friends recommended if I’m not fully enjoying it.
I can drive myself home from a party or decline an invitation without having to lie or make up excuses for my absence. Wanting to go home and sleep is a good enough excuse.
I can shrug off insults and angry words more easily and curate my social circle and surround myself with only the people I actually want to spend time with.
My tolerance for bullshit and having my time wasted has gone down considerably, and I’m so grateful for that. It’s made it much easier for me to identify the things that make me happy and feel more in control of obtaining those things.
I’m right and I should say it
Wait. How are peoples with siblings greeting eachother then?
