Anxiety and Stress: Tongue chewing can serve as a coping mechanism for individuals experiencing heightened levels of stress, anxiety, or tension.

Sensory Stimulation: Some individuals engage in tongue chewing to seek sensory stimulation or to satisfy an oral fixation. In addition, some people engage in tongue chewing after an initial insult that results in a different sensation on the tongue, a sore, rough, or tender spot that then attracts attention to that spot. Much like chewing gum, tongue chewing is also movement and can satisfy the need to move when one is in a sedentary situation.

Neurological Factors: Certain neurological conditions, such as sensory processing difficulties, Tourette's syndrome, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), may be associated with an increased likelihood of engaging in tongue chewing.

I Observed The Suspect Lying On The Floor. His Light Hair Was Greasy And Damp With Sweat. The Faded Denim Shirt He Was Wearing Was Soaked With Sweat, And I Noticed A Slight Trickle Of Blood At The Corner Of His Mouth. He Had A Prominent Carpet Burn On His Right Elbow, Bright Blood Red. He Appeared Completely Defeated, But His Condition Revealed A Great Struggle That Had Brought Him To That Point. He Was Motionless, But Emitted A Very Faint Whimper, Like A Child Or A Cat At Night.I Examined The Artwork That Adorned The Walls. Three Large Portraits In Black And White Photos Of Tall, Lean, Muscular Men Posing In Various Provocative Positions, Showing Off Their Slender Figures And Physiques... I Guessed This Guy Was Gay And Some Kind Of Clean Freak.The Suspect Walked Slowly, Trying To Wriggle Free From The Handcuffs. His Head Was Bowed On His Hunched Shoulders, But Even In That Position, I Could Tell He Was Over Six Feet Tall And In Good Shape.I Helped The Suspect Into The Car And Got In Behind Him. The Two Officers Transporting Him Got In The Front And Headed For The Station. We Didn't Say A Word As We Drove Back Downtown. I Watched The Suspect As We Drove. Although He Was A Large Man, Sitting There He Looked Almost Fragile, Hunched Over And Trembling Slightly. At The Station, He Cooperated, Almost Like A Zombie, As I Led Him To The Prisoner Elevator And The Interrogation Rooms On The Fourth Floor.📖

Were His First Words, Almost Pleading.For The First Time, I Observed Him Closely. A Hint Of Barely Controlled Hysteria Was Perceptible In His Voice. The Smell Of Alcohol Was More Than Noticeable; His Eyes Were Glazed, And He Spoke With A Slight Slur.From My Brief Observations, I Sensed That I Had Before Me An Intelligent, Gay, White Man, A Product Of The Upper Middle Class, Involved In At Least One Homicide, And Perhaps More.📝

upon entering Jeffrey Dahmer’s apartment, you’ll notice that it’s a bit disorganized and awkward. straight ahead from the entrance, you’ll see his fish tank, situated on top of a sleek black table in the far corner of the room. Before the fish tank is a light colored couch and a crooked rug, too small for the space it’s in. the walls are sparsely populated with erotic imagery of the male form.

on the upper corner of the wall, there’s a security camera, like one you’d see outside of a grocery store.

looking around the small, cluttered apartment, you’ll find hints as to what the man who lives here gets up to.

here on this side-table, you’ll see empty cans of beer among what looks like bottles of chemicals and medications. there’s even a drill on the floor next to a bottle of bleach.

if you turn to your left, you’ll see a cube freezer, stationed awkwardly near the kitchen area. on top of this freezer lay a bunch of polaroids taken by Dahmer. in front of the freezer are several boxes of Soilex cleaning product and several square cardboard boxes, which contained acid.

if you turn all the way around, you’ll be back at the front door, looking at the hallway towards Jeff’s bedroom.

stepping just into the small hallway, and turning to your left, you’ll see Jeff’s bed along with a dresser carrying a TV. the floor is stained and the room is cluttered but not full. beyond the dresser, just out of sight, a large blue drum takes up space in the corner. i wonder what he keeps in there..?

on the sexual-assault charge, judge gardner sentenced dahmer to five years in prison, but stayed the sentence and put dahmer on five years of probation. the judge also ordered him to spend one year in the house of correction and to receive psychological treatment.

further, gardner ordered dahmer to have no contact with juveniles, including no hanging around schools, playgrounds or parks.

following dahmer's arrest in 1991 for mass murders, it came to light that the 13-year-old he assaulted in 1988 was konerak sinthasomphone's older brother. this revelation led critics and the public to heavily criticize judge gardner's leniency and the handling of dahmer's probation, citing them as significant systemic failures.
