Us

and so I wrote him songs about the Sun, Moon and Stars; about every breath, every word, every smile thus far

and til the end of  of all possible loves, I write him more songs until he knows who we are

He was all I wanted, and all I needed,  and all I ever saw, for sure;

but in the recesses of this weary heart, I knew I fell into the magic that his love conjured.

How do I look for whatever remains in the aftermath of all the strewn letters and words?

And how do I find the truth that prevails when you've taken the heart that procures it?

Illuminated

In flickering candle-light, and vast starless nights-- Slowly I melted, and molded into place; And I succumb to your mesmerizing gaze.

Reflection

Unlit dawns and star-littered sunsets, across the harbour's blue; In fell in love with the shimmer of the water, And maybe-- I fell in love with you, too

Surprises

The flowers in the passenger’s seat, sat waiting, unrelenting--

Hoping to be the resounding voice, in this story that keeps on telling.

He was-- The tantalizing gaze, the rough hands, the low timbre, and the voice that Reminds me of the crashing waves, with a calm that breeze that anchors no land.

Spaces

In the dawn, as his breathing slows, I watch as time stands still; around us all the silhouettes fall in place, and demands the space between us to be filled

there was nothing like his heartbeat, rough hands, cigarette breaths; nothing like whispers on the pavement,  just as the clock strikes 3AM

nothing like our tangled souls, and bodies, under sheets-- I swear to God, there is no other love for me like his.

may ibang nagbabalot sa atin anumang pagkaiba, ‘di kayang wasakin, at sa kinabukasan natin, isa’t-isa lamang hahanapin.

Parting

you heard me in my darkest hour, and held me in my bliss;

now tell me why we cannot return to moments such as this?

Lost Stars

I’m running out of words to say, for the galaxy my mind can reel;

sleepless nights, unmoving days, closing doors, and an unfavorable place

leads me to misguided ways and keeps my feelings astray.

a daunting, starless, cloudy sky embracing you in woe;

let me hold you, be your light--

as you have held me tight last night-- and sweep me away, wherever you will go.
