i feel so defensive and protective of people with ARFID like if i had a disorder that made my brain register 90% of food as poison for no reason and i had a bazillion people on the internet constantly calling me a manchild who needs to just grow up and stop being a picky eater i would start killing people

Dude I still think id fear/dislike bugs if it wasnt for you. Being around people who are positive about them genuinley changed my outlook. There are other factors but I think youre the one who planted the seed of "all bugs are important to the earth and are animals just trying to live like everyone else" into my worldview.

honestly it is people like you who keeps my outlook on bugs positive. Ive definitely gotten over my fear of bugs so much I've been actively looking for oppertunities to handle them.

I find education insects 'n other invertebrates (especially the 'yucky' ones) extremely important. I'm glad you've been helping influence people for the better. :]

And maybe she doesn't have much character because she's not out yet? People seem to make Itrapped incredibly characterised and unique, but he's not out yet either, so why not make Jane into a character too?

It just.. feels sort of misogynistic in a way. You flesh out the two male characters so much, and when it comes to a female character you push her aside.

If you can flesh out John and 1x for your ship, you can certainly flesh out Jane.

Also she does have peeks of character being revealed to us like?? What kind of normal mentally sound woman makes a giant conspiracy theorist type board to find her husband??

But, !!I don't hate 1xDoe because of this!! I just hate how easily some 1xDoe shippers push aside one of the only female characters in this game for the sake of a ship. 💔

I love 1xDoe in my own right, I don't even deny it, and I've left the Forsaken sphere for awhile - for my own sanity quite frankly - but the amount of times that I've seen Jane either gets completely shafted or portrayed as an abhorrent person genuinely makes me confused ? ?

She's definitely more interesting than just "John's Widowed Wife". She's a lot more strong willed for starters - and her tenacity is definitely a key part of her character in my eyes. Hell, I doubt she'd even be mad if John, in his state of amnesia, would've moved on. Hurt? Definitely, but I don't think she could entirely blame him either.

A lot of the ignoring Jane and any strife that could come of that just feels like it's choosing the easy route instead of leading towards interesting conflict in stories.

Feels a lot like choosing the easy route of ignoring Jane for the purpose of yaoiful shipping. And I won't even lie, I get not wanting to come off anon for fear of the hate it'd receive. Some folks be vicious 'round these parts.

I could probably also go into more surrounding a lot of Forsaken's shipping culture and it's handling of most characters, but I fear that'd get really off topic.

Sorry I like character analysis and story writing, and the complete lack of characterization people give Jane (or just ignoring her to avoid conflict) annoys me greatly.
