Hospital bedside love declarations
I haven't been in a writing mood lately, so for Polin Week this year, I have finally started organising my bookmarks and prepared a series of themed Polin fic recs instead.
I will start with a couple that are not listed as this year's prompts, as a bonus... I adore this trope and posted about this before here.

(One of my favourite bedtime re-reads. The angst HURTS, but it's soooo good!!!! HEA, of course. I could read 10 more chapters of this one – it lives on in my head!)
The Weight of Silence, by Keenbean90
Summary: Disaster doesn't ask permission; it crashes in without warning, but in its wake, it leaves the chance to grasp what matters most, if only Colin is brave enough to reach.
(Pen and El are in a horrific car accident. Cue desperate Col at her bedside. I love this fic an insane amount and I would love to read the epilogue the author wrote!!)
Summary: “This is Penelope. She moved into the house across the way. She’s allergic to nuts, but she has her EpiPen.”
Five times Bridgertons decide to stop eating nuts, and the time Colin realizes he’d given them up a long time ago.
(Oh, the angst!!!!! One of my fave bedtime re-reads.)

Summary: When Gregory and Hyacinth coerce their older siblings into participating in a TikTok taste test things don’t quite go to plan.
One awful cocktail and hospital trip later, Colin realizes that maybe he has more to lose than just a game.
(Delicious angst, with Col carrying Pen more than once!!! Yum!!!!!)

Penelope only finds out she is pregnant when she goes to hospital in labour. Colin flies back thinking she is ill, just to meet his son for the first time. I love this so much, the story just kept going in my head.
(And I guess this also fits the "Didn't Know They Were Dating" prompt for day 5!)

Pen offers to be a surrogate for Frannie and Michael. Pen, El and Col are flatmates. Angsty and lovely, with a good-mum-Portia making an appearance.

Colin and El are in a car accident (and make a full recovery), and Pen and Col have a wonderful heart-to-heart afterwards… With a surprise fun cameo at the end, which I hope turns into a sequel one day!
