My Babysitter's A Vampire - S2E8 "Hottie Ho-Tep"
My Babysitter's A Vampire - S2E8 "Hottie Ho-Tep"
I love this guy how can anybody hate him
when youre stressed about your current wip, start a new one! now you can be stressed about two wips instead!
thinking about that episode of my babysitter's a vampire where the vampire nurses held a fake blood drive and honestly i feel like they weren't even villains for that... like they need to drink blood and they're getting it in the most ethical way they can rather than turning or killing people. and they even gave them cookies afterwards. tbh i'd donate my blood to vampires if they were this nice about it

A little rant post:
As glad as I am that we are getting into RSA, and I love Rielle and Minajael with all my heart (and i'm super excited to see the others!), a part of me wanted Book 8 to be about Yuu and Grim, or at least have that being the focal point with the tournament as the backdrop. I know that Yuu is a self-insert and their story is supposed to be generic, I think that there is so much that could have been explored with how that could apply to everybody's version of Yuu. There have been several hints scattered throughout their dialogue that they are not taking all of this drama very well at all, I really want it to lead somewhere. I at least hope we have a pivotal role in taking down Crowley and whatever he's plotting and we're not just standing on the sidelines.
Me personally, as an african myself, i think that ruggie being lightskinned makes sense. Not all africans are black, most north africans are white, brown or lightskinned. Also, we know that Rook is from the Sunset Savannah, but hes not dark skinned either, so it prolly is cuz hes north african or has white ancestry (and seein that he speaks french, then he might be from a country france colonized, maybe).
Idk i just feel that ppl always forget abt us africans who are not black, when there are a lot of us too. Africa is a big CONTINENT after all TT, theres ougth to be a lot of variety.
Akskd sorry for the rant, just saw ure post and i couldnt help myself, forgive me if i came off as rude, english isnt my 1st language.
AHHHHHHH NO UR GOOD! You didn't come off as rude at all! I am also half African myself so I know how it feels when people try to erase representation. I just hate when people think that just because somebody has lighter skin automatically means they're white. That is why it is especially important that there are characters like Rook that can be african but aren't necessarily black and Ruggie who is black but is lightskin. Representation is everything!! Even in Sub-Saharan Africa, there are black people who can be very light and even look just like Ruggie except for the hyena tail and ears, I have seen it for myself! Africa is such a diverse continent and, intentional or not, I am glad twst showed us that with Rook, Ruggie, and Leona.
would you consider Rook black?
I personally think he's mixed
Hello, thanks for sending this!
Now I can see him being mixed and I can totally get behind it. Personally, I actually think he's white. To me, he is the equivalent of a white South African. Yes, he was born there, but if you trace his lineage from only a few generations, because of colonization, it comes back to France or something. He also speaks French and even though many Africans do (it's actually one of the most spoken language in Africa!), the dialect is very much European. Now does he maybe have something a little mixed in there? Very likely, since there are very rare instances when someone's DNA is purely just one or two ethnicities, but I feel like it's at most 5%. Of course, that's just my two cents and I understand if people think that he's mixed!
My baby boy is just lightskin also twist probably made him lighter in order to stay away from the 'black people steals for basic stuff' trope since there is currently like 4 or 5 poc characters in the game
IDK WHY I DIDNT SEE THIS ANY SOONER IM SORRY :ccc THANK YOU FOR SENDING THIS!!
But I do think this is an interesting point!!! To be fair, the game already has its fair share of microaggressions (iirc, in the first Fairy Gala Event, they called Kalim, Ruggie, Leona, and Jamil "exotic", the random microaggressions towards beastmen which many do have darker skintones) even the fandom has this weird racism thing going on which is an unfortunate but common thing that happens in fandom spaces. I think it's definitely a possibility that they considered but I am only a little uncertain if that was the intention because they let so many other things slip through the cracks 😭
Warning: A little rant below
But Ruggie will always be black to me and I really hope he gets a hometown event (I feel like his would be so interesting especially if he takes other people along with him because most of the NRC population is so posh but that's another can of worms...) I really want to see his grandma. Even if his grandma looks just as lightskin as him, he will still be black. I just think that since hyenas are literally native to Sub-Saharan Africa, Ruggie is a hyena, which means he is black. I just think it's a little more logical than him being from Brazil (yes I heard somebody say that).
I'm sure this has been said before but I totally feel like Benny would be the mf to go "I don't care how small the room is I CAST FIREBALL!!!!!"

Kingdom after kingdom fell under his control after erasing corrupt officials. He managed to achieve his goal of bringing peace to the magical world. However, due to his prolonged use of dark magic, he eventually grew mad and purely ego driven. His rage shifted to innocent villages, pillaging and burning the thousands who dared to defy him. Until he was eventually thwarted and sent to the Realm of Shadows to be tortured for 200 years.
After he served his punishment and his reputation in the magical realm was tarnished, he fled to earth in 1984 to find a new life. With enough hard work and astonishing amounts of back-breaking work, he finally managed to secure his own broker company. That isn't without struggle as he continues to learn his way around the mortal realm and discover that redemption isn't as easy as he thinks.
Especially when someone discovers his secret. He can't have that.
