Dennis regresses much younger than Trinity, which naturally puts her in a big-sister role. She loves being Dennis’ older sibling. She calls him “Denny” and he calls her “Tin”
After especially rough shifts, they regress together. They change into comfy clothes, grab their favorite stuffies, and lie on the living room floor to decompress. Sometimes they watch their favorite cartoons on TV.
Dennis baby-talks and babbles while he’s regressed, and Trinity always understands him, answering like he’s making perfect sense.
Because they live together and know each other so well, they can both sense when the other is regressing. Trin regresses inward, getting quieter and calmer, while Dennis regresses outward, becoming clingier and more easily overwhelmed.
They’re protective over each other in their own way. Trinity stands guard over him while he naps and Dennis hugs her when she’s upset.
They’re both very messy littles and often get into trouble because of it. Dennis spills everything and forgets where he puts his toys, and Trin leaves snack wrappers and hair ties everywhere. Their apartment is a mess.
Trinity collects stim toys and uses them to stay grounded when she’s little. Dennis assumes anything silicone or colorful is chewable and routinely attempts to bite or eat them until she intercepts.
Dennis loves watching Trin play video games like Minecraft, Even when he doesn’t fully understand what’s happening. He’ll cuddle close and watch the screen likes it’s the most fascinating thing in the world.
Dennis can get very emotional and expresses himself mostly through tears. Trinity never knows what to do with that much feeling. She just holds him close and hums a lullaby until he clams down.
Trinity has a sense of humor about regression and is more comfortable joking about it. That helps Dennis embrace being little more rather than being ashamed of it.
Even at work, they have their own private language and inside jokes about their regression. They constantly send each other memes or pictures of cats, cartoon ducks, or stuffed animals, captioned “us!!!”
