I think my favorite thing about Vashj in Shadowlands is that they did not make her a heartless bitch and she is in fact mourning everyone she knew viciously for the entirety of the expansion.

It's so easy to fall into the trap of trying to make a woman stoic when she's an in-charge lady, a girlboss if you would, and especially when she was a villain you had to deal with before. But all of Vashj's quests are about her picking up the pieces of her afterlife being destroyed and so many people she knew being killed after her people were attacked and her fellow baron abandoned her, and like, fuck, Draka avoids Vashj in all of this. Draka knows her house was destroyed, knows her margrave is dead, knows Vashj is alive considering she sends you to meet with her in the questline, and she just never goes back to help Vashj or their people.

Vashj spends all the quests you do with her mourning, and will quite plainly state that she's doing all this because grief itself accomplishes nothing, one has to act to get things right again. She comments about how she hates the state of their lands and laments when you have to cull the local wildlife. She loves this place with her whole heart and she does so openly!

Which makes Draka's aloofness and "oh yeah, Vashj hates me lol" so much more annoying. Yeah, no shit, you really didn't care about anyone.
