URGENT: DISABLED TRANS BUTCH AND GENDERQUEER BLACK WOMAN NEED HELP ASAP
Our new car just got towed. Yes, the shitty used one we just bought and spent every cent of our savings on. Because there isn't enough disabled parking at our apartment complex and we had to park on the side of the road or walk a very long way, which we can't do because of my chronic pain and my girlfriend's back injury.
The tow place adds on 50$ for every day you can't pick it up from them, so this is time sensitive. (Written as of 4/06/2021)
My girlfriend is trying to reach out to her family but that brings risks of its own, and they have some financial struggles too.
So we're begging... Please reblog this even if you can't donate, and don't donate if you're struggling yourself.

Ok but as a dysphoric trans man the whole ‘you need dysphoria to be trans’ actually baffles me because even tho I’ve always had severe dysphoria, it didn’t actually help me figure out my gender at all. I usually dismissed my dysphoria as ‘internalized misogyny’ or just not being feminine enough, which actually just caused me worse dysphoria.
You know what made me figure out that I’m trans though? Gender euphoria. The minute I got called a ‘sir’ is the moment that I realized, “shit this feels right.” And at that point I realized that I could no longer deny the fact that I’m not a woman and that I couldn’t keep living as one.
Here’s a hot take: maybe being trans isn’t so much about how uncomfortable you can be in your DGAB, but rather how much more comfortable you can be.
Trans woman chiming in to second this.
I was dysphoric since at least the onset of puberty, but it took me until age 36 to realize I was trans, and it wasn’t the dysphoria that made me realize it. I even knew that what I felt sounded exactly like what dysphoric trans people described. But I dismissed it as self-loathing, depression, unhappiness with my body type.
And just like OP, the dysphoria isn’t how I realized I was trans. That feeling of “this is right, this is what I want” is how I realized I was trans. The realization that wanting to be trans and being trans are the same thing. Only then did it become clear. Only then was I able to start transitioning. And only then did my dysphoria begin to break.
Hello, friend, I'm new to the movement and I was wondering if you could recommend any specific antifa readings? Thank you!
Sure! Here’s some of the books I‘ve read on it.
These are mostly first-hand accounts from UK antifascists:No Retreat: The Secret War Between Britain’s Anti-Fascists and the Far Right by Dave Hann, Steve Titzey
Beating the Fascists: The Untold Story of Anti-Fascist Action by Sean Birchall
Bash the Fash: Anti-Fascist Recollections 1984-93 by K. Bullstreet
Some books about older antifascist struggles:Homage to Catalonia by George Orwell
The Ghetto Fights by Marek Edelman
Also, I have Militant Anti-Fascism: A Hundred Years of Resistance, which looks more like an international overview, but I haven’t read it yet.
There were also some good articles online about antifa recently but I can’t find them now :/ Any followers care to add any links?
Here is a good article by Manchester antifascists: Antifascism is more than ‘Writing and Fighting’
“You are just as bad as They are” is a good article on antifascism and especially on the arguments used against militant antifascism and the use of violence in confronting fascism.

no, listen, when I say I want to integrate more specific solarpunk stuff in my life, i don’t mean to ask for yet again new “aesthetic” clothes that now you have to buy or make to show your support of the movement (screw that i’m consuming enough as it is), or more posts about impossible house goals, or whatever, I’m asking you what my options to build a portable and eco friendly phone charger are, im asking you viable tiny-appartment edible plants growing tricks on a budget, im asking tips to slow down when my mind and society tell me im not fast enough, i don’t need more rich art nouveau amateurs aesthetics or pristine but cold venus project, okay, i know i should joins associations where I am tho i’m constantly on the move, thanks for that, just, you know, can we get a bit more practical ??? how do I hack my temporary flat into going off the grid for the time i’m here

whats up i like putting on ambient forest noises when i go to bed, i like how expansive and unobtrusive it is, also i like all the bird peeps.
here’s the other one i like, the frogs sound like the ones i grew up with and i like the background buzz of the smaller frogs and crickets, plus it’s monotonous enough that you can really go to sleep with it.
this has been. white noise blogging.
here’s a good one if you want to pretend you’re in a goosedown sleeping bag on an air mattress in a mountain cabin with a woodstove chock full of bone dry fir logs and a tea kettle kept on a low grumbling simmer all night.
back to the basics with this big ass sand dune and ten hours of otherworldly moaning.

Are you a boy or a girl ?
Not to my knowledge .
@ white people who think wearing eagle feather headdresses is just a costume and doesn’t offend natives, I was at a powwow yesterday and one of the dancer’s who was a war veteran accidentally dropped an eagle feather while dancing and we had to stop the entire powwow, the head man and some other elders had to stop and pray over the feather before picking it up. The guy who dropped the father gave a speech, while almost in tears, about how sorry he was to have dropped the feather and how it represented the choices he had to make in combat and the lives of people that were taken, and he ended up passing the feather on to another young dancer instead of keeping it because he felt so ashamed. This is how much eagle feathers mean to a lot of our nations, and that’s how important it is to native veterans. Wearing eagle feathers as a costume or without having to go through combat is disgusting and you ARE offending our traditions and values. Stop. You cannot understand the importance of our customs and you do not deserve to wear eagle feathers.
Here’s a secret for some of y'all: this post isn’t controversial.
i am too much & too much, in different ways but always it comes out
revolted wasn't the right word, or at least it has dulled to a sour distaste in the back of your mouth that lingers,
but still am i too dilute myself ?
i don't wish to cause any harm but i do not wish to cause harm to myself by feeling i must censor feelings & emotions, whilst in return after being asked to bare myself, being given little more than a crack in the door frame to look through.
i am large and unfeeling and raw and blunt and not static and i am not always know how i am feeling, and i feel too little, get scared easily of feeling but it usually ends or i end up feeling 'too much' and numbness is little better because a void that seperates you from the smallest fragments of joy is a curse no matter what pain it saves you from
they say they love me yet not even a month has passed since we learned of each other's existance. they have said it as the former form of a sentance, with the latter half being i want to die. they have said it and taken it back. they have said it, then chased it with apologies. they have said they will not say
am i just a fuck toy to them ? a body to be broken and then cast aside once conquered ? am i a friend ? do they want me in an entirity or as a fuck toy & an emotional support (this is not entirely fair on them)
they apologise for being 'too much' yet i leave them awkward, not knowing what to say, i feel like i am too much in a sense they are too empathic to deal with my shit and they ask not knowing what exactly they walk into bc i overshare far too fucking much
and they do make me smile & giggle & sing & laugh & content, but what friend of mine does not ?
i don't deserve them but also they do not deserve to deal with shit i thought gotten past but apparently not. It was watered down and accepted maybe but regardless, is now being dredged up, and i'm leave reeling unable to breathe, wishing i could be safe in the embrace of denial
Traumatized people are often afraid of feeling. It is not so much the perpetrators (who, hopefully, are no longer around to hurt them) but their own physical sensations that now are the enemy. Apprehension about being hijacked by uncomfortable sensations keeps the body frozen and the mind shut. Even though the trauma is a thing of the past, the emotional brain keeps generating sensations that make the sufferer feel scared and helpless. It’s not surprising that so many trauma survivors are compulsive eaters and drinkers, fear making love, and avoid many social activities: Their sensory world is largely off limits.
- Bessel van der Kolk “The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and the Body in the Healing of Trauma (via ptcharliesd)
one thing i’ve learned is that you can’t make someone: love you, stay with you or be faithful. those are things they’re gonna do or not do all on their own. the only thing you can control is how you give and accept love and and how you leave when you feel like it’s best for you to go
