I like how it turned out, though you can definitely tell it was my first digital drawing of Zuko (or at least the first one I actually rendered? I don't remember).

Currently Watching: I have a lot of things started from a while back but I wouldn't say I am actively watching anything right now? Star Trek: Voyager and BBC Merlin I still want to finish eventually but I started both of those years ago. I am not good at watching shows

Currently Listening To: The past few days I keep coming back to "A Real Hero" by College and Electric Youth, because I am not over the Driver (2011) obsession

Current Obsessions: Drive (the 2005 book AND 2011 movie), Iron Lung, Project Hail Mary (both book and movie here as well), Detroit Become Human (always and forever at this point I fear ^^'), Citizen Sleeper, The Murderbot Diaries.... I could keep going but you could probably say I'm a sucker for space and whatever it means to be a human/person

Currently Reading: Drive by James Sallis because I was curious after seeing the movie and yeah there's a lot of good stuff in there in terms of characterisation and even though the plots are quite different it's actually a really nice addition to the movie. Or the movie is a nice addition to the book? More the first more than the second I think. The movie doesn't really add anything but it's less confusing than the book on the grounds of having a linear story which makes for a better basis maybe BUT I am rambling! Also trying my best to keep up with several fanfics of different fandoms and finding new ones to read daily but I am not listing all that. If anyone wants recommendations for anything from the obsessions list feel free to ask though!

Currently Working On: Passing the last of my exams from last semester technically ^^' I am no artist and I wouldn't call myself a writer, but I do have a couple of things in the works and have had for years. Will probably never publish any of those, but yeah there's a couple of original things floating around, several DBH ideas that I am actually quite fond of, and one random Iron Lung thingy that is small enough that I may actually finish it? Eventually?? ALSO as of JUST NOW, started brainstorming one beautiful mess of a DBH x Drive x PHM x The Fall Guy thing with a friend and we'll see if anything comes out of that I guess? Having lots of fun there either way. The power of two people who love stuff <3

Currently Wearing: Pyjamas. I sat down to answer this right after seeing I'd been tagged because otherwise I fear there is no chance I will do it. I have 384 drafts currently, I am really terrible at making posts and reblogging stuff ^^'

Last Web Search: "the fall guy" because I wanted to check if the movie actually had a 'the' in the title. Before that I have "wraparound sunglasses" because Driver buys them in the book at one point and I couldn't figure out what kind of sunglasses those are and wanted to know what they look like. Well technically he buys "wraparound mirror shades", but I was only confused about the wraparound part and they're not called shades anywhere anymore.

Favorite Flower: Tough question... I don't think about flowers much but I quite like dahlias I think? They're neat and come in pretty colours. I can appreciate lots of flowers though, just can't name them

i think people get so used to their own creative work that they forget how amazing it is so i’m making this post as a reminder You are the only person capable of making art the exact way you make it. nobody else on earth can do that. there are always going to be those little habits and intricacies and details that simply cannot be replicated whether it’s in writing or painting or textiles and you make life all the better for it i love my friends’ art i love art from strangers im trying to love my own art I LOVE YOU!!! What are you reading rn, why are you reading it, and what format are you reading it in (physical book, ereader, on your phone etc)

sometimes that character just wouldn’t hide an injury. it’s a great trope but only if they would do that.

and sometimes the character wouldn’t try to push through sickness and do their day job or whatever. again i see what you’re going for but sometimes in these fics something else can happen. open your hearts and minds to scenarios such as “the character is actually pretty expressive about their needs and is willing to complain a lot but the other characters still don’t take it that seriously for whatever reason and have to deal with the guilt and quencies after”. or “the character takes a rest at the appropriate time (or earlier!) but then faces punishment/being ignored/hostility for doing so and that is what worsens their condition into a serious one.” or “the character is a practical one who informs people sensibly and takes every necessary step, yet to their distress their condition still spirals out of the control.” or whatever else but just do you see what i’m saying not every character is a silent sufferer and that isn’t the only way to put them in a situation . we can innovate
