[My art tablet lives! And I have been playing in the art sandbox >:) Also, as I've rped with Wren, I've learned a bit more about him that I wanted to edit/include. So, here ya go ^^]

PERSONALITY

Wren: Wren is slightly withdrawn and awkward in social interactions with his vode, but he is also playful and caring. He desperately just wants to turn all of his vode into blanket burritos to keep them safe. Wren will do literally anything to he can to make his vode happy and safe. The ori'vod is strong in this one.

86: 86 has a massive guilt complex. He still tries to do anything he can to keep the others happy and comfortable, but it's more because he feels it's a way to make up for his mistakes than because it makes him happy when they're happy. 86 is even more awkward and unsure of himself, and he doesn't trust himself with any of the younger clones.

BACKGROUND (SHORT)

Oldest and last of an experimental batch

Deployed for the First Battle of Geonosis where he suffered from Noise-Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL); quick thinking and quicker talking kept him from decom and got him two cochlear implants to help him hear again

Assigned to the Coruscant Guard once his therapy was complete

Chose the name Wren after much therapy and emotional healing thanks to his vode

EXTRAS

Has a greenhouse hidden somewhere in the Guard HQ that no one else knows about

Because he's hardly ever seen HQ (he's either working, sleeping, or in the greenhouse), hardly any of the vode, including the officers, know who he is even though he's been there for so long (he's fallen through the cracks, so to speak, but he uses that to his advantage)

Has two cochlear implants hidden by his hair

100% deaf in right ear, 80% in left (w/out the implants)

Hyperthymesia: 'an ability that allows people to remember nearly every event of their life with great precision'

Works as a translator in the Senate Rotunda all day every day

Doesn't wear his helmet, elbow guards, or hand plates while he's working so that he can sign easier/more visibly (the commanders don't know about this because h never cleared it with them)

Because of the above, he's the best known/recognized clone to the people in the Senate Building besides Fox himself (and the GAR poster boys Rex and Cody)

Works so closely with so many natborns that he was able to start cultivating them as 'sources' for his underground dealings

Deals in information, contraband, and favors

Before the fight with Cory that brought him to Fox's attention, 86 was reaching the end of his rope; he was beginning to think about suicide

Most of his deals with the natborns are simple trades of information, exotic flowers, and favors (i.e. retrieving/collecting blackmail material; running errands; ferrying other illegal/dubious items around the Rotunda; etc.). However, if he needs to get ahold of something more valuable and/or the natborn in question is more corrupt, Wren/86 will trade himself

The above is his darkest secret, and he will do a lot to make sure his vode, especially Fox who despises natborns so vehemently, never learn of his shame (he does it all for them)

Return and Revamp

Aight. It's been a heck of a long time since I've been here. I'm finally on the up-and-up tho, and I'd like to get back into this if anyone wants. I'm going to revamp this blog, get the most accurate and up-to-date information about Wren on here. If anyone has questions about him they want me to answer, my asks are always open. I also have other OCs I might start side blogs for just so that there's variety.

On top of that, I do in fact have more recent commissions and personal art of Wren that actually do him much more justice.

I also also have a Sith AU for him, because that's just sort of how things ended up falling.

Anyway yeah, I'm open to all suggestions and requests! If you know someone who wants some casual rp with a quirky, traumatized Corrie, his Zabrak Mando bestie, a Sith clone, a therapist Twi'lek, or Dogma (because I will never not love him), hmu! As I get details and timelines sorted for anything, you'll basically be able to mix and match.

Ok not to bring up old ridiculous accusations but I’m wondering if that original anon who accused you of whitewashing (without being able to explain what exactly they thought they saw) was seeing the brow bones in your clone art being less pronounced than tem’s. I don’t think that’s really whitewashing but it is a significant facial feature that I do think is different in your art! I like your art the way it is but if you were still wondering about new things to try you could consider it. But again to be clear I already love your art and I don’t think you need to change <3

Can I be really honest with you for a moment, anon?

Art is fucking hard. I know looking at other artists it sometimes feels like they can do everything effortlessly, but trust me, every artist has something (or more) they always struggle with.

For me that's faces. Which is funny because I love drawing faces. Half the time I'm already happy when I have a nose or an eye that at least looks decent, let alone in a very specific shape I want. But I try, boy do I try. And if you compare my first sketches of the clones to my recent ones I think I can safely say I've managed to bring quite some Tem into it, but still retaining my style and I'm definitely working on making it even better. So thank you for the (polite) tips on what I could improve.

But I do want to say something on this subject that has been bothering me for a while. (Not talking about you here, anon)

There's the stylization part. I know this can be a touchy subject, but I'm gonna say it anyway. I don't think every iteration of the clones needs to look like like an exact copy of Tem because there is such a thing as an art style. And by that I don't mean whitewashing, by that I mean style. So you pick out the elements that make Tem look like Tem (skintone, wide nose, expressive eyebrows etc) and then give it your own twist. We're not all realism artists here. Some of us have a sharp, chonky style, you don't tell them they can't draw clones because it wouldn't fit the 'soft jawline' Tem has. If an artist's style is more cartoony, you can't tell them never to draw clones because Tem doesn't look a cartoon character in real life. It doesn't work that way. The beauty of art is that you take the core of something you love and turn it into something new, giving it a part of yourself.

And going around telling artists (that are clearly doing their best not to whitewash) they're racist because they don't draw a hyper realistic carbon copy of a real life actor is just ignorant and unproductive.

And that is all I'm gonna say on this.

Thinking about Anakin’s love for theater and how funny it would have been if he’d liked the show Palpatine took him to so much that he couldn’t really focus on the Tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise TM because he just couldn’t for the life of him follow the conversation when there were BUBBLES and FASCINATING LIGHTS and DANCES happening right in front of him. Palpatine thinks he’s pulling the strings, but Anakin has simply perfected the art of looking like he’s paying attention. Anakin HAS spent over a decade next to Obi-Wan—anyone would gain that skill—and hilariously enough, this is what deprives Palpatine of his new apprentice.
