with @sevlhae at the royal wedding
“It appears it is just the two of us, at sunset.”
Courage had been mustered up on the young Jung Lord’s part at this event this time, his lessons learned from the last royal celebration due to his flawed timidness and hesitation. It had resulted in consequences that he, in that moment in time, had not entered his conscience. He had been selfish, in considerate; his heart had slipped alignment with hers, causing hurt instead of healing.
How could he claim he felt love and endearment, if pain was what he inflicted instead of joy? He was not worthy to proclaim such statements, or enjoy such emotions, if he were to refuse to realize his errors in this play. Eternal rain would be what he would deserve. Sunshine was for those who proved positive value.
He had approached, addressing and greeting those present around her, before asking for the honour of her company for conversation. He knew he had been in earshot of her brothers and sisters, Grand Princes and Princesses. He had felt gazes upon him like curious hawks, their sight and hearing hanging onto the words being exchanged between their sister and this young Lord.
That was in part why he quietly requested the luxury of a walk with her, around the open courtyard. He needed some privacy with her, to speak words less restrained by the intensity of eavesdroppers.
Her voice cut through the peacefulness between them first, his pace beside hers, his hand as always yearning to be feeling the touch of hers but knowing better in such a setting. Instead his hands are tucked behind him in the cold, his gaze fixated on the pure white below his feet, about to be left with traces of their path.
It lifted, however -- not to gaze at the sky, but at her. And his lips parted, speaking low words, his tone resolute but abruptly honest; a confession she would know already in her heart.
“I want to choose you.”
