painted heights artfight for @houndedgrave !!
Intimate portraits. Crowd pits. Play scenes. Protests. My pals. Grassroots nights. My community.
I'm only just getting started on documenting lezzers n queers in all our forms. There's a lack of representation of butchness and female masculinity in mainstream media. When queers are photographed for campaigns n such they're often curated in appearance with a skinny, feminine, and 'palatable' look for the wider audience. This ain't what I'm about.
I'm Lou, a butch lesbian from Portsmouth, UK interested in the in-between and unseen moments, reframing from a lesbian perspective. My photoshoots aren't ever in studios, for me it's about getting to know the person to understand how they want to be seen. I also live with incurable cancer which has profoundly shaped my approach to photography, influencing my perspective on intimacy and survival. Each year I spend hours chatting away to new people at these occasions and I bloody love it.
I'm Manchester based and if you'd like to book a shoot there's a link in my bio. It's £60 an hour and you'll get plenty of images in that time.
I also sell my work, £15 inc UK postage for A4 print to stick up on ya wall of filth.
Thank you geezers x

Contemporary Archeology VI
Sky Edwards
2026
Acrylic paint on recycled materials and found objects.
Contemporary Archaeology VI explores spaces reclaimed by ecology and community. Built upon industrial form, it reflects on the experience of a trans girl looking for expression, belonging, and safety. It will exhibit in October 2026 in the Castaways Sculpture Awards in Rockingham.
Contemporary Archaeology I Sky Edwards 2024 Recycled materials and acrylic paint.
Contemporary Archaeology I explores industrial form; layers of use-disuse, damage-repair; inhabited, utilitarian, essential, abject spaces. It arose from Sky’s miniature work and photography. It exhibited in the Compact exhibition (Vic Park, 2024) and was Highly Commended in the Castaways Sculpture Awards (City of Rockingham, 2024).
some hyper famous artists like Van Gogh transcend overratedness and become underrated because they're so normalized. Like I'll look at a van Gogh and I'm like wait this really is amazing you guys don't get it
Shakespeare is like this
Every time I see a Van Gogh that’s not one of his better known pieces it absolutely blows me away
Have you seen this shit my liege? smh unreal
i ❤️ my phone so i made it a bedroom to go to sleep in when i want to reduce my screen time
some people are (understandably) upset that i didn’t tuck my phone in. listening and learning and taking accountability
Where's that picture of the trans guy touching another trans guy's top surgery scars like Thomas touching Jesus' wound?!
I need it!! Today's both Easter and trans day of visibility!! That picture has never been more relevant!!!
Ok nvm I found it!!!!
And also found out Elisabeth Ohlson Wallin has a series of incredible queer religious photographs that are all amazing and I'm in love with all of them!
But this is the relevant one :')

AMD GOD GAVE THE BEAST-KINGS GIFTS THAT THEY MIGHT SHARE WITH THEIR PEOPLE:
To the Wolf, god gave ripping teeth, and the Law of the Pack.
To the Bear, god gave crushing jaws, and terrible strength
To the Falcon, god gave slicing talons, and great sight
And to the Shrimp, god gave the concussive plasma cannon.
this is one of my favourite posts; finally got around to finishing this

artfight attack for @ragepups
I love your style. It's like what if a creature was an abstract nightmare of blades. Or if you changed the font from "mammal" to "death metal album."
