things about the harry potter movies that bother the fans
movie hermione having all of ron’s good traits
movie ginny showing less emotion than a brick
harry casting the lumos spell in privet drive
peeves not being in any of the movies
hermione’s dress in goblet of fire being pink and not blue like in the book
‘’calmly’‘
The lumos in Privet Drive annoys me so much! And then Uncle Vernon reminds everyone you can't do magic outside of Hogwarts like, two scenes later!
I heard that Carrie drowned bathed in moonlight, strangled by her own bra. What a way to go.
I’m so happy that we have so many resources for Carrie’s humor. I’m very grateful. She has the ability to make me feel better with 140 characters or less. That’s magic.

Someone buy this man a beer
I REALLY FUCKING LOVE THIS OKAY
so ur telling me that former death eaters can become ministry workers head masters and teachers who are constantly around children but a werewolf cant keep a job??? lol okay
Ya it’s weird almost as if the author of the books had some knowledge about how cruel and unfair the world can be to those on the margins of society and without expedient political connections.
Well it clearly says that people like Lucius Malfoy was using the excuse that he and his family were under the imperio curse, and since they were trusted already since they already worked in the ministry before, they had to accept it for there was no other evidence against the claim.
Also. I’m pretty sure this is to prove that the government is always gullible and incompetent, even though they try to be smart. Just remember, there was way more prejudice against werewolves than there were death eaters under “imperio”
^^^ literally what I was going for
kids have no concept of anything. i walked into my kindergarten class and one kid asked me what my name was. when i said miss jones, he said “i like that name. did you know i’m in love with you”
i asked my four year old cousin how old he thought i was going to be at my next birthday and he said 8. im 23
once i told a 6 year old that i had finished school and was doing “more school” [university] and she asked “why haven’t you found anyone to marry then”
We were at a museum and I was asking for the student discount and my nine year old cousin looks up at me with his eyes wide and says “wait you’re a STUDENT??”
I used to babysit these three kids and the eldest who was around 11 at the time was talking about how adults are boring and when I told him I was an adult he said, “That’s not true, you’re my age”
our aunt teaches and she has this story about a little girl who really was always pretty quiet in class and then on the final day of kindergarten she just up and stated ‘i’m all teached now. i don’t need to be teached anymore. i’m done of being teached.’
once when i was 19, I told my little cousin that i was 19 and she looked up at me with huge eyes and went, “Does that mean you don’t have to bring an adult with you to the pool?”
My 6 year old cousin saw me driving for the first time, looked up at him mom and said “does that mean she is married now?”
I watched my dad and my niece (3 at the time) arguing over a pair of pants and whether or not they were also a dress. My neice’s argument was that they were, in fact, also a dress because they were blue.
I asked the kids in my daycare class what they thought I should be for Halloween and this little boy goes, “ooh I know! A pickle! You’d be such a good pickle”
On the first day of class with my favorite student of all time, I said, “Are you okay? You look like you have a question.” And she looked me right in the eyes and said, tremulously,
“Can a piranha eat a stapler?”
One time I was working with a kid and he looked up at me and asked “Do you have a boy?” I had no idea what he was talking about, but I told him that I did not have any boys. He looked shocked and then deeply concerned and said “Well, you better hurry up and shave your arms so you can get married; August is next month!”
I was sitting on the floor with my 3yo niece and we were playing with her younger brother’s alphabet blocks and the O had an octopus on it. So I picked it up and asked her what it was.
“Octopus,” she said, all curls and smiles.
“And what kind of animal is an octopus?” I asked. I was looking for “fish” or “sea creature” but I would have accepted almost anything–”weird,” “gross,” even “slimy.” “Underwater” or “it lives in the ocean” would have also been acceptable.
She looks me right in the eye and says, happy as a clam, “It’s a cephalopod.”
I haven’t been the same since.
I can't wait until I have stories like this about my own kids!
They say when you have kids you learn who your true friends are. Which I never really understood. I always thought it was unfair on both sides, the one with the baby is now way too busy and tired for things like weekends out, and the one without a baby has things like work commitments and is only free in the evenings when the new parent is exhausted from looking after a child! But it happens before that too. When you're pregnant, suddenly you don't exist as a person. People don't say hi to you anymore, they ask how you're doing, which really means 'how's the baby'. I have one friend who spends a solid 5 minutes touching and talking to my bump before even looking at my face! And for most of my friends, the little free time they have they want to relax and have a drink and let their hair down. I don't begrudge that at all, I'd be doing the same if I wasn't pregnant! But sitting in a pub sober gets pretty boring pretty quickly, not to mention the fact that I'm ready for bed after 5 hours of being awake! It's not even that that's bothering me right now though. It's the fact that people don't even have two minutes to spare to send a reply to a text, or to respond to a Facebook event with a yes or no. I have had one friend arrange to meet up, and then not turn up on the day with no message before or after (and this was two days ago now) just to say they can't make it. I've had another friend completely ignore my message asking when they were free to meet up, and then, when I bumped into them in the street, not even stop walking to have a quick chat. I've tried to arrange two different events in the past couple of weeks on facebook, and people don't even have the decency to take 30 seconds out of their day to click yes or no, when (especially on one of them) it's clear I've put a lot of my time and effort into something that I won't even fully enjoy. I'm starting to think maybe I should give up trying to make plans, but if I do that I'll probably end up with no friends. Saying that, I'm feeling like I only have maybe two people who actually want to spend time with me these days... Or maybe I had some new hormones delivered today. Who knows.
WHY IS THIS SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND
So for all you feminists out their who think that all men should die, remember, you are not a feminist.
reblogging for the last comment
Legit question, I’m not trying to hate on feminists or anything. Why is it called feminist if they’re for equality?
castiel-knight-of-hell:
That’s a very good question and thank you for asking so politely.
The word feminism was coined by Charles Fourier in 1837, a French philosopher who advocated for the emancipation of women because he believed society treated women as slaves. We weren’t allowed to vote, own anything, or work a real job. Women were ruled by their fathers/household patriarch until they married at which time they’d be under the rule of their husband. If a woman did not belong to male household she was shunned by society and had very little means to make money, most of them unsavory. You know the idiom “rule of thumb”? That comes from a running joke that started in the 1600s, and was still around in Fourier’s time, that said it was okay for a man to beat a woman with a stick as long as it wasn’t any thicker than his thumb.
The point of the word feminist, and the feminist movement, has never been to say that women are better than men. The point is that women and things associated with women have been given a lesser place in society and we want to bring those things up to a place of equality. The focus is on the feminine because that’s what’s being pushed down. However, focusing on the feminine does not mean we’re focusing only women. Men are belittled and called “less of a man” anytime they portray a trait that is associated with femininity. If women and the feminine were equal to men and masculinity then that wouldn’t happen. Feminism is about raising up things associated with females to have an equal place in society as the things associated with males. It’s called feminism, not equalism, because the focus is on raising up not tearing down. Equalism would suggest that male things need to come down to a lower level so that female things can meet it in the middle. That’s not the point. The point is to raise up the feminine so that it’s on the same playing field that the masculine is already on. We don’t want men to lower themselves, we just want them to make room for us.
This needs to be spread far and wide to everyone on tumblr.
