it’s not with a great deal of ease that jessica begins throwing her groceries as projectiles. she spent money on those – hard earned, and hard spent. she doesn’t want to hurl a carton of eggs at an oncoming enemy, but what choice does she have? she can’t exactly venom blast them. and despite her initial aversion, she takes a great deal of satisfaction in watching eggshells scratch at her assailants face, and even more at the way her glass bottle of milk thunks off of one head, and smashes on the ground. “oh, thank god it’s just you.” she replies, recognising carol the moment she properly lays eyes on the woman. then she shrugs, even as she begins to scan the area around them. “i took a detour. figured i’d see what was going on here, y’know, the big old street party and all. didn’t bank on it being like this.” she spins just as her roommate takes down the man behind her. “cheers,” she mutters in thanks, then she laughs. “i get the feeling, love,” jessica steps to the side and delivers a kick to one man’s ribcage, “that slipping,” her teeth grit and her breath whooshes out as he lands a punch to her stomach in return, “is the last,” she drives a fist under his chin and upwards, knocking him out, “of anyone’s concern.”
“just me? not exactly the greeting i was hoping for.” jessica’s fighting style today was interesting to say the least, eggs made a good projectile. carol probably wouldn’t have thought to use them, but then again they were in very different positions at the moment. “i don’t think anyone thought it would be exactly like this, thought it was going to be more arguing about rigged games than anything else.” fighting alongside her roommate was natural, maybe it came from all the time they spent together, maybe they were just both fantastic fighters, who knew. carol let herself fly back up, giving jess room to fight, but also giving her a higher vantage point. it was way easier to shoot people if you could see them earlier. she did her best to make sure no one she knew was a good guy. “slipping is a real problem jess, i don’t think we could afford the lawsuit that came from it.” she grinned down at the brunette. “guess it can wait a little bit.” she kept sending out her photon blasts, trying to go easy. now was not the time to accidentally fully power up and go blasting into space. plus suddenly having glowing eyes would bring more attention to her than she wanted, flying was a much more common skill.
